- SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).

Ballast / Displacement Ratio
A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

Displacement / Length Ratio
A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. Review of Comfortina 32
Basic specs..
Both the hull and the deck is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all. The deck is a double deck which improves the indoor climate.
The interior is like most other boats made of teak. Teak has the advantage of being naturally very oily and therefore water-repellent, which is suitable on boats. The boat is equipped with 3 cabins, 6 berths, a galley, 100.0 liter fresh water capacity and toilet facility. Note: the boat has also been sold to be self-made/-interiored, which means that the quality of each boat may vary.
The Comfortina 32 is equipped with a fin keel. A boat with a fin keel is more manoeuvrable but has less directional stability than a similar boat with a full keel.
The keel is made of lead. Compared with iron, lead has the advantage of being 44% heavier, which allows a smaller keel and hence less water resistance and higher speed.
Comfortina 32 can enter most marinas as the draft is just about 1.70 - 1.80 meter (5.58 - 5.88 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.
The boat is typically equipped with an inboard Volvo Penta 2002 diesel engine at 18 hp (13 kW). The speed is 7.0 knots.

A fast, lively and good-looking cruiser-racer from the 1980s, with modest freeboard, a low, sleek coachroof and fine ends, the Comfortina 32 is rewarding to sail, particularly upwind. She carries a good spread of canvas and stands up to it well, thanks to her deep, 2-ton lead fi n keel, but heaves-to only reluctantly. Climbing down the companionway, you arrive in a large, open space with chart table and heads to port, and galley to starboard. The saloon is well forward in the hull, so the settees are quite close together. Headroom is about 6ft by the companionway but constricted further forward. There is a V-berth in the forecabin and a double cabin aft.Stowage is excellent throughout.
LOA 9.5m (31ft 2in), LWL 7.5m (24ft 7in), beam 3.3m (10ft 10in), draught 1.7m (5ft 7in), displacement 4,582kg (10,080lb). Price guide: £35,000 to £45,000. YM Test Report May 1988.

Sold: comfortina 32 , modern classic family cruiser with excellent sailing capabilities.
General: The Comfortina 32 is a Swedish design built and between 1982 and 1998 no less than 860 of this model were built. The Comfortina 32 has the flowing lines of a modern classic and the lead fin keel with ballast share of 1846kg (41%) ensures that this sailboat is well balanced and has seaworthy sailing capabilities. The Comfortina 32 is a nice family ship with excellent sailing characteristics. The entire deck and cockpit are fitted with teak which give the Comfortina her smart looks. This boat is equipped with tiller steering with an extension and keel stepped aluminium Selden mast. The sails are trimmed from the cockpit, by using the removable traveller and the Lewmar 40 2-speed winches on the cockpit coaming. The sail quiver includes: Dacron battened mainsail (28m2), furling genoa (28m2), high-aspect jib and spinnaker. The navigation equipment is complete with log, wind-, depth gauge, GPS, VHF and autopilot. A Plastimo Cruiser liferaft for 4 people is strapped in a container to the pushpit (last surveyed in 2012). Every winter period this Comfortina is stored indoors. The VAT statement is available with the documentation.
Interior: The teak wood is nicely shaped and determines the ambiance of the Comfortina’s interior. The saloon has a wooden two-leaf folding table with benches on either port- and starboard side and sufficient headroom (1.85m). The private front- and aft cabin with comfortable cushions each provide sleeping berths for 2 persons. The saloon benches can be used as extra settee berths. The chart table is located at the port side with the switchboard, GPS and VHF. Behind the chart table is the Heads with Jabsco pump toilet, washbasin and handy storage space for sailing clothing etc. A wastewater tank of 40L is fitted which makes this boat compliant with environmental regulation. On starboard side near the companionway is a practical galley, with double sink, gimballed gas stove with oven and top loading coolbox. The Webasto hot air heater provides comfort on cold days. The engine sits behind the companionway steps and is easily accessible by removing the steps and hatch.
