Here's an interesting fact about the Quartzsite Yacht Club: despite being located in the middle of the desert, over a hundred miles from the nearest body of water, it's the holds the largest yacht club membership in the world. For just $25 you can join, and get this - the membership is honored by other, actual yacht clubs that practice reciprocity. Pretty awesome, plus you get a tshirt, membership cards, and a big flag. Fabulous place! Omar & Mimi are the coolest, most attentive folks! Had a little glitch with my order and Omar was immediately attentive to fixing it. Had a fabulous cheese burger! Played some pool and had a great time. If you're in Quartzsite, be sure to stop in and have a bite, play some pool, & do a little dancing!
This would and SHOULD have been a 4 star rating. The food was good, really good. Staff was really friendly and polite. Has a nice set up. But the local drunk harassing us as we ate lunch at 1:30pm totally ruined the experience. They have a OTB so I assume that is why he was there, but none the less, too aggressive, almost to the point of having to defend ourselves physically, it was that close. BEWARE.
Best motel (of two) in Quartzsite. Unfortunately, a slow drip in the shower left a nasty ring of mold around the bottom. Hopefully that'll be fixed by the time you get here. But other than that, it is a good place to lay your head with reasonable rates.
I echo what reviewer RussB. wrote. Stayed there in January and found it clean with helpful staff and very quirky. would stay again.
Should travelers stop for the night in Quartzite, Ariz., - perhaps the result of automobile breakdown or some other misfortune - they will benefit (both culturally and socially) by staying at the town's Yacht Club motel, a seemingly ramshackle assembly of trailer houses that serves as one of the town's two lodging facilities. (The other is a poorly rated Super 8.) The Yacht Club's staff is friendly, and the accommodations are spacious and reasonably clean. The price is right, too. In late February 2011, I paid $59 for "room" 102, which was said to have the strongest wireless signal. Indeed, it worked great, which was helpful because AT&T apparently doesn't offer cellular service to this hamlet. Next door, a lively bar full of jovial locals offers drinks, food - great popcorn, by the way - and the opportunity to participate in a Karaoke sing-along. A night's stay at the Yacht Club motel will definitely add to the collection of travel stories one can share with friends.
My friends and I have stayed here for the past 7 years, same weekend every year, without any issues...until now. The motel is under new ownership and wow...could not be more disappointed. We made our reservation in October, over 3 months in advance. I also called the yacht club 3(!!!) times since making the reservation, just to confirm. They do not use a computer, they just keep a written log so I tried to be extra careful and keep in contact with them. This didn't help. After traveling 3+ hours, we attempted to check in and the girl working told us "there was a mix up and we don't have a room for you." Uuhhhh....what? She said they didn't have my phone number written down. Nobody ever asked for it, any of the times I called. They had my debit card number. Apparently this wasn't enough. By the grace of the Quartzsite gods, we were able to snag a personally rented out trailer elsewhere last minute. The yacht club office claims to have hours, yet will randomly be closed, locked and dark during these hours and nobody will answer the listed phone number. None of the staff we interfaced with seemed equipped to be organized, businesslike and able to run this small motel business. It's honestly just a shit show and many people around town told us they've heard of many issues like ours happening lately. Super disappointing and such a let down, but lesson learned - we will NEVER stay here again. The yacht club restaurant and owners are awesome - the motel will probably be out of business shortly, with the way these people operate.
From reading the other reviews, one would think this place is a worthwhile stop....not! Unless you want to pay $79 for 1/2 of an old trailer house...the Fish&Chips at the restaurant were only marginally better. Good Luck.
Stopped in to see what the Quartzsite Yacht Club was all about,After reading some of the reviews, here we were a little apprehensive. But once we opened the door and stepped inside, we were amazed. Jamie, greeted us at the door, Asked us if we would like to sit inside or on the patio. Once seated, our waitress Jamie, told us the story of the Yacht Club. And took our drink order. Once we decided what to eat, she told us it might take a little bit. We told her we were fine with that. After all we are retired. And we could see they were very very busy. Must have been their high season. After bringing us our food and asking if there was anything else she could get for us, we told her thank you, but no. Going to visit this place again. Great service, great food, and very friendly place. Will recommend this place to others. Visit date was 2/3/14.

While you might not peg Quartzsite, AZ as sailor’s paradise, its home to a yacht club that boasts the largest membership in the world, even though it’s located hundreds of miles from a body of water.
So how does a yacht club wind up in the middle of the desert.
A great sense of humor, basically.
Back in the 70s, a man by the name of Al Madden bought Quartzsite’s old beer bar “The JIGSAW”, and jokingly renamed it The Yacht Club, even coming up a rather snappy motto: “long time so sea”.
Before long, the business had taken off, and Madden was selling memberships to the Yacht Club to ANYONE who qualifies.
How do you qualify for membership?
Membership at the Quartzsite Yacht Club only costs $49.99 plus tax a person.
Can you fill out the form and send payment for your membership? …then you qualify !!! … or if you apply online using the button to the right your membership will be shipped to you (additional $15 S&H)
There is one particular perk, though, that ends up being the best of the bunch: reciprocity.
You see, a good majority of Yacht Clubs around the country offer reciprocal memberships, which means that those belonging to another club can present their card and gain access without a fee.
It Seems members of the Quartzsite Yacht Club began to notice that their joke membership was being taken seriously at other clubs around the country … (the one-time fee allowing them to enter much swankier, actually-real yacht clubs.)
Membership fee is $49.99 plus tax.
Online price will have a $15 S&H charge added during order. International shipping please contact the restaurant for shipping fees.
Any visitor to the club has the option of joining; and with their membership they receive a signed membership certificate and an official membership card.

The Quartzsite Yacht Club Motel is a collection of nautically themed trailers in the middle of the desert. The accommodations are basic--no telephones in the rooms, limited cable tv, refrigerator and microwave. The air conditioner is noisy, but the staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are immaculate.

Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. While it is true the Quartzsite Yacht Club uses re-purposed trailers for rooms, this is the best Quartzsite has to offer, unless of course you would like to pay twice as much for a very small room at the Super 8 down the street. The only other hotel closed two years ago.
