This Kelsall 46 is a fine example of this popular catamaran designed by the famed multihull designer Derek Kelsall. Derek has been influential in the world of modern catamaran design concepts and did an excellent job when building this particular model . She makes for a perfect, stable & comfortable family cruiser or to operate as a charter boat in Indonesia where there's a shortage of quality catamarans available.
She can accommodate 8 guests in four cabins and the saloon is spacious with a large U-Shaped dining area that opens directly to the cockpit.
She underwent a refit in 2022 - 23 with her interior remodelled and repainted, all new upholstery, new electronics including new Radar, GPS, Plotter, 2 x new 60hp ISUZU engines were installed giving her a smoother ride and more power. The cockpit has a new teak laid deck and a stainless steel framed bimini offering full shade over that area. There's solar panels and a sturdy davit system for her tender and 25hp Yamaha outboard
In August 2023 she was antifouled and shafts replaced, this Kelsall 46 is available now and ready for your inspection.

This magnificent catamaran with a classic design benefits from a double beautiful origin: The architectural signature of Derek Kelsall (very famous designer of racing trimarans, countless catamarans of all sizes, precursor of the manufacture of foam-glass-polyester resin sandwiches and inventor of the KSS construction principle used for the 58″ and manufacture by the Ballota cantiere navale shipyard. Ballota is a builder of Italian origin who has been in Peru since the 1960s and enjoys an excellent reputation in the construction of custom multihulls of all sizes.
This Kelsall 58 model is completely representative of the know-how of the shipyard: remarkable maneuvering, piloting and deck layout ergonomics, classic interior design, beautiful club atmosphere (comfortable saloon, cozy lounge, interior bar, superb exterior saloon under rigid bimini , 3 beautiful double guest cabins with shower room and wc, 1 double single and 2 crew cabins in forward peaks). The equipment is complete and corresponds to the standard of an international class unit (powerful engine, air conditioning, double generator, watermaker, etc.).
The build quality is obvious, the structure is robust and the whole is very well made. Opportunity for extended traveling family, charter pursuit or comfortable long trip (catamaran easy to maneuver and use (furling boom, electric winches, generous motorization).

Kelsall Catamarans was established in Cornwall, United Kingdom in 1965. The company's boat design and boat building operations produced a wide range of craft, all based on the use of PVC foam. Three projects by this company were the largest boats of their type at the time.
We have over 40 years of specialising in catamarans and composites, and developing the KSS (Kelsall Swiftsure Sandwich) custom build process. We are the World Leaders in this field. Kelsall Catamarans Limited now runs its successful office from New Zealand since moving here in 1998.

As a designer, builder, sailor, and one of the most innovative pioneers in the development of modern multihulls, the late Derek Kelsall left an enduring legacy of experience, style, and groundbreaking ideas.
Kelsall Catamarans, the design company he established in Cornwall, United Kingdom, in 1965, became renowned for its expertise in using PVC foam to produce a wide range of craft.
For 20 years, Derek operated a boat-building company alongside the design firm, creating some of the largest and most advanced multihulls of their time. In 1998, the company relocated to New Zealand, where it continues to operate.
Though Derek Kelsall is no longer with us, his innovative spirit lives on through Kelsall Catamarans.
The company remains dedicated to offering both standard designs from an extensive range of power, sailing, racing, and commercial boats, as well as custom designs tailored to meet specific needs. His vision endures, ensuring that his cutting-edge designs can still be realized today.
