Rijeka hat ein mediterranes Klima, das sich durch trockene Sommer, milde Winter und viele Sonnenstunden charakterisiert. Der Maestral, auch als “Schönwetterwind” bezeichnet, weht vom Anfang Juni bis Mitte September, und ist besonders im Bereich der seewärts gelegenen Inseln spürbar. Gegen Abend legt sich der Wind in der Regel, so dass sich die Nächte an den Ankerplätzen meist sehr ruhig gestalten, bevor der Wind gegen 9 oder 10 Uhr wieder einsetzt.

Gefürchtet ist hier an der Adria der Bora, der bei bestimmten Wetterlagen (ein Tief über dem westlichen Mittelmeer und ein Hoch über Zentral- beziehungsweise Osteuropa) auftreten und in einzelnen Regionen Windstärken bis zu 75 Knoten im Sommer und bis zu 110 Knoten im Winter erreichen kann.

Das Boot war genauso wie ich es erwartet habe; sehr sauber und in sehr guter Zustand, und während unserer Reise haben wir keine Probleme gehabt.
