If you are looking for a beautifull live aboard with a long range and all the creature comforts look no further. There probably isn't much you would improve on her spec. When you go below the woodwork is exceptional. This has to be one of the few boats I've photographed which has a bath!. The aft ensuite is also surrounded by mirrors which makes it seem even larger. The Thick carpets complement the wood paneling and furniture perfectly. A joy to be aboard. These boat details are subject to contract. Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.

Neptune trawler yachts

I've recently acquired a Neptune sundeck 42 trawler yacht 1989. I know of one other. But what happened to the manufacturer? I believe it was Tiawanese. Do they still exist?

Hello Colin, your post was looking a bit lonely there so I thought I'd try to respond. First off, welcome to the forum. As far as I know, Neptune were one of a number of Taiwanese manufacturers imported into the UK in the late '80's/early 90's, most of which did'nt survive the early 90's recession I have one memory of a Neptune 42 and that was following one across the Channel in about November 1991 on a MBM sponsored trip to fetch some bottles of new Beaujolais wine from Cherbourg. The conditions were very bad and all but 2 boats turned back including me but the Neptune plugged on to Cherbourg. I talked to the owner on his return and he told me that he had recently offered the boat for sale but he was so happy about the way the Neptune had handled the conditions that he had decided not to sell it after all. Hello Colin Just found your post after searching for something else, The Neptune 42 was made by The Tiawanese Overseas Co. they no longer exist. But you now know of two neptune 42 I own one based in Corfu! I think they were imported by a firm based in Southhampton. Ancasta recently sold the sister yacht to mine.

Neptune 42 Sundeck Hi Colin Saw your post from back in 2006 and realised that you must own my old boat - or at least did back in 2006! I sold Neptune Voyager in January 2006 but don't remember the buyers name - was that you? I owned the boat from 1992 so could give you a lot of background and history if you are still interested? There were only two sundecks made - Neptune Voyager and Neptune Challenger - made by Taiwan Overseas Industries and imported by Neptune Yachts based in Hythe who then went into liquidation in 1991. There were also about 4 of the 42 Classics made but they were not so popular as the aft cabin was less spacious and didn't have the huge sundeck which was such a feature of the boat. Do get in touch if you still have the boat or know who the current owner and whereabouts the boat is kept currently Tony

  Neptune Yachts

  The Neptune range of yachts were built in Taiwan by the Taiwanese Overseas yard, using traditional boat-building skills.

 The Neptune 36 is the smaller of two ‘Classic Trawlers’ imported into the UK.  The other was the Neptune 42.  Popular demand resulted in Neptune expanding the range to include the 34 Classic, as well as 35ft, 46ft and 52ft versions of the ‘Performance Trawlers’, with a lower, sleeker superstructure and a modified hull design for more speed.

 The designer of the range was the well-known American designer, Ed Monk.

The Neptune 42 is a quality built vessel from Taiwan Overseas Industrial Ltd. She is a very seaworthy vessel, more than capable of handling adverse weather conditions. Her abilities also extend to the fact that she can be handled very easily in those tight marina berths, with the hydraulic bow thruster aiding that last mooring manoeuvre. The engine room is easily accessible for ease of maintenance. 2 new fuel tanks have recently been fitted. The accommodation is exceptionally well laid out, the superior interior finish sets her way above the rest. She has been fitted out in solid teak. She has been very well cared for during her life. She could be used as a live aboard or an extended cruising vessel with friends or family. There is a slight possibility that she has a little osmosis, however she is an exceptionally good proposition at the price. She is the sort of yacht that any owner would take pride in, as they have done in the past. These boat details are subject to contract. Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
