But their watches aren't gonna have tourbillons or perpetual calendars or minute repeaters and so on. The only two complicated watches Rolex makes are the Yacht Master II (with this regatta timer) and the Sky Dweller (with its annual calendar + GMT). It is the word"yacht-master II"in bold that brothers me most.

The Seamaster 300 master co-axial in grade 5 definitely is more robust than 904L and 316L steel. It is also a little lighter in color / polishes brighter than grade 2. I currently own a Seamaster Professional NTTD in grade 2. It is darker, and does pick up surface scratches more easily than steel.

THE CASE: If you've been around Rolex circles for any serious amount of time, you'll likely have heard that the Yacht-Master II is simply too large of a watch for Rolex to have made - And to be fair, it's very big by Rolex standards. The watch is the only Rolex produced that measures in at 44mm with a significant 14mm thickness and is made of 904L Stainless Steel.

This is likely going to be the most important aspects of your decision. Let's begin with the size. Both watches have 40mm cases. Keep in mind the BLNR will wear more like a 41-42mm while the Yachtmaster is a bit more true to 40mm. If you have a big wrist and stature you might lean more towards the BLNR.
