Golden Yachts was established in 1996 and is a trusted specialist in high-end large yacht construction and major refit projects, with its affiliated premises located in Greece. Golden Yachts is able to draw on its experience and knowledge of different sectors within the maritime industry.

The first and the second-generation owners of Golden Yachts are active in the Greek shipping industry and combine their commercial shipping experience and expertise to their successful charter business platform (taking into consideration the insights of owners, charter clients, Captains and crews) resulting to an overall evolving the Golden Yachts brand.

Golden Yachts is proud to have successfully delivered to date, the 56-metre O’Mathilde (refit), the 46- metre My Eden (refit), the 51-metre Jaz by Amels (refit) and the 56-metre O’Natalina by Picchiotti (refit), all forming part of the shipyards first batch of refit projects.

The company invested in its own project and engineering teams, gearing up for refit projects but also working towards bringing new yacht construction in-house. This came to fruition in 2007 with the launch of the first GY 50 series yacht, O’Ptasia (now Vertigo), O’Neiro and O’Rama.

New shipyard facilities followed in 2010, and in 2011 the award-winning semi-displacement 39.5-metre O’Pati emerged. The 2010s marked a change of pace for Golden Yachts which upped its rhythm with the construction of the 71.85-metre O’Pari3, launched in 2015, the 85-metre O’Ptasia (2018) and the 95-metre O’Pari (2020), all of which confirm the company’s push to significantly larger builds. After the delivery of the 88m PROJECT X (2022) new build projects include the 78m yacht O’REA, the 60m O’EVA and the 35m O’NEIRO.

“Therefore, it takes a really special beach club to impress the judges. And on that score, Project X did not disappoint. It is an innovative space that simultaneously showcases a museum-quality tender, serves as a launch pad for watersports, a lobby lounge for the spa, a games area and provides a lounge experience in its own right. The key element of the warm and welcoming space is a circular seating area the designer describes as a “spinning nest”.

Wooden slats rise up from the backrests and integrate with the haloed ceiling to act as an architectural backdrop. But far from being confining or static, the sofas and their backdrop rotate and split into sections to provide various views through opening hull doors or, alternatively, to allow the stunning bar to be the focus”.

We recently completed the construction of our new shipyard. This includes integrated state-of-the-art technology such as underground gas welding pipes and incorporates a special infrastructure for new building projects. For more than 50 years the Basimakopoulos family continues with passion and dedication the long boat building tradition of our country. Our shipyard, having built more than 380 wooden vessels of various types and sizes, many of which have been certified by Greek or foreign classification bodies, boasts that it holds one of the first places on the podium of the Greek traditional boat builders.

1. PROJECT STEEL | 112 ft BUGARI

This motor yacht has amazing fuel efficiency and is perfect for longer charters!

M/Y Project Steel was built by Italian shipbuilder Bugari in 1993. It has since undergone an extensive refit of both interior and exterior in 2020 , including an extension of the stern and shortening of the bow to make for a more modern look.

Project Steel features 5 cabins accommodating 12 guest s and is manned by a long-standing crew of 6 .

Why I like this yacht

I think this is a really ideal boat for an intermediate – someone who is getting used to yachting and wants a decent-sized boat for a very good price . Project Steel goes for a prize of only €60,000 in the high season and €49,000 in the low season, and is subject to as little as 6.5% VAT .

What is very interesting about this yacht is its incredibly low fuel cost – it only takes 130 Liters per hour , whereas yachts this size normally would take about 5-700 Liters. This makes Project Steel a really great choice for those wishing to do longer charters throughout the Cyclades, where a lot of motoring is to be expected.

We have chartered this yacht many times always with excellent client feedback.

Project Steel also offers a good collection of water toys including 1 Jet Ski , Sea Bob, Kneeboard, Wakeboard, Water Skis (adult and kids), Tubes, SUP, Kayak, Floating Mats, Fishing Gear, and Snorkel Gear.

This motor yacht is a total eye-catcher and is great for young people who want a fun and good-looking yacht!

M/Y Golden Yacht was built by the Italian shipbuilder San Lorenzo in 2014 and underwent a full refit in 2024 . Characterized by expansive windows that flood the interior with natural light, the yacht offers a striking 360-degree panoramic view from the saloon. She has 5 cabins , comfortably accommodating 10 guests and is manned by a crew of 6 .

The yacht’s sundeck , partially sheltered by a hardtop, provides great space for relaxation and entertainment, featuring a dining area, sunbathing amenities, and a Jacuzzi . Notably, a fold-down balcony extends the outdoor living space, while a swimming platform off the stern enhances water access and enjoyment.

In my opinion, this is the ideal yacht for younger charter guests who wish to get from A to B quickly. On top of that,t she is a total eye-catcher with a modern and elegant design . Her interior is thoroughly designed with great attention to detail, – it is very light and fashionable, with lots of art on the walls.

M/Y Summer Fun was built by the Italian Shipbuilder Admiral in 2001 and underwent an extensive refit in 2021 , fitting a brand-new interior in a modern design in an earthy palette of beige, cream, and brown.

Accommodating up to 12 guests across 6 cabins , including a master suite, a VIP suite convertible to a playroom, and four twin cabins convertible to doubles, Summer Fun can conveniently be adjusted to fit different types of charter groups. Stabilizers for use underway and on-anchor guarantee smooth cruising.

I usually recommend Summer Fun for a busy itinerary with a focus on packing a lot of action into the itinerary and moving swiftly between locations. Summer Fun has two big engines, – note the engine is a bit hungrier compared to Project Steel, nevertheless, the maximum speed is 29 knots compared with the 13.5 knots of Project Steel. This is a great choice for groups that are less about cruising and more about actually seeing the islands.

Another big draw of this yacht is its very competitive price. You can charter Summer Fun for only €65,000 during high season, €55,000 during mid-season, and €45,000 during low season. This is an exceptional price for a 101-foot boat, just compare it with the other yachts on this list.

We book this yacht quite a lot – it is a great all-around yacht, fulfilling all needs in terms of speed, living space, luxury amenities, and water toys, AND it comes at a very good price .

I would recommend this yacht for 2-3 couples with some kids who are looking to do efficient cruising around the Cyclades, visiting lots of destinations while minimizing the time spent underway.

6. ENDLESS SUMMER | 130 ft WESTPORT

This motor yacht has 6 cabins, making her perfect for large groups + she has a massive water toy selection!

This fantastic 134 ft Westport is a bit of a rarity in the Mediterranean. Westports are built in Washington and are popular boats in the Caribbean area, Bahamas, and Miami, but not many have made the jump across the Atlantic to the Med. Recreating a Myth:

Building argo, reppos boatbuilders.

Our 'relationship' with the sea and boat creation goes way back. When Giannis Reppos (the father) started to build traditional boats in 1958. Through decades he was passing his knowledge of Traditional Shipbuilding to his son Nikolaos. A professional paddle man who won with the National Hellenic Team 2 third place medals in Balkan Games, two gold national medals and who grew up, watching his father, carving the wood and creating 'new born' boats.

In 60 years, REPPOS BOATYARD construct more than 1500 vessels of all types (traditional and modern boats professional and recreational), from 3 to 28.5 meters.

We also reconstructed, converted and repaired hundreds of boats.
