11 Best Water Toys

To paraphrase a familiar saying, as we grow older we don’t outgrow our desire for toys—they just get bigger, more expensive and way, way cooler. That’s particularly true of waterborne toys that let you dive, fly, fish, explore, slide, sail and surf the waves.

The good news is that these toys are getting ever-more sophisticated, whether it’s speeding along at 35 mph on the world’s fastest electric surfboard, dropping 300 feet under the surface in a two-person submersible, or diving and then breaching the water’s surface like a Great White going after a seal.

We looked at multiple categories and chose our favorite toy in each one, focusing on the design, technology and ergonomics.

Here are 11 of our wet-and-wild favorites.

Our Best Water Toy Picks

Awake claims the Ravik S is the most powerful electric surfboard on the market. Check the stats. Powered by a 16kW electric motor paired to a linear jet system, it reaches 30 mph in under four seconds and tops out at a thrilling 36 mph. Agility is equally impressive. The low-buoyancy, lightweight carbon-fiber hull’s sharp water release and aggressive rocker will satisfy even the most advanced riders as the 5’ 8” board powers through turns or jumps from the water. Ride time lasts up to 45 minutes with the top-of-the-line Flex Battery XR and you can recharge within two hours. $12,900 w/Flex SR battery

Best Craft for Pretending You’re a Dolphin: Jet Shark

Remember the Innespace Seabreacher , the dolphin-shaped, jet-powered submersible from years back? It’s been reborn as the larger, more luxurious—and far more powerful— Jet Shark . Built by the co-creator of the Seabreacher, the craft’s composite body still resembles a fish but is decidedly more modern in appearance. Manipulate the joystick controller, however, and it can still leap out of the water, dive below the waves and bank like a fighter plane. The four-passenger craft is powered by a 420hp, naturally aspirated V8 Kodiak marine engine. Standout features include electro-hydraulic flight controls, an air-conditioned cabin, snorkel-mounted forward and rearview cameras for safety while below the water, and a shock-mitigating suspension system. $200,000 to $300,000

Special Features: —Four-seat, air-conditioned interior, joystick controls —Ability to dive, then jump above the water’s surface

Best Submersible for Couples: U-Boat Worx Nemo2

best yacht toys

The two-passenger Nemo2 submersible looks like a prop from a sci-fi movie, has the fit and finish of a supercar and the ability to navigate as deep as 330 feet (100 meters) below the surface. Take in your surroundings through the massive 5-cm thick acrylic sphere that encloses the cockpit. The Nemo’s Manta touchscreen and joystick control unit makes for intuitive maneuvering via the craft’s four electric thrusters. A single lifting point doesn’t require a cradle or davit. The sub can even be trailered like a pair of jet skis. $1.35 million

Special Features: —330 diving depth, two-person seating with acrylic dome —Can be trailered

Best Entry-Level Foiler: F101

best yacht toys

Foiling is the hottest thing in competitive sailing right now, judging from the last few America’s Cup and the SailGP series. For those who want to learn to sail fast with foils, the F101 trimaran might be the quickest, easiest way to get started, without having to do face plants with every bad tack. The F101 is used by college training programs which view foiling as the future of the sport. Ranked Boat of the Year by Sailing World magazine, the editors praised not only its easy-learning capacities but its prowess for transitioning into a high-performance sailing rig. “It’s the next step in making foiling accessible to the public,” wrote the editor. $24,700

Special Features: —Intuitive, introductory foiler —As skills progress, the boat turns into a racer

Best Pontoon Boat That Doubles as a Waterpark: Premier 330 Escalante

Effortlessly maneuver this 33-footer in tight confines thanks to intuitive joystick control. En route or at anchor, jam out with a premium JL Audio sound system and mood-setting LED lighting. A portable waterpark for you—and 21 of your best friends. Starting at $314,419 w/twin 300hp Mercury Verados

Special Features:  —Water slide on second deck —Large residential galley and enclosed head

Best Exercise Bike for the Water: Schiller S1-C

best yacht toys

Forget those clunky water bicycles found at the average beach resort. If they’re the watery equivalent of a Schwinn, Schiller ’s sleek S1-C looks ready to win a wet-and-wild Tour de France. Combining a sleek bicycle frame using an optimized propeller, proprietary gear box and Gates carbon-drive belts with a pair of rugged, 1100 denier PVC pontoons, the S1 is engineered for speed. A 1:7.5 gear ratio ensures maximum thrust at common cycling cadences. The handlebar-controlled steering mechanism directly turns the propeller, eliminating the need for a rudder. $5,750

Special Features: —Designed for speed with 1:75 gear ratio —Carbon-fiber pontoons

Best Water Slide: FreeStyle Cruiser NLS Inflatable Yacht Slide

best yacht toys

Inflatable slides are all the rage for the fun-loving yacht owner, but having to deal with multiple support legs can be cumbersome and bulky. Freestyle’s Cruiser NLS is designed to stand on its own. Custom fabricated to buyer’s specifications, slides are made from UV-stabilized, 29-ounce Firmatex vinyl and feature a patented internal design with four-layer welding. Lifting anchors are rated for 1000 kg of breaking strength. Slides come with custom lifting/storage bag, repair kit, and all required tools. Worried about punctures? They include an inflatable tube and towrope, 12-volt inflator, custom cover, soft-sided cooler, fenders, storage organizers, and even pop-up cleats. $20,399

Special Features: —Color touchscreen, Bluetooth Sound —Inflatable tube and towrope, custom cooler

Best for a One-Person Underwater Adventure: Seabob F5

best yacht toys

Once untouchable tech found mostly in Bond movies, “diver-propulsion vehicles” are now both a useful tool and cool play toy. Seabob’s F5 is powered by an emissions-free electric motor and enclosed impeller capable of reaching over twice the speed (14 mph) of Michael Phelps at his best. Its lithium-ion battery will run up to five hours; the unit can operate as deep as 130 feet. Use it when snorkeling or diving, or just pretend you’re a dolphin by diving and breaching at speed. $9,980

Special Features: —Top speed of 14 mph, electric motor and impeller —Five-hour charge time on lithium-hour battery

Best All-Purpose Inflatable: Rover Aero Bug Slinger Micro Skiff

best yacht toys

The name “Bug Slinger” may not be the most alluring, but the tough micro-skiff from Bote projects a can-do attitude for exploring, fishing, paddling or just enjoying sunsets. The inflatable vessel is part skiff, paddleboard and dinghy that weighs just 85 lbs., so transports in a travel bag. But it’s stable enough to use an outboard motor and carry up to 500 lbs. The streamlined conical wing is made of titanium. The carbon-fiber board is left in its natural state to show off both the fiber’s beauty and to shave weight. Even the MN Flite Controller gets attention, offering animated, realtime feedback via a round color display. Oh, and it charges wirelessly via an inductive charging dock. $19,995

Special Features: —Monobloc construction for lightness and strength —Advanced flight controller for wrist

Revolutionary snorkelling design

Recommended videos for you

The Subea Easybreath full face snorkel mask is certainly an eyebrow raiser, and we don’t mean just when you stretch it over your head!

For the creators of this neat piece of kit have taken a long hard look at the humble snorkel and come up with a redesign that’s not only revolutionary, but eye-catching (in all the right ways) too. Best of all, it works.

Available exclusively at Decathlon, who spent seven years perfecting the design, the Subea Easybreath essentially comprises two individual mask sections; one for vision, one for breathing.

An exclusive air circulation concept prevents fog from forming and the field of view is an unrestricted 180 degrees.

Ruckraft tow float/drybag

The idea behind the Ruckraft is simple. You’re anchored off a lovely beach, you fancy a swim ashore for an ice cream and a wander, but you have no way of taking your clothes, towel, phone and wallet with you.

Cue the Ruckraft! Inflated by simply blowing into it (it takes about 30 seconds), what you end up with is a Lilliputian inflatable dinghy.

There is a large (70L/25kg) drybag to swallow all your necessary bits and pieces, or even a tent, which secures to the raft using clips. And it’s available in a choice of colours (orange or yellow) for extra visibility in the water.

Airhead Super Mable

Three-person towable tube

The Airhead Super Mable is a good option for boat owners looking to get into the exciting world of towable tubes .

With the ability to carry up to three riders at once, the Super Mable is a good option for weekend party boats that are typically laden with several passengers.

While not as extreme as smaller, sportier variants, with a suitably experienced boat driver at the helm it can still deliver a surprisingly wild ride.

GoPro Hero 9

The ultimate action camera

Once you’ve stocked up your tender garage with all these amazing boating water toys, you’ll need something to film your adventures with, right?

Don’t be fooled into thinking all action cameras are the same, we’ve tried a number of different alternatives and none seem to offer the point and shoot simplicity of the GoPro range while still delivering consistently good footage regardless of light and shooting conditions.

They are perfectly suited for shooting on a boat for a number of key reasons. Firstly they are waterproof to 33ft (10m).

Secondly they have exceptional built-in stabilisation which corrects even the shakiest of hands and roughest of rides and thirdly they have ultra wide angle lenses with remarkably little distortion which make even the smallest of cabins look suitably palatial.

Price: £420 / $350

Red Paddle Co Compact SUP

Best-selling inflatable paddleboard

An inflatable SUP is a must-have boating water toy these days, but even when packed away a standard one takes up a lot of space on board.

RED’s new Compact SUP is specifically designed to solve that problem. A 10-year programme to develop the world’s most portable SUP has resulted in this new model which packs down into a backpack roughly half the size of a conventional one.

Crucially it claims to have achieved this without compromising the rigidity and stability for which its boards are renowned.

Geneinno Titan T1

Can’t afford your own submarine? The Geneinno Titan T1 underwater drone is the next best thing…

Back in 2020 we featured the DeepSeaker DS1 four-person personal submarine. However if your toy budget won’t stretch to €1 million for a proper submarine and substantially more for a superyacht big enough to park it on, there are more economical ways to explore the depths without getting wet.

The Geneinno Titan T1 is, according to its manufacturer, the deepest-diving consumer drone fitted with a 4K camera, and the first with a robotic arm.

Price: $2,799

Kawasaki SX-R stand-up jet ski

The latest SX-R Jet Ski has a top speed of well over 50 knots – if you’re brave enough!

There are two kinds of personal water craft (PWC) – the original stand-up style like this Kawasaki SX-R Jet Ski and the larger sit-down style such as the Seadoo Spark and Yamaha Waverider.

It is these sit-down models which now dominate the market, to such an extent that in 2011 Kawasaki discontinued its stand-up range altogether. The jet ski name lived on as a generic term to describe any form of PWC (it’s actually a Kawasaki registered trademark) but not the product itself.

For six years the line lay dormant until in 2017 Kawasaki launched a brand new Jet Ski called the SX-R – a pumped-up, pimped-up, stand-up model with eye-bleeding graphics and a monstrous 1,500cc four-stroke engine.

Hugo took the chance to test one in 2020, after reading some slightly alarming safety warnings…

Price: $11,599

Fliteboard Series 2

Electric foiling surfboard takes watersports to the next level

We think James Bond would have loved this boating water toy, but if the press release is anything to go by it looks as if the bad guys may have got there first: “Fliteboard has been quietly taking over the world since it launched in 2018” it trumpets.

Putting aside the trivial matter of global domination, we can’t help but marvel at this terrific machine, which single-handedly redefines the concept of cool waterborne running – move over PWCs.

Fliteboard – an electrically-powered hydrofoil which raises the rider approximately 70cm above the water – originates from Down Under and was conceived by former kite-surfing world record holder David Trewern.

He knocked up his first prototypes using a 3D printer (bought from Aldi) and before long was zipping around the bay near his home in Belongil Beach, New South Wales at speeds of up to 45 km/h.

If you’re still not convinced that this is one of the coolest boating water toys to hit the market in years, then check out the video above of Rob and Morgan Wylie crossing the English Channel on Fliteboards in 2021. It’s not just for pros either, this is another boating water toy that’s got Hugo’s personal seal of approval.

Price: €13,200

Awake Rävik S

This 30-knot electric jet board makes waveless surfing even cooler

The Rävik One and Rävik S are the latest in an exciting line of electric jet boards that can offer endless, waveless surfing. The electric surfboard concept continues to gather pace with two cool looking boards from Swedish brand Awake.

The Rävik One uses an 11kW brushless electric motor to achieve a top speed of 30 knots (9 knots faster than the YuJet and almost as quick as the petrol-powered Jetsurf that we covered in 2020).

MBY editor Hugo Andreae recently tested one, proving that even a surf-sceptic in his 50s can learn how to ride one in just a few hours.

Price: €15,900

Seabob F5 SR

The original and best underwater scooter

It’s long been a contender for the most desirable boating water toy out there, and now the redoubtable Seabob has been given even more grunt by its makers.

Dubbed ‘F5 SR’, this little beauty is the most powerful watercraft in the Seabob F5 series. Its E-Jet Power System delivers a mighty 745 Newtons of propulsive power – roughly two-and-a-half times as much force as a bullet leaving the muzzle of a rifle.

To keep its pilots on the straight and narrow, two rear fins provide stability and help improve manoeuvrability.

Price: €17,800

Narke Electrojet GT95

Carbon-hulled Jet Ski gets 50% power boost

We’ve all been there. An idyllic bay, the perfect sheltered anchorage, anchor set just so, bimini rigged, the first long cool drink of the afternoon and it starts – the dreaded Jet Ski of a neighbouring boat, droning up and down and up and down as everyone on board takes a turn and none have the wit to travel more than 500 metres in either direction.

Well, salvation might finally be at hand in the futuristic shape of a carbon fibre e-Jet Ski from Hungary nicknamed the Cyberjet!

A three-seater personal water craft, this new Narke Electrojet GT95 model is powered by a 95hp e-motor. This represents a 50% increase on Narke’s 65hp debut model, which was launched at the 2018 Cannes Yachting Festival.

The new 3.3-metre dinghy from Tiwal combines a rigid inflatable V-shaped hull with a full furling sail. It stows away compactly, making it a great choice for boats where toy storage is at a premium – yet it only takes 15 minutes to launch when you’re ready to set sail.

Bote ZeppelinAero 10' Kayak

When you want to set off alone to explore a beautiful bay, look no further than the Zeppelin Aero 10'. Featuring the brand’s AeroBOTE technology for utmost performance and stability, this inflatable kayak features a self-draining cockpit, a comfortable seat and plenty of room for storing a drinks cooler  or fishing rods.

Seabob F5 SR

The most powerful Seabob yet, the F5 SR packs a punch, propelled by a force of 745 newtons – that’s 265 more than the standard F5. It’s also more eco-friendly, thanks to an emissions-free E-Jet Power System. The F5 SR boasts improved handling, while an HD camera in the nose allows you to capture video footage as you glide underwater.

YuJet Surfer

Surf’s up no matter where you drop anchor with the YuJet Surfer. Built in carbon fibre, the lithium-ion-battery-powered jetboard has a 26-kilometre range. With the wireless remote control, you can toggle between two modes, and hit a top speed of 39km/h.

F-One Rocket Air 2021

Want a foiling board that can do it all? F-One’s Rocket Air range offers multi-tasking boards that can all be used for surf-foiling, SUP-foiling, wing-foiling, wind-foiling or kite-foiling. It’s ultra-lightweight for fast flying, and made from a high-grade dropstitch material for balance and control.

Think scuba diving without the cumbersome kit, and you have what Blu3 offers. This new battery-powered air-supply buoy lets you explore beneath the waves down to nine metres without a traditional aqualung. Incredibly simple to use, the tankless system pushes compressed air along a 12-metre tube for up to 60 minutes. How does it work? A sensor records the movement of a silicone diaphragm inside the smart regulator, then sends a signal to the pump that delivers more air at precisely the right time.

Onean Carver X

This new jet board is all about power. Designed to have two jets and two batteries, the Carver X is twice as powerful as its sibling, the Carver Twin. This also means it's the option for riders weighing more than 100 kilograms who want to reach planing speed in any conditions. Expect to get 40 minutes of drive out of the batteries, and you can also choose from five power levels as well as control the pressure settings to make this board drive how you want it to. Max speed is 45km/h.

Narke Electrojet

If you want a jet ski, there is no reason why you wouldn’t choose a pollution-free, noise-free option such as those from Narke. The Electrojet is a four-metre carbon-fibre jet ski with an ample swim platform and 71kW of power. Equivalent to 95 horsepower, you should expect to hit speeds of up to 40 knots while bombing around on the waves for about two hours between charges. It takes just 90 minutes to recharge and can carry up to three passengers. It’s so popular that this model has now sold out, but Narke is working on a new model and taking orders now.

Fast & Fun: The Coolest Yacht Toys for 2022

AquaKart

The superyacht toy business has lots to offer the toy chest on board with must-have water toys. Take your pick of options to enjoy the water, from spending a lazy afternoon soaking up the sun on the lounging inflatables to getting the heart pumping on a jet board ride above the water to a fast and fun SEABOB cruise under water. Here's our pick of the latest and greatest water toys guaranteed to increase the fun for your guests.

FunAir Shaded Oasis

The Shaded Oasis is a free-floating water retreat with couch seating, a dipping pool, and an ultralight UV shade — an evolution of FunAir ’s popular Floating Oasis. Through research and collaboration, the yachting canopy specialist Decktent worked with FunAir’s design and engineering team to bring the premium solution to the superyacht sector. The shade is made from the same ultra-lightweight materials and construction used in kiteboarding sails. Without the hassle of rigid framed shades, the Shaded Oasis comfortably fits eight adults and packs down into a sack, taking up very little storage on board. There’s also a netted splash area in the center for guests to take a dip into the water. And it can be quickly deployed, inflating in 15 minutes or less. This collaboration with Decktent also includes an inflatable shade accessory that can be fitted to the Wave Lounger series.

FunAir Club Chaise and Club Chair

The shape of the FunAir Club Chaise allows for lounging like in a traditional Chaise Lounge but with the space of a daybed, a perfect choice for two adults sunbathing as it also has enough support built in to sit up and enjoy a drink in the sunshine. Its innovative design allows it to float on water after removing the base section, creating a personal island to relax on. The Club Chaise also doesn’t need to be limited to the beach. Because it can be easily inflated, it can help transform deck spaces and provide additional seating on deck during a party or just a movie night on board. For a more formal and luxurious seating area, the Club Chair resembles a traditional two-person sofa or loveseat while maintaining the elements that people love about FunAir beach furniture.

There’s nothing quite like skimming along the water under sail. Now you can do so on a smaller scale with Tiwal ’s new 3R, a supercharged inflatable racing dinghy that’s portable in two bags. It’s a fun addition to any yacht’s toy offerings. As a bonus — this new sport dinghy is easy to assemble and disassemble in no more than 25 minutes, due in part to a light and easy-to-handle hull.

The Tiwal 3R’s performance is similar to that of rigid-hulled sailing dinghies but is easier to access. It planes quickly and its power allows it to play with the water, ride the waves, and make long runs with fast, consistent speed, according to Bertrand. The 10-foot, 6-inch Tiwal 3R weighs 121 pounds with a max load of 440 pounds. Prices start at $8,800.

AquaBanas Social Bana Deck, Jumbo Lounger, and Bana Tent

In June, AquaBanas launched their Recreational Line to enhance your summer experience. Made up of six items at launch, including their deck, tent, and lounger, all of these are modular and can connect to each other to create a wide variety of configurations. It holds six to eight people; the lounger adds an additional capacity for four.

The Social Bana Deck, Jumbo Lounger, and Bana Tent all connect to make for an amazing experience for charter guests (or crew who manage to sneak time off the yacht when no one else is around).

The modular pieces are designed for boats and tenders under 80 feet. It takes just 15 to 20 minutes to inflate and deflate and can be easily managed with a crew of two.

Aqua Race Kart

What’s better than riding a GoKart at an amusement park? Riding a GoKart on the water! Aqua Race Kart , a GoKart-inspired watercraft company, released their new product in February at the Miami boat show through Nautical Ventures, their exclusive Florida dealer in this new partnership.

It has a Rotax 900 ACE jet propulsion system and features a foot-operated throttle, digital gauge cluster, adjustable steering and seating, and onboard dry storage. It also has shifting for neutral, forward, and reverse drive. You have options for custom graphics, various seat sizes, and Rotax 900 ACE Engine (60 or 90). Designed to have a uniquely lower center of gravity for unmatched stability and performance, the Aqua Kart hull operates in calm water — it’s not intended for use in choppy or rough water conditions. $22,000, plus $1,000 shipping.

F-One Rocket Air 2021

Add a foiling board to the toy box that is versatile to accommodate different sports and all types of guests and riders with F-One’s Rocket Air range . Starting at 4’10” to 7’11”, their boards can be used for whatever sport suits the mood best, including surf-foiling, SUP-foiling, wing-foiling, wind-foiling, or kite-foiling. Nearly indestructible and made with some extra padding if you fall, Rocket Air boards are made using high-grade dropstitch, adding stiffness to control the board properly and lightweight to make it fun and easy to handle. €659.

FunAir Modular Beach Club Sea Pool with Jet Ski Dock

The limit of activities that can be enjoyed on the water doesn’t exist with the FunAir Modular Beach Club Sea Pool. Pictured is the custom-built version and a Jet Ski dock for M/Y Nomad with a nonslip, teak-look finish. Numerous set ups can be deployed quickly and easily with this pool configuration, so the watersports and activities planned can begin even sooner. Built in four separate sections, it’s easy to clean and pack away, even with minimal crew.

Onean Carver X

Looking for a little more oomph on the water? The new Onean Carver X offers double the power — 10kW — of its predecessor, the Carver Twin model. This is an added benefit to allow riders weighing more than 90 kilograms to quickly and easily reach the plane. The dual jet propulsion system comes with two batteries, with a ride time of approximately 40 minutes of mixed speed use and a top speed of around 45 kilometers per hour. As with all of Onean’s products, the batteries and remote control are the same for each model, so they can be easily interchanged. You can select between five power levels and control your pressure settings to create the perfect ride. €10,990.

SEABOB F5 SR

Soar across the water at a force of 745 newtons on the new SEABOB F5 SR — that’s 265 more than the F5 model. The eco-friendly toy has an emission-free E-Jet Power System and the F5 SR’s HD camera in the nose lets you record amazing video footage while sailing underwater through your stunning surroundings. This new model offers more driving stability with its two rear fins, which also improve its maneuverability during any dive. €14,935.

The fun factor of the water toy

When it comes to ranking the best water toys for a superyacht, the fun factor of each toy is definitely a top criteria. After all, the whole point of a superyacht is to maximise enjoyment on the water, and water toys are a key part of this equation. From jet skis to inflatable slides, the most exciting and exhilarating water toys are always in high demand among yacht owners and guests alike. But it’s not just about the adrenaline rush: water toys that are easy to use, safe, and versatile can also score highly in terms of fun factor. Whether you’re looking to try something new or simply enjoy the classics, the best water toys for a superyacht are sure to provide hours of endless entertainment and enjoyment.

How much space the toy needs to be stored in your superyacht

When it comes to storing toys on a superyacht, space is always at a premium. Before purchasing a toy, it is important to consider its size and storage requirements. Some toys, such as inflatable water slides or kayaks, can be easily deflated and stored compactly. Others, such as a large jet ski or a motorized surfboard, may require a dedicated storage space on the yacht or a separate garage onshore. It is also important to consider the weight of the toy, as certain superyachts may have weight restrictions or limitations on where toys can be stored. Overall, thoughtful consideration of storage space is crucial in ensuring that all toys can be safely and securely stored on a superyacht.

Who can enjoy the water toy the most

The water toy in question caters to a wide audience due to its user-friendly design and requires minimal physical fitness. It boasts a short learning curve, making it accessible to all ages and skill levels, especially children. Its compact size and lightweight nature guarantee effortless transportation, allowing for exciting outdoor water play for families on-the-go. Its versatility calls for a range of fun activities, including creative watercraft racing and thrilling diving games.

The risk of injuries of the toy

The waters toy on a yacht can pose a significant risk of injury if not used in a safe and responsible manner. These toys are designed to enhance a yacht’s water-based activities, adding an element of excitement and adventure to a leisurely voyage. However, it is crucial to remember that these toys can also be dangerous, particularly if the safety guidelines are not followed. Activities like jetskiing and wakeboarding require a high level of skill and experience, and it is essential to wear appropriate safety equipment like life jackets or helmets. With proper training and attention to safety guidelines, the waters toy can be a fun and enjoyable addition to any yacht trip.

Some of the pros of using a sea pool include the ability to control the temperature of the water, the convenience of having a private swimming area right onboard your yacht, and the added luxury that they provide. However, there are also some cons to consider, such as the space they take up on the yacht and the maintenance required to keep them clean and in good condition. Powered by a water jet that outperforms conventional prop systems, it’s emission-free, with stackable batteries and a mesh that safeguards against debris intake. An automatic shut-off system prevents runaways, while the LED nose illuminates night-time adventures. It can even be used to motorize a paddleboard or kayak.

5. Zapata Flyboard Pro

A man is propelled high above the sea by two large water jets

If flying above a superyacht, Avengers -style, appeals to you, then the Flyboard is one of the best water toys to opt for. Using only water-jet propulsion, it’ll elevate you up to 65 feet (20 m) into the air and even enable you to perform impressive acrobatics. All it takes is a pair of boots attached to the Flyboard with jet nozzles underneath, a long hose connected to a watercraft to provide thrust . . . and plenty of practice. It’s the coolest water jetpack around, and the closest thing to really feeling as if you can fly like a superhero.

6. Miss Wonderly by Falcon Tenders

best yacht toys

Miss Wonderly, the all-new diesel-electric limousine tender from British boatbuilder Falcon Tenders, is a work of art. At 10.5 m (34 ft) it’s small enough to fit in a superyacht tender garage, yet large enough to transport guests from yacht to shore in serious style. Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizers mitigate pitch and roll in rough seas, while the lithium battery banks provide electric power up to 10 knots. In open water, the diesel engine kicks in to offer a rapid top speed of 35 knots. The result is a sustainable balance between reduced fuel emissions, noiseless cruising, and greater performance—not to mention one of the most elegant tenders with the highest quality finish around.

The Crystal SUP—a transparent board—answers that very question with views of the water beneath your feet up to depths of 82 feet (25 m). It’s UV protected, which guarantees that the transparency will remain intact for years to come, while a nifty anti-slip foam pad makes it easy to stay on board.

8. Albus Golf Ecobioballs

A man plays golf aboard a sup yacht moored in a marina

If you’ve ever longed to tee off under the setting sun from the aft deck of a superyacht but were worried about the environmental impact, you’re in luck. As the world’s first biodegradable golf ball, with fish food in its core, the Ecobioball from Albus Golf offers an eco-friendly solution. One hundred percent safe for marine flora and fauna, the ball is manufactured using non-contaminating materials and features an external layer that biodegrades in less than 48 hours. It’s the perfect way to practice your swing, while also improving the sustainability and biodiversity of the marine environment around you.

best-superyacht-water-toys

1. Personal Watercraft

PWC like Jet Skis are a classic for a reason – riding one can be some of the most fun you can have on the water. They’re fast, maneuverable and will give you an adrenaline rush every time you hop on! Available in either stand up or sit down models, a PWC is something you will certainly want on your superyacht charter.

est-superyacht-water-sports

A Seabob will have you feeling a little bit like James Bond as you explore the world under or over water. It’s almost like a little hand-held personal watercraft that tows you like a sled without requiring any fins or swimming effort on your behalf. Speedy, manoeuvrable and a whole lot of fun, a Seabob is one of the most enjoyable toys to have on your luxury yacht charter.

3. Jet Packs

A water-powered jet pack is a recently developed water toy that will literally have you flying like something out of a science fiction movie! The jet pack works by sucking up seawater and directing it through nozzles on a backpack or board, which provides thrust. Able to fly up to 10m or so, the bike-like controls will see you climbing, diving and making smooth, stable turns. It’s an adrenaline rush like no other that you won’t want to miss out on!

4. Scuba Diving and Snorkelling Gear

Relatively low-tech compared to the first three options, scuba gear or basic snorkelling gear are a must-have on any yacht charter. Chances are that wherever you’ve chosen to embark on a luxury yacht charter, there will be an abundant array of sea life to explore beneath the water’s surface and having snorkelling gear or scuba diving gear on hand is often the quickest and most enjoyable way of exploring.

5. Fliteboards

Made from carbon fibre and aircraft-grade aluminium, the Fliteboard can soar through the water at up to 24 knots. The propeller is powered by a handheld Bluetooth remote and keeps you moving along the surface while a hydrofoil lifts the rider out of the water and zooms along at an impressive speed. This one is definitely for the thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies out there!

6. Stand-Up Paddleboards

If you’re looking to explore above the water, or are looking to get to a hard-to-reach spot on the coast, then a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) is the toy for you. Low-tech in that it’s manually paddle-powered, it can also be used similarly to a surfboard in that you can catch waves with it for a bit of excitement.

7. Jetboards

Not all charter locations have surfing waves, and even those that do can have days with little to no swell. A battery-powered electric surfboard, otherwise known as a Jetboard can be one way to experience a sensation similar to surfing without needing surf waves. They’re also great for beginners, which makes them a good choice to have on your luxury yacht charter.

8. Inflatable Slides and Climbing Walls

A staple with most superyacht charters, inflatable slides and climbing walls will provide hours of fun. Imagine sliding down the side of your chartered superyacht into warm tropical waters, and then racing your friends back up the climbing wall to the deck!

best-yachting-water-toys

An oldie but a goodie, a kayak is one of the best ways to leisurely take in the surroundings wherever you travel to and to explore the world’s most breathtaking coastlines. There are very few water sports that offer relaxation and exhilaration, but a sunrise kayak can be one of the best ways to embrace the day on your next yacht charter. Depending on where you charter you might even be able to kayak with dolphins!

10. Inflatables

Most superyachts will have a selection of inflatables available on your charter. Inflatables such as a banana boat are designed to be towed behind a tender and can provide hours of fun!

The 10 Coolest Toys To Add To Your Superyacht 2021

The best yacht toys to upgrade your charter..

If the sundeck is the best part of a yacht, then the toys are the second best. Right? Whether your answer is yes or no, you gotta admit — the toys make a yacht charter fun for all ages.

The best superyacht toys let you relax, play, and explore a destination. You could be sipping a cocktail on an inflatable island one minute, and the next, you’re deep diving in a submarine. The toys make all the difference. We already know the top-rated tenders , so here are the 10 coolest toys to add to your superyacht in 2021. Seriously, it’s time to upgrade that inflatable flamingo.

1. Triton 660/2

Triton 660/2 pictured with MIZU

It’s tough to compete with a luxury two-seater submarine that can reach depths of 660 feet. Triton 660/2 is built to explore the world’s most remote destinations, like Antarctica or Australia. With this submarine you can dive far enough underwater to see photo-luminescent creatures, rare invertebrates, and large pelagic mammals. And by pelagic mammals we mean diving alongside penguins as they leap from icebergs in Antarctica. How’s that for adventure? Perfect addition to a yacht such as Mizu .

2. AquaBanas Pop3 Pool Resort

AquaBanas Pop3 Pool Resort

The Pop3 Pool Resort is the best way to enjoy the water in comfort and style. While it looks like a 4 day mission to inflate, you can customize the island and add different elements. You can add king lounges, decks, docks, swim platforms, party banas, or a pool. AquaBanas can even add your yacht’s branding and colors. Brb, ordering now.

3. Red Shark Water Bike

Red Shark Water Bike

Not every yacht has a gym, and you don’t need one if you have a Red Shark bike . When you’re anchored off the coast of Mallorca and want to explore around the cliffs and archipelagos, this water bike will get you there. And boy, is it a great workout! This water bike is an inflatable, portable, eco-friendly toy for fitness or adventure. It’s also convenient to store on your yacht .

4. FunAir Climbing Wall

FunAir Climbing Wall

Fitness can be fun. Especially when you’re scaling the port side of a yacht on an inflatable rock climbing wall. This FunAir Climbing Wall is great for guests of all ages. It features handholds, climbing ropes, and courses to suit differing abilities. It’s easy for crew to inflate with a RapidFlate system. Race you to the top.

5. WASZP Foil Racing Boat

WASZP Foil Racing Boat

If you’ve always wanted to race like you’re in America’s Cup, then you’ll want to add a WASZP foil racing boat to your superyacht. The foil design creates a fast, stable platform with good performance. The foils are not sharp and provide the safest experience for those learning to foil for the first time. There are enough controls to keep the sailing entertaining for the experienced sailor.

6. Seabob F5 SR

Seabob F5 SR

Seabobs are known and loved as a favorite superyacht toy. But the Seabob F5 SR is a game-changer. It has a 10% performance boost increasing the underwater speed to 12 mph and the surface speed to 14 mph. The Seabob F5 SR also comes with 2 cameras — one facing outward to capture the underwater world, the other is an action selfie cam (because who doesn’t love those bubbly underwater smiles?). You can upgrade this Seabob with your favorite colors or branding for the icing on the cake.

7. Tandem Jetovator

Tandem Jetovator

You know those water jetpacks that were super popular in 2018? How much more fun would they be if you could fly with two people? The Tandem Jetovator makes that possible. It’s a superyacht toy that looks like a motorbike without wheels. It’s propelled by a hose and can be controlled from the front or rear seat. It’s a great toy for beginners who want to fly safely with an instructor. This toy is perfect for a Caribbean yacht charter onboard EXCELLENCE .

8. FunAir Big Air Blob

FunAir Big Air Blob

Despite an incredibly awesome name, Big Air Blob is also a super cool toy that guests will enjoy on your yacht. It’s purposely engineered for superyachts, with side stabilising outriggers to handle ocean waves and a fitted cradle to keep the blob safely positioned away from the hull. Jump from the top of the yacht, onto the blob, to launch the person flying into the air for the ultimate thrill.

9. LIFT eFoil

LIFT eFoil

Alright, alright, there are plenty of different versions of an electric hydrofoil surfboard, but the LIFT eFoil has the best reviews. It’s fast, light, and durable with an improved battery for ride times of 120 minutes at 30 miles per hour. It looks more intimidating than it is — seriously, it’s a toy for beginners and pros. The new models have four available size options, with new shapes for better maneuverability, plus nine advanced hydrofoil wing options. Surf’s up.

10. RoboSea Robo-Shark

RoboSea Robo-Shark

Don’t be alarmed — this Robo-Shark is an underwater drone that looks and moves like a shark. It comes with automatic obstacle avoidance and a multi-joint caudal fin that reduces water noise. The Robo-Shark is perfect for professional or aspiring photographers as it can be fitted with nearly any camera, communication, or sensor rig. Why does it look like a shark? So it can get close to marine life and snag the best bite, errr, footage.

Whether you’re into sailing, surfing, snorkeling, relaxing, or being a kid, superyacht toys are improving each year. Make sure your boat is loaded with the best selection for private or commercial yacht charter . Contact a Denison yacht broker to upgrade your yacht, boat, or charter experience.

Must-Have Water Toys for Kids and Adults on Boats

30th may 2023 by toi williams.

Rightboat logo

Whether cruising to a distant island on a large yacht or meandering down a lazy river on a pontoon boat, having a stockpile of water toys aboard will expand your boating playground beyond the deck of your vessel and entertain the kids of all ages on your boat. Water toys also provide a stellar way to explore your destinations, generate thrills, and make the most of every trip.

If you need help deciding what toys you should get, we’ve got some suggestions, starting off with a good set of snorkeling masks and fins, as well as comfortable lifejackets for all aboard. That way everyone is ready for the water and, as the captain, you’re looking after them, too.

What else might you take along? Here are several water toys for boats worth adding to your collection, depending on your crew’s interests and the size of your boat.

Towable Tubes

Is a boating excursion ever complete without some spontaneous tubing? Tubes are the quintessential water toy, especially if you have a power boat that can reach exciting speeds. You'll typically see boats pulling towable tubes around lakes and rivers, giving youthful riders the thrill of a lifetime.

If you and your boat more often run on the ocean, across bays, and in harbors, don't worry—there are still plenty of good times for tubing. It might be after a refreshing morning dip with a cup of coffee, while trailing off the stern, or on a hot afternoon with the kids, towing in slow motion.

The beauty of tubing is that you can use these toys the way you want. If the kids are ready for it, you can pull your family faster and even give the most adventurous some killer airtime.

Tube designs and sizes vary and can hold single or multiple riders. Layouts include “flat deck,” “wing,” “donut” and “chariot” style. The best of these come with strongly reinforced tow points, padded grab handles, and durable fabrics.

Towable tube

Hydrofoils are like a physics experiment gone right. Hydrofoil bikes and boards were hard to get your hands on a few years ago. But today, they're a cool toy that many boaters would love to try.

The concept is simple. As the bike or board begins to move, the underwater wings deflect the water flow downward, generating a lifting, upward force. Using a manual hydrofoil board can be a good workout; the newer electric models are available, too. Brands like Delta Hydrofoils, Lift Foils, and Fliteboard make toys that entertain adults and kids for hours on the water.

Underwater Scooters

Get your hands on the best underwater scooter money can buy, and you can explore the depths to your heart's content. When most people think of water toys, they picture devices that skim along the surface. Underwater scooters give you a brand-new way to enjoy the water.

Scooters come in numerous shapes and designs. However, most are hand-held and relatively portable. Once they're in their element, propulsion systems will move you along with both speed and maneuverability. Fins keep you stable, but you have plenty of freedom to follow whatever course you like. Compare scooters for battery life, speed, and safety features, as well as price.

Underwater scooter

Tankless Diving System

Snorkeling is a boating mainstay because seeing aquatic life below the surface is fun and a chance to learn. But going deeper can be super exciting. If your crew aren’t SCUBA certified, consider investing in a tankless diving system. Also known as "hookah diving," this unique activity lets you explore without cumbersome air compression tanks weighing you down.

Powered by gas or electric engine, a dedicated air compressor floats on the surface, following you as you swim, delivering air via a hose and mouth regulator. Depending on your chosen system, you can dive as deep as 40 feet and spend up to an hour breathing comfortably. Some models with multiple hoses even let you descend with others.

Either way, tankless diving systems are a unique water toy everyone on your boat will want to try—and for those who don’t regularly pull their boat out on a trailer, these systems come in handy when you’re ready to clean your boat’s bottom.

Water Skis and Wakeboards

Designed for smooth gliding across the water’s surface,, both water skiis and wakeboards provide hours of weekend fun. The main difference between the two sports is that wakeboarding requires a board on which you stand with both feet, while water skiing usually requires two skis, one for each foot.

There are many choices in buying a used boat for waterskiing, but for wakeboarding, a fast motorboat with an inboard engine is the norm as they are safer and create a better and even customizable wake.  As captain of your boat, you’ll need some practice maneuvering a boat for water skiers and wakeboarders, and will need to adjust it to their skill level – so there is plenty of fun to be had in learning new skills, whether you’re on the boat or in the water.

Paddleboards

Paddleboards are a hot item these days, building core strength and offering zen-like vibes and relaxation, all of which make them hugely popular the world over. While rigid paddleboards can be space consuming, the latest inflatable boards can easily be tucked into the smallest of boats. And it doesn’t matter what kind of boat you have, making them ideal for everything from RIBS to sailing yachts. Simply inflate and off you go, exploring quiet coves, gentle bays and uncrowded coastlines. For many, these are among the best boating toys on the market.

PWCs (Jet Skis)

If you're a thrill-seeker with a larger yacht, bringing along a PWC (personal watercraft), often called a Jet Ski, is a no-brainer. Built for one rider or two, think of a PWC as a personal cruiser. Jet Ski is a brand made by Kawasaki, with competitors made by Yamaha, Bombardier, and Honda.

These toys work well in most boating environments, offering range and excitement to explore your watery surroundings, sometimes at speeds as high as 70mph. Designed for one or two riders, PWCs allow you to conquer choppy waters, race your friends, or take your kid as a passenge  so you can cut across and through the waves together.

For several decades, PWCs have been gas-powered, with a waterjet propulsion system. Recently, all-electric-powered systems have been developed that you should consider. Keep in mind the hauling and storage requirements for your boat.

Jet ski

Want the excitement of a Jet Ski in a more compact package? Jet boards may be the way for you to go. Either powered by gas engines or 11kW (15hp) electric engineers with jet-pump or propeller drives, these compact carbon-fiber toys let you zip through calm waters without the power of a wave that a surfboard usually needs.

They're fast, can carve sharp turns, and even catch some air, providing for a great afternoon of fun once you reach your destination. Be warned: Mastering a jet board can be challenging for some! Imagine having a propulsion system strapped to your surfboard. It may take some time to get into the swing of things. But trust us, the work you put in will be well worth it in the end.

Windsurfers and kite surfers

These high adrenaline, wind-powered sports need little introduction and have been entertaining boaters for years. While a windsurf board and sail will take up substantial room on your boat, a kite board and sail are a more compact option if space is at a premium. There is a learning curve, but that’s what makes the challenge such a thrill. Start off slow, take some lessons to ensure you stay safe, and you’ll be a pro in no time at all.

Inflatable, ocean-going kayaks are far more than kids beach boating toys, and provide for hours of fun coastal explorations. Sturdy, well-built and tough, these kayaks fit into any space on board and can be easily inflated with a simple foot pump in a few minutes. Some even come equipped with a small sail, allowing you to take a break from paddling and drift along the breeze.

One-, two-, or three-seater models are available meaning the whole family can enjoy paddling along rocky coasts, or ride on one as a nifty way to get to shore instead of using a motorized tender. If you’ve got room on board for a rigid kayak you can opt for a glass-bottomed model, perfect for tropical locations with great visibility.

Everyone's seen these crazy contraptions on YouTube or at popular beach destinations and vacation hubs. But did you know that you could buy your own? Flyboards have many names, but the concept is all the same—hydroflying! The board takes the water output from a PWC and blasts it through a series of nozzles to create a water-propulsion system.

Strap into the board, and you can fly over 70 feet in the air! If you've ever watched a seasoned flyboarding enthusiast show off, you know the sky's the limit for tricks and stunts. Propel under the water, do flips, and create a spectacle.

Flyboard

Personal Subs

Believe it or not, you can buy your own personal-sized submarine. Of course, submarines are costly, but relatively speaking they are only a minor add-on for the small superyacht you’ll buy to carry it around. If you're lucky enough to own one of those ships, consider a submarine for your ultimate water toy. Personal submersibles can launch from yacht tender garages, typically using a small crane, and they can dive several hundred meters.

Great for exploring coral reefs and underwater shipwrecks with two or more passengers aboard, these toys have everything you need to enjoy the underwater view in luxury. While a submarine, or some of the other water toys we’ve described may seem a little bit crazy, have some fun thinking about what you can take along to enrich your experience on the water. And at a minimum, don’t forget the snorkels, masks, and fins!
