I went here for a birthday celebration, and wow, this place is beautiful. I'm not a member, so this really was my first time trying it out. I've heard great things but I had no idea what to expect. Everyone was incredibly helpful and kind. The food was delicious and they had created a signature cocktail for the event that was very refreshing. Overall I had a great time and the place is gorgeous.

This is a beautiful venue for events or just relaxing with great company. They have elegant decor, good food and drinks, and an overall great ambiance. The venue also has a a lot of history; president Ford frequented the house for celebrations. more importantly, a huge plus is that the location is on the water, so you can chose to spend time outside or inside. If you become a member, you can play tennis, join a book club, workout the gym, etc. however, it does come with a hefty price that is worth it. We came here on Friday and enjoyed a great wine selection, delicious appetizers and lovely music. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. It was a lovely evening!

Always a great atmosphere and delicious food, Epping Forest is one of the premier yacht clubs/country clubs in Jacksonville. We are often here for organization events, and are considering our own membership.

I am commenting as a previous bride and as a photographer who recently worked here. What intrigued us about this location is its' charm and beautiful photo opportunity, but what helped us seal the deal is superb customer service. To this day I am still amazed at how friendly and amazing the whole staff is. Their food is delicious and they are on top of everything. They remind me of the secret service-- everyone knows what's going on, and they carry earpiece walkies-talkies. Also, the bride/groom get their personal attendant which is super cool. Thumbs up to this place! Working there as a photographer where it poured before the wedding ceremony, you can really see how well the venue staff operates. They were swift and on top of it when moving the chairs from the lawn to the 2nd story of the Main Building. You can really see how professional a vendor is when hit with things you cannot really control (weather/rain). They were still really friendly, optimistic, and overall a blessing to work with. Thank you Kristina and Mary for all your hard work!!

Best decision we made as a family. The facilities and the staff are great. Lots of activities for everyone in the family. Summer parties are great and the clubs and Gym are phenomenal.

This place is old I mean really old. But, it is well maintained if you know what I mean. The rooms are wide open, the views are to die for and the food is out of this world. Oh yea don't forget the tennis and the swim clib and the gym is brand new and getting newer as we speak.

This venue is truly a dream come true - gorgeous, elegant, so functional, and founded on world-class service. Linda and Mary were so incredibly helpful with all the endless questions we had during the whole process, and truly listened to all of our concerns and helped us work through each and every one. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, from the mansion to the garden to the patio and the view of the river. Their bridal suite was also amazing, with plenty of space for me, my mom, and my bridesmaids to get ready and relax before the wedding. The food was amazing, and everyone loved every bite of it - especially the hor deouvres during cocktail hour. The drinks and bar staff were excellent, too, and no one complained about having to wait too long for a drink - an all too common complaint at weddings. Our big day had some hiccups due to some sporadic rain showers, but Mary and her team worked their magic and no one even noticed anything had to be changed or rearranged because it all went so smoothly. This venue, their team, their food, everything - truly the best!

The place is a so beautiful and amazing perfect for an event or wedding!!! Staff is super polite and attentive :) breathtaking

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Well-known Jacksonville attorney John Phillips tweeted a screenshot of a message from Epping-Forest Yacht & Country Club informing members that the club’s fitness center will be closed for several days to allow for “professional grade cleaning with hospital-grade disinfectant solutions.”

The message said a person who used the gym on Monday, March 9 tested positive for COVID-19. It encourages anyone who used the facility since then to minimize contact with others and monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19.

Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club is one of America’s legendary private clubs with a storied past.

Industrialist Alfred I. duPont and wife Jessie Ball duPont built their 25-room grand estate on the banks of the St. Johns River in 1926. Mr. duPont chose this 58-acre estate in Jacksonville, Florida, because it was located on the widest point (2½ miles) of the St. Johns River and faced due west. Titans of industry, world leaders, and socialites have enjoyed the magic of the duPont Mansion.

After the duPont’s both passed away, a local businessman, Raymond Mason, bought the estate in 1970. He lived there with his family until 1984, entertaining world leaders such as Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and President Gerald Ford.

In 1984, the duPont Mansion and estate were converted into a private membership club. Today the club has a marina, fitness center, six swimming pools and six tennis courts along with dining rooms and private meeting rooms.

The Epping Forest Yacht Club is owned by the same group that owns the River Club in downtown Jacksonville, the Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedra Beach, and the Ponte Verde Inn and Club, providing AAA 5-star accommodations on the beach.

EDUCATION:  High school equivalency degree; Must be able to read, write, speak, follow and give written and/or oral directions in English.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:  Prior experiences not required, but preferred; Must have a valid state driver’s license.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must have working knowledge of clay court maintenance and resurfacing.  Must understand how to roll, line, and water clay courts to Director’s and members’ satisfaction.  Must have a knowledge of court maintenance machinery, including the Rainbird irrigation system, all accompanying safety features; and a working knowledge of court watering schedule.

JOB SUMMARY:  Insure the proper playing conditions of the courts and all maintenance, and insure the aesthetic value of the grounds inside the fences of the Epping Forest Yacht Club tennis courts. 

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:  Must be physically fit; Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and work light machinery; Must be able to work outside for 8-hour shifts in varying weather conditions; Must be able to drive a motor vehicle.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends, holidays and split shifts.
• Must arrive to work on time, consistently.
• Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair.
• Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.
• Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
• Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
• Be proficient on all appropriate equipment and safety features.
• Maintain the outdoor facility in clean, healthy, and proper playing condition.
• Greet members and guests by name whenever possible.
• Communicate frequently with members and guests concerning court conditions to insure their total satisfaction.
• Roll, line, and water the clay courts.
• Help implement the watering schedule and then follow it closely.
• Maintain, to include trimming, weeding, and replacing, the variety of plants and shrubs that line the tennis courts.  Interact with the Grounds Foreman and Greenhouse Manager as needed.
• Order and inventory lines, nets, posts, and any other tennis court equipment deemed necessary for court operations. Word with Tennis Director to stay within the constraints of the operating and capital budgets.
• Check members and guests’ attire, report any nonconformity to Tennis Staff.
• Perform any other duties to help maintain excellent courts and a clean and safe working environment as assigned by the Tennis Director.
• Follow company safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions.
