Catalac 9m sailing catamaran for sale. ' Calypso' is a sturdy cruising catamaran with twin Yanmar engines. She offers 7 berths and full standing height in both hulls and in the doghouse, with good sitting height in the saloon. The cockpit offers plenty of space for entertaining. There have been extensive upgrades under current ownership, held since 2012. She is currently afloat, not far from our office. Contact us today to make an appointment to view her! Owners comments. We have owned Calypso since September 2012 and had some great trips and family holidays to northern France and up the East coast and even sailing in the Norfolk Broads!   She is very comfortable to live aboard with a huge amount of space both below decks and in the cockpit.  We have really appreciated the improved tacking with the working jib and the stable and easy motion downwind.  The other big advantage, particularly on the East coast is the shallow draft which allows you to take the ebb tide up to the east coast rivers, enter at low tide and carry the flood up the rivers.  Of course, she takes to the ground very well so drying out at places such as Manningtree and Wivenhoe as well as smaller creeks opens up areas not available to deeper draft yachts.

Accommodation

7 berths in 3 cabins and saloon, comprising of a double berth in forward starboard cabin and a single berth in each of the forward portside cabin; a single berth in the portside aft cabin, and a single berth and a double berth in the saloon. The linear galley to port offers sink with an electric coolbox under, and a two burner cooker with oven. heads to starboard. There is standing headroom (6' 3") in both hulls and in the sheltered doghouse, with good sitting height headroom with good visibility to outside.  Holding Tank: approx. 42 litres   

Mechanical and Rigging

Twin Yanmar 1GM 10hp inboard diesel engines. Port engine recently refurbished (warranty expired in April 2018). Marine motor engineer recently instructed by owners to refurbish starboard engine, but work yet to be completed. Each engine serves a 3 blade prop providing a cruising speed of about 5.5 knots and maximum 6.5 knots under power.

Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V 4000 M63) 8-cylinder 1,341hp engines running at 1800rpm, she comfortably cruises at 14 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 15 knots with a range of up to 3,500 nautical miles from her 55,000 litre fuel tanks at 11 knots. Kinship features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels. Her water tanks store around 13,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to RINA (Registro Italiano Navale) classification society rules.

$1.9m price drop on 29m Rybovich motor yacht III Amigos

A  price drop of $1,995,000 has been made on the 28.6-metre Rybovich custom sportsfish yacht III Amigos , on the market with Galati Yacht Sales .  

Designed by Michael Rybovich & Sons , who also completed the naval architecture, her stunning interiors were conceived by Bahamian-born, award-winning interior designer Patrick Knowles Designs and fabricated by Metrica of Germany.

In addition to her top pedigree yacht builder, III Amigos has had "every painstaking detail thought of during her build by the experienced yacht owner, captain and crew", according to the broker.  

Rooms feature materials chosen for their lightweight quality, with custom marble finishes and wallpaper throughout, teamed with wood accents including lime-finished oak, eucalyptus, jewel-boxed redwood burl, teak, and wenge.

The spacious, light-filled saloon comes complete with a large U-shaped sofa with storage underneath and a cocktail table, while the dinette galley boasts custom alligator bar stools and Ferrari Cockpit-inspired Dinette seating. 

Accommodation on III Amigos is arranged over five cabins with seven bathrooms. The full-beam six-metre master stateroom features a kingsized bed with storage while the spacious ensuite bathroom is finished in blue Azul Bahia granite with heated stone floors. 

The aft deck, which hides the engine room access and two bait freezers, offers plenty of choice for guests to relax, socialise and enjoy al fresco dining. The cockpit features a day head with a window, lounge seating with air conditioning and a table for mezzanine seating. Bait freezers, fishbox storage, a custom lead and tackle storage and a Bluewater fighting chair complete the mix.

The 29-metre yacht for sale is powered by twin MTU 2,600hp engines.

III Amigos is now asking $17,995,000.

Resurfaced video shows Bayesian yacht three years before sinking off Sicily

T he specifications of the superyacht which sank off the coast of Sicily have been unearthed as the search for survivors continues.

British tech tycoon Mike Lynch ’s Bayesian yacht was hit by a tornado over the ocean – known as a waterspout – off the coast of Porticello fishing village on Monday morning, causing it to sink after the mast snapped.

One person, the yacht’s chef, has been found dead while six others – including Lynch, 59, his 18-year-old daughter Hannah and Morgan Stanley International chair Jonathan Bloomer – remain missing .

Christopher Morvillo, a lawyer for Clifford Chance, also remains unaccounted for.

The British-flagged Bayesian had 22 people on board, including 10 crew members. Now footage taken of the yacht in 2021 has reemerged.

Superyacht Times previously wrote a profile piece about the vessel, which was built by Italian firm Perini Navi and launched in 2008.

Details of the Bayesian

The yacht is 55.9m long and is 11.51m at its beam (widest point), a draught (depth of the vessel below the waterline) of 9.73m and an internal volume of 473 GT (gross tonnage).

Bayesian has an aluminium hull and superstructure, and is powered by two engines which give a top speed of 15.6 knots, with a cruising speed of 13 knots.

Its 57,000-litre fuel tanks mean it has a range of up to 3,600 nautical miles, and has water tanks storing up to 14,000 litres of fresh water, YachtCharterSalute reports .

Its interior architecture was designed by Rémi Tessier and most recently refitted in 2020. The cabins feature stunning modern bathrooms, and sleek wooden furniture with metal and accents.

The yacht previously sailed under the name ‘Salute’, and in total it has a capacity for 12 passengers and 10 crew.

There are six cabins below deck including one master cabin, three double and two twins.

The Bayesian has the largest aluminium mast and the second-tallest mast overall in the world, measuring in at 75m tall.

Its forward seating area can be converted into a fully enclosed glass veranda.
