Complex simplicity

Sibelle’s exterior lines are by Frank Laupman from Omega architects, assisted in the refinement of the design details by Mikhail Labazov and Andrei Savin from Architectural Bureau A-B Studio. The complex simplicity oxymoron epitomizes in two words the philosophy that led the design team in the development of this project. Sibelle’s elegant exterior lines are emphasized by contrasting bands of wraparound glass that give her a very distinctive look. The exterior lines look like they are running parallel, but in reality they are not! It is all about small adjustments that give an impression of parallelism to the eye.

Sibelle is a 50 metre fully custom motor yacht, below 500 Gross Tonnage with an aluminum hull and superstructure. Large enough to offer her owner and his guests everything they need without compromise, whilst being small enough to allow plenty of freedom to anchor in bays with crystal clear water.

The multi-award winning 50m/164'1" expedition yacht 'Sibelle' was built by Heesen in the Netherlands at their Oss shipyard. Her interior is styled by Dutch designer design house Omega Architects and she was delivered to her owner in February 2015. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Omega Architects and she was last refitted in 2022.

Guest Accommodation

Sibelle has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising two VIP cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 11 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Sibelle is built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Sibelle features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels. Her water tanks store around 16,500 Litres of fresh water. Heesen Yachts Delivers Sibelle

Heesen Yachts has delivered the 164-foot custom motoryacht Sibelle to her owner.

Sibelle underwent sea trials in the North Sea during mid-February in Force 4 and Force 5 winds, according to Heesen. She exceeded her contractual speed, boasting a top end of 19 knots and a cruising speed of about 15 knots.

Naval architect Perry van Oossanen called Sibelle the first of her kind, with a Fast Displacement Hull Form and “radical styling” including a vertical stem. “To see all this come together so beautifully after five years of hard work of designing and building is a great feeling,” he stated in a press release.

The build captain noted that, during sea trials, Sibelle had “frugal fuel consumption,” burning less than 160 gallons per hour at top speed and less than 60 gallons per hour at a 15-knot cruise.

Frank Laupman of Omega Architects penned Sibelle ‘s exterior lines, working with Mikhail Labazov and Andrei Savin from Architectural Bureau A-B Studio. They emphasized contrasting bands of wraparound glass to create the yacht’s distinctive look.

As a 50-metre fully custom motor yacht, SIBELLE strikes a careful balance between size and functionality. Her aluminium hull and superstructure ensure robustness while remaining below the 500 gross tonne mark.

With a range of 3,150 nautical miles, she is more than capable of crossing oceans, yet her size remains within a comfortable scale. This basic design philosophy affords her Owner the versatility to access smaller bays, effortlessly delivering the best of both worlds.

While she boasts a range to rival a fully-fledged expedition yacht, her 237 square metres of outdoor space provides plenty of elbow room for decadent alfresco living. Beyond her aesthetic appeal, SIBELLE is a powerhouse of performance. Equipped with twin diesel MTU 8-cylinder engines, and Fast Displacement Hull Form, she can reach a maximum speed of 18.5 knots and cruises comfortably at 15 knots.

Her durable aluminium hull and superstructure make her particularly hard-wearing for more rugged adventures, with her advanced hydraulic powered mooring and thruster systems ensuring smooth manoeuvrability under any circumstances.

The yacht’s generators have also been upgraded to 120KW engines with electrical windings. These generators, fitted with hydrogen injection systems, ensure clean and efficient operation, reducing her running emissions, and aligning with contemporary sustainable cruising.

Heesen Yachts launch YN 16750, Sibelle

Heesen Yachts have announced that project YN 16750 was launched and christened Sibelle at their shipyard in Oss.

Sibelle is a 50 metre fully custom motor yacht, below 500 Gross Tonnage with an aluminum hull and superstructure. The owner requested this project be designed with a plumb bow which will ensure the vessel stays on course better in high wave conditions.

Sibelle will be able to reach a maximum speed of 18.5 knots.

The naval architect, Perry van Oossanen said: “The hull is fitted with Quantum XT zero-speed fins, and bilge keels, offering a maximum reduction in roll angle at anchor. The design of the hull, the appendages and the propulsion arrangement have been focused on obtaining the best fuel efficiency possible, without sacrificing performance and comfort when running in waves.”

To describe the design of Sibelle the team of architects chose the oxymoron C omplex simplicity, as   the lines may look like they are running parallel, but in reality they do not.

Sibelle will be tested in the North Sea and delivered to her owner in March 2015.
