If you prefer an al fresco ceremony, exchange vows out on the lush lawn under the warmth of the golden sun. The gothic sanctuary is an outdoor plaza with grand archways and ornate ceilings that evoke a sense of Old-World Charm. This space is a great location for cocktail hour as your guests mingle, enjoying cocktails, appetizers, and a coastal breeze. Your wedding celebration reaches its peak with a grand reception in the club’s elegant and lavish ballroom. Tiffany blue ceilings and romantic cove lighting set the stage for an enchanting evening. We had the absolute best experience hosting our wedding at Mallard Island Yacht Club. The venue is stunning and the team, led by Gianna, is simply unbelievable in their dedication and professionalism. Communication was a 10/10 - Gianna responded to every question almost immediately and kept us totally at ease during planning. The quality of their work and value is also 100/10. They are the hardest working team and truly made our wedding day perfect. I can't thank Gianna enough for running Mallard like a well-oiled machine and making our dreams come true with her attention to every last detail. She placed us at ease and I followed her every lead and recommendation and because of her worked with the greatest vendors in the wedding game! Kayla and Frank’s wedding at Mallard Island Yacht Club was such a delight to capture!

Mallard Island Yacht Club is a picturesque venue for a summer wedding. Because of its location on the bay, you can enjoy the salty summer air and epic sunsets. The bridal suite is complete luxury. In addition to having a regal feeling bedroom, the bathroom is bigger than most apartments! Another special feature of this venue is the beautiful, bright chapel that juts out into the bay. Because it’s surrounded by water, it is the most romantic chapel we have ever seen.

The bride’s classic wedding makeup was done by Make Me Up Eva and her hair by Cassandra DeRosa. Kayla is a natural beauty but because she hired these two talented ladies, she looked absolutely flawless!

The bridesmaids wore blush pink dresses. In order to compliment their soft colors, the groomsmen wore navy tuxedos resulting in a modern spin on a classic look. The blush, ivory, and champagne color scheme is extremely popular this year. It is always a timeless choice.

Kayla has amazing taste and decided to have MDS design her flowers, creating stunning results. The brides bouquet was all white. The result of blending white peonies, roses, and baby’s breath was classic and elegant. In order to compliment the blush bridesmaids dresses, they added soft pink flowers to the centerpieces.

Because they did not want to miss their cocktail hour, Kayla and Frank decided on a first look. First, we photographed the couple privately so they could enjoy a few quite moments together. Next, we added the bridal party to the wedding photos. Because they had such a large bridal party, we decided to photograph them on the scenic dock. When they started getting silly and playful, I have to admit I was secretly praying no one fell into the bay!

Immediately following the ceremony, we quickly grabbed Kayla and Frank for five minutes of sunset photos. Because they timed their ceremony to end right at sunset, the lighting was perfect!

Kayla and Frank wanted a personalized feel to their wedding. In order to honor their loved ones who could not be present, they placed framed photos throughout the Yacht Club. In addition to a traditional memory table, they also arranged photos of their loved ones in a picture cabinet. Because they wanted to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather, they hired a cigar roller during the reception. It seemed by the end of the night, all of the men were enjoying their cigars while sitting near the fire pits outside. After the cake cutting, there was an ice cream bar for the guests. We love how fun and colorful sprinkles are, so we decided to photograph the rings in them.

Last but not least, Kayla and Frank looked amazing, and were such a sweet and fun couple. Congrats!

Mallard Island Yacht Club | LBI Wedding

Take a look through our photographs from this wonderful summer wedding at the Mallard Island Yacht Club located in Manahawkin just over the bridge to the LBI. Featuring panoramic views of the bay and gorgeous grounds, it’s one of our favorite shore venues to photograph at that doesn’t involve actually stepping foot on the beach. We when arrived both the bride and groom were getting ready in their respective suites with the very numerous members of the wedding party. The guys laced up brand new Air Jordans while the girls perfected their look in coordinating blue dresses.

Soon it was time for the first look which was perfect on the covered walkway to the ceremony and from there we took a spin around the grounds for some portraits of the couple and then into the shady ceremony space for the bridal party and family photos. From here on out we just followed up the day and captured all the moments in in our candid and photojournalistic style. Guests arrived and mingled in the courtyard before filling up basically every seat there was. While the bride and dress was beautiful, the head to toe Pokémon suit worn by the ring bearer might be one of the best wedding outfits we’ve seen. After vows, rings, and a kiss the couple was married and the fun began!

Cocktail hour took place indoors and outdoors which amazing food lining basically every wall. The ceremony was upstairs with guests seated in a dining room but dancing in an atrium with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay. The entrances and first dances all took place in the last hour of daylight before the sun set and the party got just a bit crazier. I have been to Poseidon a few times before and this was such a disappointment.  I only ate my dinner because I was starving after waiting over 1 hour for a table.  They were out of calamari so we ordered mussels.  Food lacked seasoning and half of our mussels appetizer were closed.  I have never paid $55 for 2 crab cakes before.  The drinks were horrible and they ran out of cups for their signature Moscow Mule .  We will not be coming back.

We spent about $200 here and waited about 2 hours.... it was every bit of worth it. Our server was incredible (wish I remembered her name.) Our 5 year old was blown away by the crab legs. My husband had a Moscow mule or two in their souvenir cup. Food was top notch and service was great. We got a few things from the gift shop next door too. Super fun last dinner for our HHI trip.

We came here the first night we arrived. We wanted a place with a good sunset view, and this place was recommended, especially because you got a 10% discount if you're staying at the Marriott resort. When I made my reservation, I asked to sit on the upstairs deck thinking the view would be better. When we got there, and went to go upstairs,  there was a gentleman at the podium, who said there was an $8 per person cover charge. When we asked why, it was because there's a band that plays inside. When we told him we were just dining and not staying for the band, he let us go up without paying, which was very nice. And also a good thing, because the band wasn't worth paying for!! We had a fabulous table overlooking the park with a beautiful sunset view. Our pictures turned out wonderful. We started out with 2 Moscow Mules . Then, the local brine Lady oysters on the half shell. They were light and tender and delicious. I ordered flounder stuffed with crab meat and my husband ordered the Cod. I really didn't think my flounder was that great but the cod was delicious. Overall, very good food, great prices, and a fabulous view.

Seated within minutes when arriving during a busy time (6-7) our server immediately was at our table taking drink and appetizer orders. Our drinks were quick and soon followed our app. Main courses were delicious. Excellent Moscow mule . Would definitely recommend! We will be back!

Average. We have a one-year old so dining early with her usually ensures us a table. The restaurant was already filled at 5:50 and by 6pm we were seated outside. There are lots of ceiling fans and giant stand fans to help with the humidity and temp. Our server was friendly and chatty. I ordered a Moscow Mule and was surprised when it was brought out in a  Serg group themed throwaway plastic cup. Aren't Moscow Mules always served in a copper mug? Apparently at Poseidon...only if you want to pay $20 for a souvenir cup. No. Moving on...we ordered the blue crab dip. While it tasted ok, it looked like a big greasy blob of dip that I imagine the restaurant cranks out 500 orders of a night. The cheese seperated and it looked grainy. We asked for water and were brought the short plastic Serg group cups that my Mule was in. Looking around it seemed most everyone else had standard restaurant plastic Coke cups. Not a big deal except it was blazing hot and we kept having to wait for refills in our tiny cups that couldn't even keep ice cool - and dripped all over us. On to our meals.  Stuffed shrimp was paired with hard green beans. Shrimp was decent. The salmon with cous cous was pretty good and the cous cous was the best thing we tasted all night. First impression is to compare Poseidon to Old Oyster Factory back in its hey day. Get 'em in, get 'em out.
