This beautiful catamaran offers plenty of room for entertaining. Enjoy a day or evening sail on Galveston Bay! $1200 for 4 hours, then $300/hour after that. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks. We are happy to cater food for you, Suzie can explain the options. We also have a large water mat and noodle chairs available for your use. Please note we have a 4-HOUR MINIMUM and a 12-GUEST MAXIMUM. The captain is included in the price. (Captain is hired separately under a demised charter agreement) Please keep in mind that the Captain and Crew's primary responsibility is boat operation and safety, however, they also take care of the guests, clean the boat, and assure that everyone has a good time. Please show your appreciation by tipping them. It is customary to tip 15%-20% of the charter cost if they do a good job for you and your guests. No illegal substances are permitted. Possession or use of any illegal substances will cause this charter to terminate immediately without refund. Offers not accepted within three days are subject to cancellation. Pick-Up Location: Blue Marlin Fuel Dock in Seabrook Marina and Shipyard As you enter Seabrook Marina you will cross a small bridge. Stay left at the first intersection. In about 100 yards the road splits. Stay right at the Y and follow it all the way around to the end. The fuel dock has a store where you can buy ice, snacks, soft drinks, beer & wine.

Cpt Terry and his crew were awesome! They were very knowledgeable about the local history and showed us fantastic hospitality!!! We had nine people in our party to celebrate my wife’s 50th Birthday and everyone had a total blast!!! We’ll definitely book with Cpt Terry again!!!

We had a great time with Terry and Wayne! Terry is a professional captain, very friendly and accommodating since we arrived at the decking station. We are looking into sailing lessons with him! The ship is also great and has an interesting story behind it, book your trip with them to find out more!

Had 12 guys on a golf trip from the Philly area. We booked this boat with Terry to break up the golf a bit. This was the best experience ever. Terry and Suzie were just amazing with response time and info, communication was a breeze! The boat is freaking awesome. It's not a standard plain catamaran, it's huge. Price was fantastic, we purchased beer at the dock, Terry and crew had fridge space and cooler space for us. The crew had trash bags as well. They allowed us to connect Bluetooth music for the trip. I can't stress enough how smooth terry made the trip. We literally got on the boat and was able to enjoy immediately. Would absolutely recommend or book again.

Security deposit

A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.

Captain info

If requested, the owner can provide a list of available captains for bareboat charter or the renter can use their own qualified captain. If the boat is being time chartered, the owner will provide the Captain.

Colonel Paddlewheel Boat at Moody Gardens

The Colonel Paddlewheel Boat is a little different from other Galveston boat tours since you'll be riding on a replica of an 1800s paddlewheel vessel. Located at Moody Gardens, the boat tour travels into the bayou and bay.

There are two different experiences you can book here. Day cruises last 45 minutes, and you can enjoy the views from shady interior spots or head to the breezy upper deck.

The paddle boat also hosts two-hour family-friendly dinner cruises with themed meals, including a Louisiana Bayou buffet, an Aloha feast, and local favorites like Tex Mex and barbecue. These sailings are quite popular and need to be booked in advance. 

Galveston Duck Tours

Jet boat thrill rides are perfect for adventure seekers, as the small and speedy vessel spins and splashes guests on a heart-pumping ride through Bay Harbor. 

For something a little calmer, open-air boats will take guests on a dolphin tour focusing more on leisurely wildlife watching. In addition, the adults-only sunset tours are a perfect romantic outing for couples .

Galveston Party Boats

Galveston Party Boats are fishing-focused charters that head into the bay and out on the Gulf of Mexico. Unlike other deep-sea fishing charters on the island, this one charges per guest, so you don't have to rent the whole boat. 

The 4-hour tour option takes guests by the bay and jetty to fish for sand trout and sharks, while longer 8- and 12-hour trips venture up to 80 miles out into the Gulf to catch king mackerel and red snapper.

Artist Boat

The Artist Boat is a grassroots eco-focused organization that aims to educate and inspire the public with its coastal experiences. 

The company offers a unique tour combining two unexpected elements. The Eco Art Kayak Tour combines paddling and painting on a relaxed outing that's also great for younger kids.

The tour lasts about 4 hours and includes time to paint different scenes that inspire you on the journey, with watercolor demonstrations and supplies included. All skill levels are welcome.

Finney Boat and Watersport Rentals

Finney Boat and Watersport Rentals has the equipment to get you started if you're looking to take charge of your own Galveston boat tour. 

The company rents pontoons, catamarans, and yachts for the ultimate private day on the bay. Rentals start at 3 hours, but you can add more time and hire a captain if you don't want to drive.

This is also one of the best opportunities to catch a Galveston sunset . Finney Boat and Watersport Rentals also runs private one or two-hour dolphin watching and sunset cruises for small groups. 

Beachtown Tours

A different kind of Galveston boat tour, Beachtown Tours takes you out in a kayak to explore wetlands, islands, and other spots where bigger boats can't go. Standard tours offered during the day or around sunset last about two hours and are led by a guide.

The company also runs themed outings, where you can experience things like catching crabs from the company's traps or oyster picking from reefs (November through April). You can also rent kayaks to go out on your own adventure, with route suggestions from the pros.

Historic Harbor Tour

Hosted by the Galveston Historical Foundation, the Historic Harbor Tour and Dolphin Watch is a fun Galveston boat tour that sticks close to the island. You'll ride the U.S. Coast Guard-certified Seagull II, a twin-engine vessel big enough to hold a few dozen people.

On board, enjoy the shade of the open-air covered main deck or head up to the top deck for panoramic harborside vistas and sea breezes. The cruises last for about an hour, with narration from a professional local tour guide.

The tour is perfect for families since all ages are welcome, and kids aged five and under ride for free.

Galveston Port Bolivar Ferry

Looking for free things to do on Galveston ? The Galveston Port Bolivar Ferry is the perfect way to get out on the water on a budget. 

The ferry shuttles cars and people across Galveston Bay between Galveston Island and the Bolivar Peninsula. Along the way, you can take in the views of the channel and look for wildlife.

While the ride is only about 20 minutes each way, you can turn the experience into a day trip by spending some time on the Bolivar Peninsula at the sandy Bolivar Beach. Of course, you also don't want to miss exploring the old bunkers and picnicking at Fort Travis Park. Be sure to check out their website for wait time information.

Galveston Bay Charters – Sailboat and Yacht Rental

Houston Sailing is the best place to rent a sailboat in the Houston area for day and evening cruises.

Capt. Terry or one of our fun and experienced captains will be happy to take you out sailing on Galveston Bay. These charters are available 7 days a week. Let us know if you have a special event like birthday, anniversary, or even “popping the question”. We will make your special day unforgettable. Check our events page for planned outings including sunset sails and firework cruises. You may bring your own food and drink. Alcoholic beverages are welcome but PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY. Safety comes first, but FUN comes in a close second.

Captain and crew are included in the charter price. Gratuities are always appreciated .

Catering is available at an additional cost. Alcoholic beverages will not be included but may be brought by our guests.

If you are brand new to sailing and would like to find out if you might like it, we offer a 3-hour Introduction to Sailing for up to 4 people. 

Opus Hunter 336 $600 Half day (4-hour) cruise | $150/hr. after that (Captain included)

Opus is the perfect boat for beginners and old salts alike. She is small enough to handle easily but big enough for the Gulf of Mexico and beyond. Opus comfortably handles up to 6 guests but is also great for a romantic cruise for 2. 

The Flying Pig Leopard 4700 $1,200 half-day (4-hour) cruise | $300/hr. after that

(captain included).

Captain Terry and his friend Shaun Williamson brought “The Pig” to Houston from Tortola, BVI, in 2017. Yes, there is a story behind the name and Shaun will be happy to share it with you. The Flying Pig is roomy enough for up to 12 guests. She has 4 staterooms with private heads (bathrooms) and is available for multiple day sleep-aboard charters. (add $400/night for sleepover)

Port of Galveston Celebrates Start of Fourth Cruise Terminal, Home to MSC Seascape

Construction is underway at the Port of Galveston to convert a cargo warehouse into a fourth cruise terminal.

The $151 million cruise complex at Pier 16 will include a 165,000-square-foot terminal and a $55 million parking garage. When it opens in November 2025, the terminal will be home to MSC Seascape .  

In celebration of the construction start, a ceremony on August 20, 2024, at Pier 16 was attended by executives from MSC Cruises and the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), elected officials, community leaders and other port partners.

During the ceremony, Rodger Rees, Galveston Wharves port director and CEO, and Rick Sasso, MSC Cruises U.S. chairman, drew back a curtain to debut a large-scale rendering of the terminal complex with MSC Seascape docked alongside to applause from the crowd.

Rees said in a statement, “We have so much to celebrate today with this milestone and what it means to our community, cruise guests and port partners. This beautiful new terminal will generate jobs and economic growth for the region, an exciting new cruise choice for our market, and growth opportunities for our port partners.

“We also want to take this opportunity to give a warm, Texas-sized welcome to MSC Cruises, the world’s third-largest cruise line,” he added. “Having a cruise line of this stature homeporting in Galveston says a great deal about our position in the U.S. and global cruise markets.”

With the opening of the fourth terminal, Rees expects the port to see more than two million passengers a year, representing a new milestone in Galveston’s 24 years as a cruise home port.

In his statement, Sasso said “The groundbreaking for Cruise Terminal 16 marks a significant milestone in MSC Cruises’ ongoing U.S. expansion. Adding Galveston as our fourth homeport will make it even easier for travelers from the central and western parts of the country to enjoy our distinctive mix of European style and American comfort.

He added, “This state-of-the-art terminal will set the tone for a memorable cruise experience. We are thrilled to work closely with the Galveston Wharves to shape the future of cruising in Texas, delivering extraordinary vacations and unforgettable moments aboard the beautiful and modern MSC Seascape.”

During the groundbreaking ceremony, U.S. Congressman Randy Weber told the crowd, “I’m thrilled about the groundbreaking of our fourth cruise terminal at the Port of Galveston. This kind of investment is a game-changer for our community, and it’s all thanks to Rodger Rees. His leadership is putting Galveston on the map as a top cruise destination and keeping our port bustling with activity. I will continue to fight for our ports in Congress to ensure they get the support they deserve.”

Regional economic advantages of the new terminal include an additional 925 jobs and $177 million in local business revenue annually. In addition, the City of Galveston will benefit from passenger fees and tax revenues from cruise parking.
