Since 2013, Below Deck has been captivating TV audiences across the globe by offering a voyeuristic peek into life on board multi-million dollar luxury charter yachts . Taking readers behind the scenes, YachtCharterFleet identifies the yachts featured on the show, as well as those which have appeared on the celebrated spin-off series Below Deck: Mediterranean , Below Deck: Sailing , Below Deck: Down Under and the latest iteration, Below Deck: Adventure .

Bravo’s hit reality TV series Below Deck chronicles the lives of crew members who work and reside aboard a luxury yacht during the charter season.

Each season features a different crew configuration, and the episodes show how the crew members interact and deal with personal issues alongside their working lives. The seasons are filmed over six weeks, with every episode featuring a new group of charter guests.

Getting even closer to these Below Deck superstars, we take a look at each of the stand-out features of every yacht that has appeared on the show.

Below Deck (US)

Many crew members are recurring on the show;  the longest-standing is Captain Lee Rosbach, who been on the show since 2013. A fan favourite, he has been at the helm of every yacht on Below Deck and seen a number of different crew formations.

The latest Below Deck season 10 is rumoured to be his final swan song, although his legacy on the show is such that whoever replaces him will have very big shoes to fill.

Among the crew members, Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain was an integral member of the team from season two to season seven. Alongside her, Chef Ben Robinson was a permanent fixture of the crew from season one to season four, before stepping out for season five.

Throughout the course of the show, the yachts have played an important role.

Hiring a Below Deck yacht will cost from €140,000 per week - and that price doesn't include expenses such as fuel. While some of the yachts were given an alias over the course of filming, their real names can now be revealed below; as well as the exact cost to rent them.

Making an appearance on seasons 9, 8 and 6 of Below Deck , the majestic motor yacht STARSHIP (known on the show as MY SEANNA) is a yacht charter favorite.

The yacht has traveled far and wide for the show cruising to the jaw-droppingly beautiful St Kitts and Nevis in season 9, the sun-kissed Caribbean in season 8 and the  South Pacific  islands of  Tahiti in season 6.

Known for being among one of the most opulent yachts on the charter market due to her ornate interiors and glossy fittings that have been brushed in 22-carat gold, it is safe to say that this yacht is one of the most opulently styled and extensively equipped yachts on the water. Refitted in 2021, the Delta Marine yacht can accommodate 12 guests across 6 cabins and is extremely versatile for a variety of yacht charter party configurations.

HONOR (aka BARENTS )

IONIAN PRINCESS

Ionain Princess season 1 Below Deck Mediterranean

Premiering on 3 May 2016, the very first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean , a spin-off of the increasingly popular franchise, took to viewers' screens. This time the ‘yachties’ took care of their guests onboard the motor yacht IONIAN PRINCESS  in the Mediterranean  destination of Greece .

The starring yacht IONIAN PRINCESS was delivered from Christensen in 2005 and was later refit in 2016 and again in 2021. Truly opulent, she bears interiors that are sleekly finished with a range of warmly toned woods and plenty of comfortable furnishings. She also boasts one of the largest sundecks for a yacht of her size.

Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 1 yacht IONIAN PRINCESS is not currently available for private yacht charter vacations.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

This is the first time the Below Deck franchise branched away from gleaming motor yachts, with the various weather issues that sailing yachts have to contend with adding even more drama and excitement.

The design of luxury sailing yachts  also creates far more confined crew areas than we are used to seeing on the original Below Deck . In general, sailing yachts tend to feature smaller galleys, compact stew stations and cramped crew quarters which are in closer proximity to the guests’ living areas, putting crew under increased pressure to deliver their signature silver service.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

In addition, deck crew are placed in a far more demanding role, with sailing yachts requiring increased accuracy and precision to safely maneuver and plenty of deck duties taking place in the midst of guest areas.

You Won't Believe How Much It Costs to Charter a 'Below Deck' Yacht

Shannon Raphael - Author

Updated June 5 2020, 1:20 p.m. ET

If you're a fan of Below Deck or its counterpart, Below Deck Mediterranean , you know that the clear ocean water, the cliff sights, and the on-demand food from an expert chef are enviable luxuries.

What's not a luxury? Having crew members scrutinize everything about the guests' antics, idiosyncrasies, and preference sheets on national television. We're breaking down exactly what a Below Deck charter costs, and what the show offers guests as an incentive to air their lives on TV.

How much does a Below Deck charter cost?

When you charter a boat from Below Deck , you can expect one that is 150 to 160 feet in length that features multiple decks and luxury guest quarters.

The service staff does turn-down service, unpacks suitcases, and waits on guests for any food or drink requests that they may have. The deck crew sets up any water toys — from slides to jet skis to rides to shore on the tender. Guests can request off-boat excursions as well, that the crew plans and executes.

The yacht featured on the shows are usually worth around $15 to $20 million, with Below Deck Mediterranean 's Sirocco ringing in at over a whopping $18.5 million. According to a yacht site , My Seanna, which was featured on Below Deck Mediterranean 's sixth season, had the most expensive weekly rental cost starting at $300,000. The boat was also the longest one in the show's history at nearly 180 feet. Many of the boats featured on the show are given new names by production.

If you're interested in chartering one of these mega yachts, expect to have at least $140,000 on hand for the weeklong venture. Ohana from Below Deck Season 2 — which is actually named Rhino — is the least expensive yacht on the list and can hold up to 10 guests.

The smaller size of the boat may have contributed to the lower price, but it has been renovated since the show aired. It's important to remember that these costs do not include the tip, which tends to be anywhere from $15,000 (if service was awful) to $30,000.

The guests get a huge deal on the charter cost.

With the huge cost of chartering a Below Deck boat, it's fair to assume that guests would be getting a significant deal in order to allow cameras to film what is supposed to be a vacation.

Producer and creator Mark Cronin confirmed that guests get a 50 percent discount on the three-day charters, and their airfare is covered by production. The guests are responsible for paying the tips, however, which are supposed to be 15 to 20 percent of the total real cost of the charter.

The staff of the boat also makes money from production for being on the show. It's some consolation if the tip doesn't quite measure up.

If you watch the show, then you know that these coveted tips often cause a significant amount of the show's drama. Most guests on the show give a speech before leaving the boat about the successes and failures of the staff before handing the tip in. Mark also said that every charter is included on the season, even if the guests are boring. So there's no hope that being tame will get you a discounted charter and no air time.

The moral of the story is that if you ever want the chance to have chief stew Hannah bring you an omelet in the morning, it's going to cost you quite the pretty penny. Below Deck Mediterranean airs on Monday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

  • Below Deck showcases expensive luxury yachts and allows wealthy guests to be part of the popular reality TV show, documenting their adventures.
  • Chartering on a Below Deck yacht is costly and filters for the richest individuals who come with entertaining requests and add drama to the show.
  • Being a guest on Below Deck yachts allows individuals to become celebrities, as they are treated like stars, interviewed, and gain popularity and followers.

Below Deck has featured various luxury yachts on the show since 2013, most of which have been quite expensive. The hit reality TV series is most popular for showcasing interesting charter guests and their adventures on the ships. One of the most memorable guests has been Delores Flora from Below Deck season 8 . The middle-aged woman got so drunk on Captain Lee Rosbach's yacht that she couldn't think straight. Despite safety hazard warnings, Delores decided to swim in the ocean at night, causing everyone a lot of stress. The next day, Captain Lee kicked her off the ship for not obliging.

Below Deck season 3 guest Steve Bradley is another charter guest who viewers might still remember. His extremely flirty behavior and demands were always over-the-top. Steve once asked the crew for a foam party and gave the entire deck team a hard time. To make matters worse, he returned to Below Deck season 6 with the same behavior. As for Captain Lee's opinion, he thinks Timothy Sykes was the worst charter guest ever. The young entrepreneur was extremely demanding during his stay and forced the team to give back tip money.

Charter Prices For Below Deck Yachts

Across all the spin-offs and dozens of seasons, the charter prices for Below Deck yachts have varied. According to Yacht Charter Fleet , Captain Lee's Below Deck season 1 ship Honor was $170K weekly. His latest boat, the St. David, had a charter price of $360K. The costs for Captain Lee's yachts have risen over the years, but it also depends on their lengths, which have varied between $153K to $196K.

Being on a Below Deck spin-off is also not so cheap. Below Deck Mediterranean season 7's yacht Home was $245K per week. In comparison, Below Deck Sailing Yacht's legendary boat Parsifal III has remained at $217K throughout all four seasons. Below Deck Down Under is relatively cheap, as Northern Sun has a charter rate of $162K per week. The same is true for the newest spinoff, Below Deck Adventure .

Below Deck Yachts Are Not For Everyone

Chartering on Below Deck is expensive, whether it's Captain Lee's luxury yacht or Captain Glenn Shephard's iconic sailboat. Most people are unable to shed over $100,000 just to spend a week on board. However, the costly price of being on the ship is by design. It helps filter the richest individuals for the show, who usually come with an entertaining list of requests. Sometimes, these guests are spoiled, which adds drama to the show. Recently, Below Deck Down Under's drunk guests ruined everyone's night by stripping and jumping into the sea at 2 a.m. Captain Jason Chambers shut down their wild activities before they injured themselves. He even threatened to call the charter off.

Below Deck Yachts Guest Become Celebrities

There are other valid reasons why Below Deck 's luxury yachts cost so much. Chartering on any similar ship costs a lot in general. Therefore, most wealthy guests decide based on perks. The first benefit is being on a popular reality TV show. Any charter guest who pays to be on Below Deck's yachts get to be part of the franchise. Being on camera ensures that all their adventures are documented and projected to the world. The second perk is the celebrity-like experience, since the guests are treated like stars. Below Deck yacht guests get interviewed, earn new followers, become popular, and feel like celebrities.

Below Deck Yachts

Yacht with Below Deck logo

If you’ve never seen the show, it follows the crew of a luxury yacht during peak “charter season.” The original Below Deck, for example, showed off the glitz and glamour of the Caribbean, especially around St. Thomas, the British Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. The Mediterranean spin-off, on the other hand, highlights European hotspots, including Italy, Spain and Croatia.

The show is undeniably a ton of fun. From the drama in the crew quarters, to the incredible beaches, the show provides an entertaining look behind the curtain.

Yet, the chartered superyachts are the real stars of the show. Each season, Below Deck features a truly stunning super yacht. All of them measure over 150 feet and are decked out in opulent features, staterooms and amenities. And here’s something you might not know: The majority of the Below Deck yachts are available for charter!

Below Deck Charter Yachts

Through five seasons, Below Deck has featured some of the most magnificent super yachts in the world. Some of the yachts have changed ownership since the show, been renamed, or have undergone a refitting. Yet, most look like they did from the show.

But beyond the name and maybe a few changes to the interior, there aren’t many differences. All of the water toys, Jacuzzis and stunning outdoor dining areas are what you’ll find on the yachts available for charter! So which charter yachts are available?

Here’s a more detailed look at the yachts featured on the original Below Deck:

Honor – Season 1

Lumiere yacht

Honor (which is now LUMIERE) kicked off the first season, and she put on a dazzling display. The yacht, originally built by Benetti in 1999, is one of the largest yachts ever featured on the show, and it was actually booked for a five-week charter for filming.

HONOR benefited from the new-found fame of the show. She sold after it aired for nearly $15 million, and the new owners completely refit her interiors and renamed the boat. Today, LUMIERE is a masterpiece of nautical engineering.

She features luxurious accommodations for up to 12 guests and an abundance of deck space, including a sprawling sun deck. The yacht also features a wide array of water toys (the slide was a struggle for the crew all season!).

Ohana – Season 2

Yacht Rhino

Season 2 took the crew on a tour of the British Virgin Islands and featured some familiar faces. Captain Lee, Chef Ben, and Bosun Eddie were back, much to the pleasure of fans. Yet, the yacht was completely different.

OHANA (real name is RHINO) was featured on the second season, a stunning 154-footer, with beautiful decks, a horseshoe outdoor bar, and a stunning outdoor sun deck. After the show aired in 2014, Ohana underwent an extensive retrofit.

She now features an updated interior with a decidedly modern, airy vibe, as well as new hardware, including a state-of-the-art stabilization system.

Eros – Season 3

Yacht Mustang Sally

EROS took centerstage in Season 3, and the 161-foot yacht, originally built for the founder of Tim Hortons, was one of the most luxurious featured on the show. The beautiful tri-deck, featured a stately saloon, a sky lounge Jacuzzi, and sleek exterior styling.

EROS – which was sold prior to the third season – has since been renamed and was also remodeled. She’s now known as Mustang Sally, and unfortunately, this is one of the few Below Deck charter yachts that’s not available for charter.

Valor – Seasons 4 & 5

private yacht charter below deck cost

The stately VALOR was a fan favorite in Season 4 and 5. Built in 1990 by Dutch-based Feadship, the 154-foot VALOR featured a sprawling aft deck, perfect for sunset dinners and afternoon lounges. Plus, the ship – when featured on the show – had a range of water toys, including dual jet skis and a sleek, boutique hotel-inspired interior.

Like Mustang Sally, VALOR – which is now known as simply BG – isn’t available for charter. Yet, fans will always remember all the drama that took place on board.

Below Deck Mediterranean Yachts

Below Deck Mediterranean premiered in 2016, and through three seasons, the show has featured some of the Med’s best yachts. All of the yachts from the Mediterranean spin-off are available for charter, exactly how you see them on the show.

Ionian Princess – Season 1

Yacht Ionian Princess

Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean launched with a bang, featuring one of the strongest premieres for the franchise. Although there was plenty of drama throughout the season as the crew traveled around Greece, the beauty of IONIAN PRINCESS couldn’t be missed. The ship, which was originally built in the U.S. in 2005, featured a sleek, streamlined tri-deck design and gorgeous interiors.

The sun deck – where guests partied all season long – is one of the yacht’s star attractions, featuring a Jacuzzi with world-class views. Her interior, though, is one of the most stunning, featuring a chic design. The yacht also includes six cabins with accommodations for up to 12 guests.

Sirocco – Season 2

Sirocco yacht

Season 2 took the crew to Croatia, aboard SIROCCO. The Dutch-built yacht originally launched in 2006, and thanks to its unique two-tone, third-deck exterior, she was remembered for her striking exterior. All of the yacht’s features made great TV. From her incredible sun deck, to the African chic interior, and all of the many water toys, SIROCCO’s impressive design and amenities stood out.

Today, she’s available for charter throughout the Mediterranean. A few unique features include a sun deck gym, an alfresco party deck, a theatre, and a wide array of water toys.

Talisman Maiton – Season 3

Talisman

Named for an island in Thailand, TAILSMAN MAITON is a stunning tri-deck that cruises the pristine waters of Italy and all of the Mediterranean. The largest to ever be featured on the show, TAILSMAN is truly incredible.

The yacht accommodates 12 guests, in 6 beautifully appointed rooms. There’s a master suite, as well as 1 VIP stateroom, and four smaller cabins. The yacht was built in 2006, but most recently refit in 2016 with a timeless Art Deco aesthetic. The yacht also features a sundeck spa pool with a beautiful bar, a full-service gym, and an observation deck with panoramic views.

How Long Are the Below Deck Charters?

Here’s a little-known secret about Below Deck: The “charter season” on the show is just a few weeks. In fact, the yachts are actually booked for about six weeks, and their regular crews are sent home. In other words, the charters on Below Deck are actually a charter within a charter!

Each of the Below Deck charters last just a few days, and each episode features new charter guests.

Below Deck Yacht Rental Costs

Hiring a yacht from Below Deck isn’t cheap. The majority cost in the neighborhood of $150,000 per week. Yet, that charter rate doesn’t include expenses, including fuel, dockage fees, and taxes.

Yet, for that price, you’ll get a truly world-class experience. The crews of each of these yachts provide first-class service and all of the boats are fully loaded with amenities. There’s nothing quite like it in the world. And by hiring one of these superyachts, you’ll also have bragging rights for chartering a yacht featured on a TV show!

Yacht size and features : Larger yachts with more amenities typically command higher prices. For example, the Sirocco from Below Deck Mediterranean is valued at over $18.5 million.

Season : High season (usually during the summer months) is generally more expensive than low season, as there's more demand for yacht charters during this time.

Duration : Charter prices are typically provided as a weekly rate, so the longer you plan to spend on the yacht, the higher the cost will be.

As a general rule, guests should expect to pay anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000 or more in fuel fees for a one-week charter.

Dockage fees depend on the marina, location, and length of your yacht, and they are usually charged per night. As a general rule, guests should expect to pay anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 or more in dockage fees for a one-week charter. When planning your Below Deck yacht charter, work closely with your yacht broker or charter company to estimate these costs based on your desired itinerary.

Booking a Below Deck yacht charter can be a complex process, but with the help of a yacht charter broker, it can be made easier. It can take several months, especially during peak season, so it's recommended to start the process at least six months in advance to ensure that you can secure your preferred yacht and itinerary. Here are the steps to book a Below Deck yacht charter:

Choose your yacht - Research the different Below Deck yachts and choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences.

Determine your itinerary - Discuss your preferred sailing location and itinerary with your yacht charter broker. They can help you plan the perfect itinerary based on your preferences. Some yachts featured on Below Deck have cruised through the Caribbean or the British Virgin Islands, so consider the ambiance you're looking for on your charter.

Decide on your dates - Determine the dates that you would like to charter the yacht. Keep in mind that peak season (June to September) typically has higher charter rates than off-peak season (October to May).

Discuss your budget - Work with your yacht charter broker to determine your budget for the charter. They can help you find a yacht and itinerary that fits within your budget.

Sign the contract - Once you have chosen your yacht, itinerary, and dates, your yacht charter broker will provide you with a contract to sign. This contract will outline the terms and conditions of the charter, including the price, payment schedule, and cancellation policy.

Make the initial payment - Once you have signed the contract, you will need to make an initial payment to secure the yacht for your chosen dates.

Finalize the details - Work with your yacht charter broker to finalize the details of your charter, including the crew, menu, and any additional activities or amenities.

Enjoy your charter - Once all the details are finalized, it's time to enjoy your Below Deck yacht charter. The crew will take care of all your needs and ensure that you have an unforgettable experience.

Here's a friendly guide to help you navigate the cancellation policies to avoid any unwanted surprises or losses on your investment.

As a general rule, most yacht charter companies adhere to industry-standard cancellation policies, which are designed to safeguard both you and the yacht owner. However, each yacht may have specific terms and conditions based on the owner's preference. It's always best to inquire about these details before signing a charter agreement.

Typically, if you cancel your trip within a certain time frame, you will receive a partial or full refund of your deposit. For example, if you cancel more than six months before your scheduled departure date, you might be eligible for a full refund. On the other hand, if you cancel within a shorter time frame, you may be subject to a penalty or forfeit your deposit entirely.

The specific terms and conditions of cancellation policies when chartering a Below Deck yacht can vary depending on the yacht and the charter company. However, here are some general guidelines for cancellation policies:

If the charter is cancelled by the charterer (the person or group booking the yacht), the following cancellation fees may apply:

  • If the cancellation is made more than 90 days before the charter start date, the charterer may forfeit the initial deposit.
  • If the cancellation is made between 90 and 60 days before the charter start date, the charterer may be required to pay 25-50% of the total charter fee.
  • If the cancellation is made between 60 and 30 days before the charter start date, the charterer may be required to pay 50-75% of the total charter fee.
  • If the cancellation is made less than 30 days before the charter start date, the charterer may be required to pay the full charter fee.

If the charter is cancelled by the charter company (due to technical problems with the yacht, for example), the charterer will typically receive a full refund of any payments made.

Some yacht owners require the payment of a cancellation fee, which can either be a fixed amount or a percentage of the total charter cost. Make sure to inquire about these details before booking your dream Below Deck experience.

Lastly, consider purchasing travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances, such as illness or travel restrictions, that might lead to a trip cancellation. This way, you'll have peace of mind knowing that you're covered should the unexpected happen.

How Much Does it Cost to Charter a Below Deck Yacht?

of How Much Does it Cost to Charter a Below Deck Yacht?

Ever since its debut in the summer of 2013, the ‘ Below Deck ‘ franchise has been following the experiences of crew members who live and work aboard luxurious vessels as it sails through beautiful locations across the world. From navigating their roles and interpersonal relationships to meeting every demand of their seemingly overbearing guests, they essentially have to do it all. However, let’s be honest, as onlookers, we do cut the patrons some slack considering the evident, exuberant amounts of money they spend on a vacation. So now, let’s find out the actual cost, shall we?

When you charter a vessel from the list of ‘Below Deck’ superyachts, you can expect 150+ feet of deluxe comfort, including a personalized itinerary, suitcase management, water activities, and turn-down services, amongst much more. You can even request off-boat excursions — planned and executed by the vessel’s crew members —  to ensure that you get everything in one place without any serious efforts for complete relaxation. Though, of course, with that, you have to pay the appropriate compensation, which racks up to a minimum of $140,000 (plus expenses) for a weeklong venture.

private yacht charter below deck cost

Starting from season 1’s Honor yacht (now renamed to BARENTS), after a major refit from its new owner, a weeklong charter in this 164-foot boat begins from $175,000. Then, standing at a stunning 154 foot, season 2’s Ohana (actual name RHINO) only goes for around $140,000 per week. Season 3’s Eros (known as STAY SALTY) is unavailable for private yacht charters right now, but seasons 4, 5, and 7’s Valor (or BG) is available for the price of $158,000. Coming to the luxury we have all come to know and love as My Seanna, the 185-feet Starship is the most expensive here at $260,000/week.

As for the sails of ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ and ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht,’ while Parsifall III from the latter costs between $240,000 to $280,000 a week to rent, Ionian Princess from the former’s season 1 starts at about $163,000. The Sirocco of seasons 2 and 4 lands in the pricey range of $192,000 to $213,500, whereas season 3’s Talisman Maiton crosses the $250,000 mark.

As for The Wellington in the fifth season, the 184.5-feet beauty goes from $260,000 to $280,000 for a week. However, season 6’s Lady Michelle breaks all bounds by costing between $270,000 to $310,000 plus expenses. With that said, a few years ago, show creator Mark Cronin revealed that the guests who appear on the series are given a discount of about 50% from the actual cost of chartering the vessel for three days.

“We ask them to tip about 15% to 20% of the full cost though,” Mark Cronin added on a Reddit thread . “The tip amount is up to them as well. They are not compensated, but we pay their airfare.” Along with that, the production team also supports the guests by providing hotel accommodations the night before and the night after the charter while ensuring their complete safety and comfort. Their support extends to the crew in the form of an adequate salary and a few other benefits as well.

How much does it cost to charter a yacht from below deck.

If you’ve watched Below Deck or Below Deck Mediterranean, you have surely been absorbed by the captivating drama of the cast’s lives. But more stunning than the cast are the beautiful superyachts that serve as the stage for the drama. But how much does it cost?   It costs $140,000 to $275,000 per week to charter a yacht from ‘Below Deck’. The average price you should expect to pay is north of $180,000 to charter a boat that has been on the later seasons of ‘Below Deck’. But if you get featured on the show, you’ll probably only pay half of the charter rate due to a 50% discount from the production.   In this article, you will learn more about the prices of those yachts featured in the famous TV show. You will also find out whether Captain Lee comes with the yachts and how you can meet the cast and crew of ‘Below Deck’ in real life. But first, let’s explore the process of chartering a yacht from ‘Below Deck’.

However…

Because the average yacht on the show is worth over 18 million dollars, most yacht rentals don’t let the production shoot on their yachts for free promotion. In such instances, there is no exchange of free marketing and discounts, which is why most boats you see on the show have their names disguised with a show version name. Below, you’ll find the list of all the featured yachts and their real names.

How high are the prices for Yachts from ‘Below Deck’?

Captain Lee and Crew

Can you get Captain Lee on your Yacht?

Captain Lee is not attached to any specific yacht from the show ‘Below Deck’. If you charter a yacht from the show, there is no guarantee that the crew will be the same cast as it was on ‘Below Deck’. On the other hand, you can charter a yacht that’s never been featured on the show and still get Captain Lee. Please contact us upfront if you want to charter a specific yacht from the show and if you have any wishes regarding the crew. You can request Captain Lee for your yacht charter and specifically request for his staff from ‘Below Deck’. We at Noblesse Yachts will make all the arrangements for you. But that doesn’t guarantee you’ll be featured on the reality TV series ‘Below Deck’, as not all of Captain Lee’s adventures are featured in the series.

An easier way to meet Captain Lee and his crew is to apply for the show. Instead of paying for a superyacht charter and Captain Lee independently, you can book them as a package deal – if you are willing to be featured on the show. Please note that Captain Lee Yacht availability keeps decreasing by the minute. He has brand deals, collaborations, and other engagements that can further narrow his time for in-person captaining. In other words, getting the stud of the sea to captain your yacht will take far more than the average yacht captain’s quote.

For fans of captain Lee on Below Deck, there are meet-and-greet events as well as the option to get a personalized video message .

Getting featured on the Netflix-Show ‘Below Deck’: The Process

Getting featured on Below Deck entails:

  • answering the casting call of the production company that shoots the show
  • willingness to pay 50% of the yacht charter price and 100% of the staff tips
  • getting interviewed by the casting director

How to charter a yacht from ‘Below Deck’ – without actually being on the show

If you want to rent a yacht from ‘Below Deck’, you can simply contact us . We have all available dates, charter prices, and itineraries for every yacht featured on the show. Is your preferred yacht not available? Don’t worry. The yacht charter market is BIG, and we can almost guarantee that we will find a suitable option for your desired dates or destination.

Are there any hidden costs when chartering a yacht from ‘Below Deck’?

Although charter prices for yachts from ‘Below Deck’ start at a whopping $140,000 per week, these prices don’t include standard charter extras. Alongside paying for the staff tips (usually 10% of the charter price), you may need to pay for docking fees, applicable taxes, and the APA (advance provisioning allowance).

We will gladly calculate any applicable extra costs to avoid you getting surprised by hidden fees and taxes. Depending on the destination, the docking fees will be listed and accessible (to an extent).

What you need to know before getting aboard a yacht on ‘Below Deck’

  • You have to pay – The production will contribute to your yacht charter, but you will not leave the show with any profit. That distinguishes the show from many other reality shows. However, you will save a significant amount of money, that’s for sure.
  • You’ll get a discount on the charter rate – The production will pay for 50% of the yacht charter price. The trend shows that they choose bigger yachts with every season because people are willing to pay more to get on the screen.
  • You pay 100% of the staff tips – That’s usually 10% of the charter’s total price. You might want to tip more if you want to show your generosity.
  • You are willing to ‘work’ on your vacation – It really does involve work, as you have to be camera-ready and may have to re-enact real-life interactions if cameras are unavailable when something significant happens.

  • Greece – Narrow yacht availability, low rates
  • Croatia – Narrowest yacht availability, low rates

So You Want a Private Yacht Like Below Deck?

private yacht charter below deck cost

The cost of a crewed charter on a luxury yacht, like those featured on the reality TV show “Below Deck,” can vary widely based on several factors. Below are some key considerations that can affect the price:

Yacht Size and Type: The size and type of yacht you choose will have a significant impact on the cost. Larger and more luxurious yachts typically come with higher daily or weekly charter rates.

Season: Charter rates often fluctuate based on the time of year. The high season, which is usually during the summer months in popular charter destinations , tends to be more expensive. The low season, which may coincide with hurricane season in some regions, can be more affordable.

Destination: The location of your charter can also influence the price. Some regions, like the Mediterranean or the Caribbean, are known for their high demand and, consequently, higher charter rates.

Visit our Yacht Finder or start planning your next yacht charter vacation today. You can also call Doug (our seasoned yacht travel specialist) today at (781) 679-1162. You can also email Doug at [email protected] .

Duration: Charter rates are typically quoted on a weekly basis. However, you can often find shorter-term charters, like 3 or 4 days, which are proportionally less expensive than a full week.

Yacht Amenities and Crew: Luxury yachts come with various amenities, such as water toys, jacuzzis, onboard chefs, and more. The more extensive the amenities and the larger the crew (including additional staff like a chef or stewardess), the higher the cost.

Additional Costs: Be prepared for additional costs, such as fuel, food and beverages, gratuities for the crew, and any special requests or excursions. These expenses can add up significantly.

Special Events: If you plan to charter a yacht for a special event, like a wedding or corporate retreat, expect to pay premium rates.

To provide a rough estimate, crewed yacht charters on luxury yachts featured on shows like “Below Deck” can range from around $80,000 to well over $150,000 per week, depending on the factors mentioned above. It’s crucial to carefully review the charter agreement to understand what is included in the base rate and what additional costs you may incur.

Keep in mind that some yachts may offer all-inclusive packages that cover most expenses, including crew salaries, food, and drinks, while others may charge for these items separately. Always request a detailed breakdown of costs and services included in your charter agreement and work closely with a reputable charter broker to ensure you get the best value for your budget.

A Charter With The 'Below Deck' Crew Will Cost You

private yacht charter below deck cost

From Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous to MTV Cribs , TV viewers have always been fascinated by fancy houses, crazy-big yachts, and the contents of famous people’s fridges. In that vein, a whole new season of Below Deck is on deck (sorry, had to) on Bravo, and the previews already have me dreaming of winning the lottery and getting my very own yacht to cruise around the British Virgin Islands with. But how much does it cost to charter the Valor, Below Deck 's new yacht? Let’s just say that I’ll need to really hit the lottery hard to have a chance of taking out that bad boy.

According to Yacht Charter Fleet, the Valor, which was previously named BG, is 154-feet long, sleeps up to 12 guests , and has a crew of 10. Built in 1990 and completely refitted in 2015 in a “Hampton-style” interior, the Valor offers “the very best in amenities and lounging options.” And it can be all yours for the low, low price of €140,000 per week, or $158,000 per week, plus expenses. Chump change, right?

While I’m not going to be renting a yacht for a week at that cost (I think I could afford a rowboat, maybe), a gal can dream, so here’s what I would do with the new cast of Below Deck on my British Virgin Island adventure.

Make Ben Whip Up Luxe Meals Just For Me

Ben, the resident chef on Below Deck , has plenty of experience with picky eaters on the yacht. Lucky for him, I am the opposite of picky — I eat everything. I would want him to whip me up complicated, luxurious meal so I can dine while overlooking the crystal blue waters of Tortola and think about how fabulous I am.

Ask Kate To Iron My Most Wrinkled Pieces

I am really great with doing laundry — it’s a chore I don’t mind — but I am pretty hopeless at ironing. It’s the bane of my existence. Sure, I can manage to make a t-shirt look unwrinkled, but if there is anything with seams or pleats or starch, it’s an ugly mess and I end up having it dry cleaned. Kate, however, presses all of her stew uniforms and she always looks like a million bucks, so if I were on the Valor, I might bring some of my laundry just so she can put her trademark creases on my pants.

Chill Out With Captain Lee

The captain doesn’t really fraternize with the guests on the yacht, save for a cocktail or two, but I want to sit with Captain Lee and pick his brain about all of his life experiences. You know that the guy has seen more than his fair share of crazy places and faces, and I want to hear all about his life on the water. I also want to talk about his favorite and least favorite Below Deck crew members — what he really thinks about them.

Like I said, my wallet is a little thin right now to be chartering a yacht like the Valor, but if I ever manage to save up $158,000, I think a week with the Below Deck crew would be well worth it.

Parsifal III: Meet the charter star of Below Deck's sailing yacht spin-off

This week, producers have confirmed season five of hit reality TV show Below Deck Sailing Yacht will return to screens on 7 October for more crew drama and on-the-water antics. Set on the Balearic island of Ibiza, the series will again feature the 54-metre Perini Navi superyacht Parsifal III with Captain Glenn Shephard at the helm. In anticipation of the series' return, BOAT reflects on an interview with her owner Kim Vibe-Petersen , who unpacked the realities of filming a reality TV series on board his boat ahead of season three.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is a spin-off series of the hit superyacht reality TV show Below Deck that follows the lives of the crew and guests across an eight-week charter season. For Danish owner Kim Vibe-Petersen, Parsifal III' s return is yet another opportunity to show off the yacht's charter credentials.

Vibe-Petersen was personally approached by Below Deck producers in 2018 after they struggled to find a suitable sailing yacht. Parsifal III fitted the bill as she was already equipped for charter and a number of her existing crew were willing to take part in the show.

The Perini Navi sailing yacht first hit the water in 2005 and rose to instant fame scoring a number of prestigious accolades including a coveted Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards . On her launch, she also joined the ranks as one of the fast Perini Navi superyachts on the water with a top speed of 18 knots under full sail granted by two high-tech carbon masts, automated in-boom furling and a winged keel.

Vibe-Petersen admitted there were some yacht owners who didn’t want the names of their yachts connected with the drama-filled reality show, but he "didn’t have that concern." Although he had the option to change the yacht’s name for filming, he decided to keep it to maximise the charter appeal of  Parsifal III .

"It’s free advertising," he said. "The name of the yacht will come to people’s minds, especially to someone who has never chartered a yacht before. They will see that name and know the boat from the show."

Vibe-Petersen was also keen to secure a guaranteed packed charter schedule during low season. "I think there were a lot of boats that did not want to be chartered for the show but it's good money in the bank," he said.

While admitting he might not be the "specific audience targeted by the series," he said he has sat down to watch the first series, which took place in Corfu. Even in Vibe-Peterson’s home country of Denmark, the US show has gained a big following.

"This is the kind of show where they want to make a little drama," he added. "It’s not that wild on board a normal charter." The conveyor belt of colourful guests are chosen by the production team and given a "big discount" for appearing on the show.

Vibe-Petersen also explained the complicated logistics of filming Below Deck , each season of which features 16 charters filmed across a period of eight weeks. This means that two groups of guests separately charter the yacht in a single week. Meanwhile, the production team require a time period of at least a week to get  Parsifal III  rigged up and fit for filming. "There are 30 people on board each day with lots of wires and cameras – it’s a big, big operation."

Season one was filmed in Corfu, Greece, which posed a number of challenges for  Parsifal III as the sailing yacht was required to have a specific charter licence. "It’s pretty tough to get that," said Vibe-Petersen. "It’s not something we can do within a short amount of time. It can take 10 to 12 weeks to get a charter licence so it takes time."

For her second season, Parsifal III was filmed cruising Croatia's 3,600 miles of coastline. For season three, the show follows Parsifal III as she cruises around the Spanish island of Menorca, carrying a mix of new and old crew.

Season five of Below Deck Sailing Yacht will feature returning department heads chief stew Daisy Kelliher and first mate Gary King, while chef Cloyce Martin, chief engineer Davide Morosi, stews Diana Cruz and Danni Warren, and deckhands Keith Allen and Emma Crouch are amongst the new crew members.

Parsifal III is managed for charter by Camper & Nicholsons with a weekly charter rate starting from €245,000.
