All dies jedoch verbunden mit außergewöhnlichen Extras und Annehmlichkeiten, wie sie nur auf einer modernen Luxusyacht zu finden sind. Das imposante äußere Erscheinungsbild der ROYAL CLIPPER setzt sich in den ungewöhnlich großzügigen Innenräumen fort. Ihr Herzstück bildet ein dreistöckiges Atrium, durch das Sonnenlicht in das elegant eingerichtete Restaurant fällt. Hier genießen Sie in zwangloser Atmosphäre ohne feste Sitzordnung und Krawattenpflicht die kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten, die von den Köchen aus aller Welt kreiert werden. Auf dem 16 Meter breiten Fünfmaster finden 227 Gäste in sechs Innenkabinen, 90 Außenkabinen, zwei Deckkabinen, 14 Deluxe-Kabinen mit privatem Balkon und zwei luxuriösen Eigner-Suiten ihren Platz. Vom Heck kann eine Plattform herabgelassen werden, die einen bequemen Zugang zum Wassersport ermöglicht. Eines der vielen Highlights ist die Captain Nemo Lounge mit Spa und Fitnessbereich, die einen einzigartigen Blick auf die Unterwasserwelt rund um das Segelschiff bietet.

Die ROYAL CLIPPER verfügt über drei Pools

Die Royal Clipper hat einen Pool mit Glasfenstern im Boden, so dass Schwimmende vom Atrium bzw. vom Restaurant aus beobachtet werden können. Das einfallende Tageslicht wird durch das Wasser gebrochen und gestreut, so dass unter Deck interessante Lichteffekte entstehen und auf künstliche Beleuchtung verzichtet werden kann.

Die Royal Clipper besitzt als einziges Schiff Bullaugen, die unterhalb der Wasseroberfläche liegen. D.h. während Sie sich im Spa verwöhnen lassen oder im Fitness-Center trainieren, können Sie die Unterwasserwelt bestaunen.

In der Karibik findet mittags ein Barbecue am Strand statt, wenn die ROYAL CLIPPER in einer passenden Bucht ankern.

Wasser, Tee und Kaffee sowie die Nutzung des Wassersport-Equipments mit Wasserki, Kajaks, Windsurf-Boards und Schnorchelaurüstung ist inklusive. Auf den Reisen wird -  wetterabhängig - versucht, die Wassersportplattform täglich zu nutzen.

Der Schiffsrumpf der ROYAL CLIPPER ist aus Stahl und hat bei einer Länge von 134 m einen Tiefgang von 5,63 m. Der Fünfmaster ist als Vollschiff getakelt und trägt 42 Segel mit einer Fläche von 5202 m². Ihr mit 60 m erstaunlich hoher Hauptmast besitzt an der Spitze einen knapp 18 m langen klappbaren Bereich, der es ermöglicht, auch unter Brücken und Hochspannungsleitungen hindurch zu fahren.

Die ROYAL CLIPPER bietet Platz für 227 Passagiere und 105 Crewmitglieder, von denen allein 20 zum Handling der Segel benötigt werden. Die verbleibenden 85 Crewmitglieder erfüllen die Wünsche der Passagiere. Auf See fährt ROYAL CLIPPER grundsätzlich unter Segeln , es sei denn, die Wetterbedingungen auf See erfordern die Zuhilfenahme ihrer beiden Motoren. Vom sicheren Deck aus betätigen erfahrene Seeleute elektrische Winschen zum Setzen, Bergen und Positionieren der 42 Segel (26 Rahsegel, 11 Stagsegel, 4 Klüver, 1 Besansegel). Mag es auch so aussehen, als sei sie ein Relikt aus dem längst vergangenen Zeitalter der Segelschifffahrt, so ist dieses Wunderwerk doch mit der neuesten Technik und einem Navigationssystem ausgestattet, das dem Komfort und Luxus der Kreuzer des einundzwanzigsten Jahrhunderts entspricht.

Um die Fahrt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten, wird auf See genau auf die Anzahl der gesetzten Segel geachtet, so dass mit einer minimalen Krängung von üblicherweise unter 6% gesegelt wird. Die vom Wetter abhängige Segelgeschwindigkeit schwankt zwischen acht und zwanzig Knoten, und bei Flaute hält die ROYAL CLIPPER mit Hilfe ihrer 2500 PS-Diesel-Doppelaggregate immer noch eine Reisegeschwindigkeit von mindestens 13,5 Knoten. Die Maschinen sind beide mit derselben Schraubenachse verbunden und nutzen einen genial konstruierten gemeinsamen Schornstein, der durch den Hohlraum des stählernen Jiggermastes nach oben verläuft und die Motorabgase hoch über dem Achterschiff und weit entfernt von jeglichen Passagieren in die Luft entlässt.

ROYAL CLIPPER vereint Pracht, Luxus, Abenteuer und Tradition und schneidert daraus ein Segelerlebnis von höchster Qualität. Mit 1765 m² offener und begehbarer Deckfläche und drei Swimmingpools genießen Passagiere eine wunderbar weitläufige Außenanlage, auf der jedem Reisenden durchschnittlich 15 m² Freifläche zur Verfügung stehen. Dies überschreitet bei weitem das Freiflächenkontingent, welches Passagieren der meisten konventionellen Kreuzfahrtschiffe zur Verfügung steht.

Drei wahlweise mit Meer- oder Frischwasser befüllbare, an den Seiten mit Stufen versehene Pools sorgen an Deck für die Erfrischung der Sonnenanbeter. Der mit einem Glasboden versehene Hauptpool ist in die Decke der Pianobar-Lounge eingelassen und besitzt an den Seiten Bullaugen, die das Tageslicht in das dreistöckige Atrium des darunter liegenden Restaurants leiten. Dort gibt es keinen Krawattenzwang, keine Einteilung der Essenzeiten und die Platzwahl ist frei. Die Menüfolge bietet eine abwechslungsreiche, internationale Küche. Aufmerksame Kellner und Weinstewards umsorgen die Gäste, und die ausgedehnten Essenszeiten ermöglichen den Passagieren Mahlzeiten ohne Zeitdruck. Sanfte Klaviermusik dringt während des Abendessens aus der Pianobar nach unten. Eine Treppe windet sich an der Außenseite des Atriums nach oben, über zwei Etagen mit Passagier­kabinen, und endet dann drei Decks weiter oben bei dem elfenbeinfarbenen Flügel. Jeden Tag können die Gäste in gediegener, maritimer Einrichtung und gemütlichem Ambiente die unterschiedlichsten Konzerte genießen.

Die Tropical Bar mit Innen- und Außenplätzen befindet sich auf dem Hauptdeck im Herzen des Schiffs - ein beliebter Treffpunkt der Passagiere tagsüber und bis spät in die Nacht. Hier ist für jeden ein Plätzchen frei, und hier befinden sich das Zentrum des abendlichen und nächtlichen Unterhaltungsprogramms und der Fokus aller Aktivitäten und Events an Bord. Austauschbare Broadwayshows werden Sie an Bord der Star Clippers-Schiffe nicht finden. Stattdessen erleben Sie lokale Künstler, um Ihnen Musik und Kultur des jeweiligen Zielgebietes nahe zu bringen. Ein wunderbarer Luxus an Bord ist die Captain Nemo Unterwasser Spa und Lounge, ein exquisiter kleiner Rückzugsplatz, wenn das Schiff vor Anker liegt, mit unter der Wasserlinie liegenden Bullaugen, durch die man im Licht von Außenscheinwerfern die Unterwasserwelt beobachten kann. Dort befinden sich außerdem das Spa, das Fitness Center, ein Frisiersalon, der Massageraum und das Skin and Body Treatment Center.

​ An der Spitze des Schiffs liegen zwei identische Eignersuiten mit jeweils 30 m² Fläche und eigenem Direktzugang vom Hauptdeck über eine Treppe. Die Suiten grenzen aneinander und können bei Bedarf zu einer extragroßen Suite kombiniert werden. Beide sind ausgestattet mit einem großzügigen Schlafzimmer mit Marmorbad und eigenem Whirlpool, einem separaten Doppelbett-Loft mit angrenzendem Bad, sowie einem Sitzbereich, der sich durchaus mit denen der feinsten Megajachten messen kann. Natürlich sind die Getränke der stets gefüllten Minibar der Suiten im Reisepreis inbegriffen, und die Gäste der Eignersuiten werden vom Zimmerservice rund um die Uhr verwöhnt.

​ ROYAL CLIPPER bietet außerdem 14 Deluxe-Decksuiten à 24 m² mit wunderbar weitem Blick über das Meer und mit Außenbalkons, die Platz für einen Tisch und zwei Stühle bieten, so dass Gäste dort eine Mahlzeit im Freien genießen oder einfach entspannen können. Ein extrabreites Doppelbett, kann in zwei bequeme Einzelbetten verwandelt werden, und vom angrenzenden Sitzbereich schaut man durch ein großes Fenster auf die private Deckveranda.

Die Deluxe-Decksuiten sind sehr begehrt, sie sollten also möglichst frühzeitig gebucht werden, um Enttäuschungen zu vermeiden.

Weitere zwei jeweils 16 m² große Deckkabinen befinden sich in Ecklage auf dem Hauptdeck gleich hinter der Bibliothek, jede mit einem großen Fenster in Richtung Heck und Aussicht auf die Reeling und das Meer. Beide Deckkabinen sind mit luxuriösen feststehenden Doppelbetten, zwei Sesseln, einem Fernseher mit Spielfilm- und Nachrichtenprogramm, Satellitentelefon, einer Minibar und einem Marmorbad ausgestattet.

Auf dem Clipper- und Commodore-Deck befinden sich 90 16 m² große Außen- Doppelkabinen , alle im traditionellen nautischen Stil mit dunkel poliertem Holz gehalten und mit Messingaccessoires, Drucken mit nautischen Motiven, Fernseher mit Spielfilm- und Nachrichtenprogramm, sowie Satellitentelefon. Die meisten der großzügigen Doppelbetten lassen sich auch als zwei Einzelbetten stellen. Die Kabinentemperatur ist individuell regelbar. Der Zugang zur Kabine erfolgt über die Identkarte des Kabinengastes.

27 der Doppel-Außenkabinen lassen sich in Dreierkabinen umwandeln, außerdem gibt es noch sechs Innenkabinen. Im hinteren Freiflächenbereich des Hauptdecks befindet sich hinter der Tropical Bar die geräumige Schiffsbibliothek , die Gruppen bis zu 50 Personen bequem aufnehmen kann und so einen idealen Tagungsraum für kleine Gruppen darstellt. Dies soll Sie natürlich nicht von einer ruhigen Lesestunde mit einem der vielen Bücher der Bibliothek abhalten. Beliebt sind auch die Treffen am Kamin der Bibliothek, um eine Partie Schach, Backgammon, Rommé, Dame oder Bridge zu spielen. Wenn auch das Feuer im Kamin aufgrund der strengen Sicherheitsvorschriften an Bord nur elektrisch ist, so hat es dennoch einen warmen und anheimelnden Schein. Wer mit Star Clippers reist, kennt keine Langeweile. Eine absenkbare Wassersport-Plattform unter dem Heck der ROYAL CLIPPER ermöglicht einen bequemen Zugang zum Meer, um zu schnorcheln oder für andere Wassersportarten wie Wasserski, Windsurfing und Kajakfahren. Außerdem stehen Aerobic, Schwimmen in einem der Bordpools oder aufregende Ausflüge zur Wahl.

Hoch über dem Deck, an der ersten Rah eines jeden Mastes befinden sich Ausguckstationen, die "Krähennester". Gut gesichert durch Geländer und bequem auf einer Sitzbank aus Teak lassen sich von hier aus alle Aktivitäten auf dem 18 Meter tiefer gelegenen Deck oder bis weit über das Meer beobachten. Passagiere, die in eines der „Krähennester“ aufentern wollen, werden durch ein Seil gesichert und von einem aufmerksamen Crewmitglied beobachtet und geleitet.

M5 's stern was remodeled at the  pendennis shipyard in falmouth, uk and completed her sail trials successful..

M5 was originally built in 2004 as Mirabella V . Until she is still the largest sloop with over 75 meters (length of the hull) and an almost 90 meters long mast.

Designed and manufactured by Carbo-Link with OYS making the fittings, the 34 new carbon fiber stays, and titanium fittings with built-in dynamic fiber optics have decreased the weight of the rig by 18 tons. The sail trials not only established the M5 ‘s potential speed but tested the new system and balance of the yacht under sail for the first time. During several hours on the water with challenging sea conditions, the remodeled boat performed well, reaching 17.7 knots in 18-23 knots of wind.

The project, due to be completed over the next month, has seen a collaboration between Pendennis and the original designer Ron Holland , to achieve the Owners idea of extending the stern by 3m which has created a new sleeker profile providing an impressive aft deck area. During the refit, Pendennis has completed extensive engineering works and the interiors have been redesigned by UK company Redman Whiteley Dixon .

One of the world's largest sailing yachts arrives on Vancouver Island

One of the largest sailing yachts in the world cruised into a small Vancouver Island community this week, drawing a constant stream of onlookers to the Mill Bay Marina.

At 78 metres long and nearly 90 metres tall, the sloop M5 is hard to miss.

According to Boat International magazine, the Cayman-flagged vessel is the largest single-masted sailing yacht in the world.

The M5 sailed into the Saanich Inlet marina on Sunday, with a floatplane housed on its rear deck.

Built in 2004 by U.K. shipyard Vosper Thornycroft at an estimated US$50 million, the vessel is owned by Texas oil billionaire Rod Lewis, according to Boat International.

Marina staff say the vessel is due to depart on Friday.

Marine Results, an international rigging and structural inspection company has just carried out service work on the masts of sailing yacht M5 and superyacht Salute – two of the world’s tallest masts.  Marine Results inspected the rig of fast cruising sloop Salute which has the world’s tallest aluminium mast at a towering 75 metres.  But even that measurement was dwarfed by the next project on the schedule, that of the giant 89 metres high rig belonging to the 75m yacht M5 (ex Mirabella) .  Sailing yacht M5 is not only the world’s largest sailing sloop but she has the world’s tallest carbon rig.

“We have worked extensively with both yachts since they were launched,” comments Jon Morris of Marine Results. “Following completion of the two most recent projects we reflected that we had just carried out work on the world’s two largest rigs in their particular construction category.  We are pretty proud of that achievement and the way that it illustrates our capabilities.”

In the case of the 56m Perini Navi yacht Salute, Marine Results carried out an extensive inspection after the team un-stepped the rig at the Perini Navi yard in La Spezia, where she was originally built.  Marine Results then worked with Perini’s mast division to complete the inspection on the mast and rigging systems. Marine Results specialises in a range of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques to check for concealed stressing and damage.

The second of the two record breakers, the M5 yacht had her mast pulled out as part of a substantial one-year refit at Pendennis Shipyard in Cornwall.  Marine Results was called in to unstep the rig prior to an extensive modification programme which is expected to last until the end of 2012.

“Unstepping the rig was no small job,” said Morris. “The rig weighs a colossal 46 tonnes. To give you an idea of the size of the job, when we removed the boom vang, this alone was 9.5 metres long and weighed 900 kg.

“One of our strengths is our ability to deploy our teams around the world to carry out service work on dozens of the world’s most advanced racing and cruising superyachts,” concludes Jon Morris.  Marine Results is based in Hamble, England and La Ciotat, France .

At 439 feet in length, the five-masted, 42-sail Royal Clipper is the largest full-rigged sailing ship in the world.

With 19,000 square feet of open deck and accommodations for up to 227 guests, the Royal Clipper is a sight to behold.

Inspired by the legendary tall ship Preussen , Royal Clipper has the proud distinction of being the largest and only five-masted full-rigged sailing ship built, since her predecessor was launched at the beginning of the 20th century.

Ob die Royal Clipper mit ihren 5 Masten nun das längste oder größte Segelschiff der Welt ist, ist eigentlich egal. Sobald Sie es gesehen haben oder einmal darauf gereist sind, wird Ihnen klar sein: Die Royal Clipper ist einfach schön! Schon ohne aufgezogene Segel beeindruckt dieser Luxus-Großsegler durch Form- und Farbgebung, unter Segeln ist es eine Pracht! Vom Ufer aus übrigens (fast) genauso schön wie von Bord.

Gebaut wurde das Schiff erst im Jahre 2000, getauft von Königin Silvia von Schweden. Der eine oder andere wird auch schon einmal (bewußt oder unbewußt) mehr vom Schiff und der Schiffseinrichtung gesehen haben: Die Royal Clipper – zusammen mit den beiden anderen Seglern der Reederei Star Clippers – war Drehort der sechsteiligen ARD-Fernsehserie „Unter weißen Segeln“. Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5’s trailer has finally arrived, and with Captain Glenn Shephard’s crew including First Officer Gary King, fans are disappointed in the show’s return . While Below Deck viewers have been impatiently awaiting news about Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 for over a year, the trailer has finally been released, and has many concerned about what the season is going to look like. While the trailer reveals the return of some familiar faces, the storylines that appear to be part of the season left viewers feeling uneasy. After Gary’s sexual misconduct allegations, his involvement seems overwhelming.

In the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 trailer, the crew’s chartering guests around Ibiza in a new sailing adventure. With Gary showing up early in the trailer after Daisy Kelliher makes her grand entrance, things get dicey quickly. “That’s right, we have a f****** job and I’m not carrying this f****** season on my own you f****** prick,” Daisy shouts at Gary in one moment of the trailer as he lays in his bed, looking dismayed. The rest of the trailer shows the genuine chaos of the season, featuring Gary heavily much to the surprise of Below Deck viewers .

What Gary’s Involvement In Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 Means

He’s part of the show more than ever.

Throughout the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 trailer, it was clear that Gary will be a focal point of the exterior team’s story. Being shown on the deck with some of the exterior team, pushing Deckhands to their limits and critiquing their work, Gary’s presence on the sailing yacht may be odd during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 . While he appears to be getting along with Daisy , he may not even have her in his corner by the end of the charter season. His heavy involvement in the trailer may not indicate the same throughout the whole season.

Although Gary has been a part of Below Deck Sailing Yacht since the early days of the series, seeing him as a member of the crew after his sexual misconduct allegations came to light is tough. While Bravo filmed Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 before the allegations were revealed, they came to light during the filming of the season and it appears that the network didn’t choose to remove Gary from later episodes or take action at all. Though it remains to be seen if production did anything about Gary , it’s disappointing to some to see him on screen.

It could be chaotic fun, but gary leaves a stain on the show.

Although the trailer for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 makes it seem like one of the most exciting, dramatic seasons of the series we’ve ever seen, the mess may not be worth it if Gary’s involved. By ignoring the sexual misconduct allegations lodged against Gary and leaving him on the series, seemingly without explanation, Bravo is allowing it to seem like what he may have done is okay. Though nothing has been proven, taking no action on Below Deck Sailing Yacht could be a misstep that may taint the entire season of the sailing spin-off for once excited viewers.

What's more, this season "Daisy is ready to take the reins back in the interior department with a new sense of energy and determination," the release continues. "However, plans for a stress-free charter season are threatened when her stews question her leadership."

"On deck, Gary attempts to keep his team motivated as one crew member struggles to learn the ropes. In the galley, Chef Cloyce charms the crew and guests but at only 22, he may be too inexperienced to meet the demands of the high-maintenance charter guests," the press release concludes.

As she says while narrating the preview, "Going into this season, I got rid of some dead weight. The breakup did a number on me last year. I felt very broken. option a) JBR, Blue Waters Island, Dubai Eye, and return.

option b) Five Palm Jumeirah, the Lagoon, Sheikh Island, and return.

Either option should be discussed with the captain at the time of boarding

Two-Hour Cruise Routes

The two-hour cruise will depart from Marina Walk and pass through Marina Canal, Dubai Harbour, JBR, Blue Waters Island, Dubai Eye and then:

option a) Palm Atlantis and return

option b) Five Palm Jumeirah, Lagoon, Sheikh Island, Burj Alarab, and return
