The most important feature that separates SU Royal from other yachts is that, along with open spaces, it has a large saloon that is covered panoramically with windows and offers an uninterrupted view. Since the aesthetics of the yacht’s outside appearance merges with a comfortable saloon that offers a great view, it is a suitable option for Bosphorus tours, parties, and important meetings.

This unique design is the most important reason why our guests prefer it for various high-level hospitality organizations, including hosting government officials.

SU Royal has an optimized design for spacious areas and large guest capacity. To be specific, SU Royal’s actual capacity is 50 people. Even though it has a large capacity, we limit the guest count to 36 people on regular yacht tours and 30 on yacht tours with food service to offer better comfort for you.

Our guests can have drinks and chat on the upper or rear deck. Then they can sit comfortably in the lounge with air conditioning and enjoy the magnificent view. Moreover, we have sunbathing cushions on the front for our guests who want to sunbathe.

Orion 49 / Explorer

The Orion 49 / Explorer has the same hull, keel, rudder and rig as the Orion 49 / Cruiser (design 169). This version has a different deck, cockpit, deckhouse, interior and a different transom with a scope. The assignment was to design a robust and fast family cruising yacht, with a small deck saloon and suitable for sailing in cold regions.

Also for this version, we have chosen aluminum, partly for its robust looks like (this aluminum is unpainted) and partly because aluminum is an extremely solid and lightweight construction material.

Orion 49/ Explorer In order to anchor close to the shore, to sail a nice river, or to allow the mooring in a nice harbor, we have choosen for a retractable keel. Because of the keel is vertically retractable, it’s possible to sail with various drafts, wherein said steering characteristics remain the same.

Exterior This version of the Orion 49 has a smaller cockpit with one pedestal. Two winches are in the centre of the cockpit for tne main- and jibsheet.  The seats have a good backrest and sit comfortably. The entire cockpit is kept as low as possible, to give the crew in heavy seas security. For that reason, there is also created sufficient space behind the helm. The mainsheet is attached to the deck saloon, so there is no maintrack in the cockpit.

Interior The deck saloon has a settee on the starboard side and on the portside a card table.

The 49.29m/161'9" classic yacht 'Orion' (ex. Sylvana) was built by Camper & Nicholsons in the United Kingdom at their Gosport shipyard. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Charles E. Nicholson and she was last refitted in 2004.

Range & Performance

Orion is built with a teak/steel frames hull and teak superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3306TA) 230hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 11 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 13 knots with a range of up to 950 nautical miles from her 9,000 litre fuel tanks at 11 knots. Her water tanks store around 9,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.

ORION is a 44.99 m Sail Yacht, built in the United Kingdom by Camper & Nicholsons and delivered in 1910.

Her top speed is 12.0 kn and she boasts a maximum range of 950.0 nm when navigating at cruising speed, with power coming from two Caterpillar diesel engines. She can accommodate up to 10 guests, with 11 crew members. She has a gross tonnage of 122.0 GT and a 7.16 m beam.

She was designed by Charles E. Nicholson , who also completed the naval architecture. Charles E. Nicholson has designed 25 yachts and created the naval architecture for 26 yachts for yachts above 24 metres.

Naufragio Bayesian, al via esami su vittime: eseguite tac su salme, da lunedì le autopsie

Continuano le indagini per capire cos’è successo al veliero con 22 persone a bordo, affondato il 19 agosto davanti alle coste palermitane durante una tempesta. Marinaio Griffiths: “Ho svegliato il comandante con vento forte”. Iniziati gli esami sui corpi delle 7 vittime. I consulenti della Procura hanno effettuato le Tac sulle salme, poi da lunedì fino a giovedì le autopsie vere e proprie. Altre risposte arriveranno dall'esame del relitto. Intanto, nella zona proseguono le operazioni di monitoraggio ambientale

Mentre continuano le indagini per capire cos’è successo al Bayesian, la barca di lusso con 22 persone a bordo affondata il 19 agosto davanti alle coste palermitane durante una tempesta, sono iniziati gli esami sui corpi delle sette vittime. Questa mattina sono state effettuate, all'istituto di Medicina legale del Policlinico di Palermo, le Tac sui corpi dei coniugi Bloomer e Morvillo. Da lunedì si svolgeranno le autopsie vere e proprie. Per il naufragio sono indagati per omicidio colposo plurimo e naufragio colposo il comandante del veliero James Cutfield, l'ufficiale di macchina Tim Parker Eaton e il marinaio Matthew Griffiths che era in turno in plancia. I 15 sopravvissuti, tra passeggeri ed equipaggio, hanno tutti lasciato l'Italia.

Il racconto del marinaio

Intanto emerge che nel suo racconto agli investigatori, il marinaio Griffiths ha detto di aver "svegliato il comandante quando il vento era a 20 nodi. Lui ha dato ordine di svegliare tutti gli altri. Io poi ho messo via i cuscini e le piante, chiuso le vetrate del salotto a prua e alcuni boccaporti". Il marinaio non avrebbe parlato dei portelloni, che non erano di sua competenza. "La nave si è inclinata e siamo stati sbalzati in acqua. Poi siamo riusciti a risalire e abbiamo cercato di salvare quelli che potevamo. Camminavamo sulle pareti. Cutfield ha salvato la bambina piccola e sua mamma".

Gli esami sulle salme delle vittime

I consulenti della Procura di Termini Imerese hanno iniziato gli esami con le Tac. Da lunedì, poi, si svolgeranno le autopsie: i primi a essere esaminati saranno i corpi di Jonathan Bloomer e della moglie Judith Elizabeth Bloomer; il giorno successivo, martedì, le salme dei coniugi Morvillo, l'avvocato Cristopher e la moglie Neda; mercoledì le autopsie saranno effettuate sui resti di Mike Lynch e della figlia diciottenne Hannah; infine, giovedì ci sarà l’autopsia sul cuoco di bordo, Recaldo Thomas.

James Cutfield, il comandante dei ricchi venuto da down under

Thomas è stato l’unica vittima tra i dieci componenti dell'equipaggio. Le altre sei persone che hanno perso la vita erano tutti passeggeri: Lynch era il proprietario di fatto dell'imbarcazione e sul Bayesian viaggiava anche la moglie, Angela Bacares, formale titolare del veliero, sopravvissuta perché subito salita in coperta quando la barca aveva iniziato a inclinarsi. I medici del Policlinico dovranno ufficializzare le cause della morte di sei passeggeri e di un membro dell'equipaggio del Bayesian. L'esito degli esami autoptici sembra piuttosto scontato - le vittime sono annegate, intrappolate da un muro d'acqua nella barca che è affondata in pochi minuti - ma conoscere i tempi e i modi della tragica fine dei sette potrebbe poi servire durante l'impegnativa partita dei risarcimenti. Alle autopsie parteciperanno, oltre ai consulenti nominati dalla Procura di Termini Imerese che indaga sull'incidente, anche gli indagati, attraverso propri esperti.

Più rilevanti per comprendere come un veliero dotato di quella tecnologia possa essere affondato in pochi minuti sarà l'esame del relitto, che dovrebbe essere recuperato dalla società armatrice del Bayesian, sotto la sorveglianza della Guardia Costiera che è anche custode giudiziario della nave posta sotto sequestro. Lo stato dell'imbarcazione potrebbe dare qualche risposta ai pm, che ormai puntano sull'errore umano e tentano di capire se e come, a quanto al momento sembra, un comandante esperto e un equipaggio altrettanto preparato abbiano potuto commettere tante leggerezze: dall’ignoranza o dalla sottovalutazione, nonostante la strumentazione a disposizione dello yacht, della tempesta in arrivo, che aveva invece indotto i pescatori di Porticello a non prendere il mare, alla mancata allerta dei passeggeri che non sarebbero stati invitati a lasciare le cabine. E ancora tutta da capire è la posizione del veliero rispetto alla costa, con l'ancora costretta dal fondale sabbioso ad arare sbilanciando la barca. Al centro dell'inchiesta è anche lo stato del portellone di poppa e di alcune paratie che, viene ipotizzato, non sarebbero state chiuse. Circostanza che, se fosse verificata, avrebbe determinato l'allagamento dello yacht (improbabile, dicono gli esperti, che tanta acqua sia potuta entrare dalle bocche di areazione) e poi l'affondamento. E ancora, si chiedono gli inquirenti, perché Cutfield e i suoi non hanno acceso i motori e diretto la prua verso il mare come la barca olandese poco distante che ha resistito alla tempesta? Infine, perché l'allarme, lanciato dalla zattera di salvataggio con un razzo, è stato dato dopo che il Bayesian si era inabissato? Troppi errori per gente esperta su cui la Procura vuole andare a fondo.

Naufragio Bayesian, altri 2 indagati: sono un ufficiale e un marinaio

Sentita una testimone.

Oggi è stata sentita per oltre due ore dalla Capitaneria di Porto, che indaga sul naufragio del Bayesian, anche Rosalia Orlando, la titolare di un cantiere che la notte del naufragio ha assistito alla tragedia. In una intervista al Corriere della Sera, la donna aveva raccontato di aver visto la barca oscillare durante la tempesta, strattonata dall'ancora che arava sul fondo, e la vela sbattere. Una testimonianza giudicata importante dagli inquirenti, che l'hanno convocata per approfondire le sue parole. Gli investigatori vogliono accertare se la vela non era stata ammainata perfettamente aggravando l'instabilità della nave. Orlando ha anche detto di aver fatto notare alla Guardia Costiera l'errata scelta del luogo per gettare l'ancora. Alla imprenditrice sarebbe stato risposto che si trattava di una decisione dell'equipaggio.

Proseguono le operazioni di monitoraggio ambientale.

Intanto, proseguono le operazioni di monitoraggio ambientale nella zona sul cui fondale giace il relitto del Bayesian: a coordinarle è la Guardia Costiera, che ha l’obiettivo di scongiurare eventuali fuoriuscite di idrocarburi dallo scafo. A scopo precauzionale è presente anche un mezzo disinquinante privato, in grado di intervenire immediatamente - nel caso si rilevasse la presenza di idrocarburi - con panne galleggianti. Il messo è stato messo a disposizione dalla proprietà del Bayesian ed è coordinato dalla Guardia Costiera. L'attività di monitoraggio ambientale viene effettuata anche dall'alto con aerei Atr 42 della Guardia costiera, dotati di sistemi infrarossi e che periodicamente durante l'attività operativa effettuano sorvoli sull'area dell'affondamento del Bayesian. Ci sono poi i controlli effettuati in collaborazione tra Guardia costiera e Agenzia europea per la Sicurezza marittima (Emsa) tramite il "Clean Sea Net", sistema satellitare di rilevazione di potenziali inquinamenti marini. "Al momento - si legge in un comunicato - tutti i riscontri hanno dato esito negativo e non si registrano tracce di inquinamento da idrocarburi, né pericoli per l'ambiente marino circostante. La Guardia costiera continuerà a monitorare l'area, pronta ad attivare tutte le risorse disponibili nel caso venissero rilevate presenze di sostanze inquinanti in mare”.
