The 40.5m/132'10" catamaran yacht 'Zenith' was built by Sabre Catamarans in Australia at their Spearwood, WA shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Waterline Yacht Design and she was delivered to her owner in June 2012. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Incat Crowther.

Zenith has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising one VIP cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 6 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Zenith is built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M90) 12-cylinder 2,732hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 23 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 29 knots with a range of up to 4,031 nautical miles from her 52,000 litre fuel tanks. Her low draft of 2m/6'7" makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 6,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.

Superyacht sinks: Italian authorities expected to announce manslaughter investigation

Tributes have been paid to Hannah Lynch - the last remaining passenger recovered from the shipwreck - described as "endlessly caring" and "passionately mad".

Prosecutors in Italy are reportedly planning to launch a manslaughter investigation after a luxury yacht sank, claiming seven lives.

Sky News understands this is standard procedure in complex cases, but more details are expected to be revealed at a news conference in Sicily this morning.

Among those killed were Hannah Lynch who became the last passenger to be recovered from Bayesian superyacht on Friday.

Tributes have been paid to the 18-year-old who was travelling on the boat with her father Mike Lynch, a British tech tycoon who also died, and mother Angela Bacares who survived the disaster.

Esme Lynch described her younger sister as "endlessly caring, passionately mad, unintentionally hilarious".

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Lynch family said they were "devastated... in shock... and being comforted and supported by family and friends".

The vessel had arrived off the coast of Sicily on Sunday, remaining at anchor 500m from the port of Porticello overnight.

The yacht sank at around 5am local time on Monday during a violent storm.

Fifteen passengers and crew members made it on to a life raft and were picked up by a nearby boat.

The bodies of the remaining seven people were recovered from the sunken vessel over several days, but that operation had been plagued with difficulties.

Vincenzo Zagarola, of the Italian coastguard, said the dives were not "easy or quick", comparing the yacht to an "18-storey building full of water".

Mr Zagarola previously said a decision on whether to raise the sunken boat from the seabed is "not on the agenda", but will be in the future.

Conditions underwater were described as "complex", and while the British-flagged superyacht was still largely intact 50m (164ft) below the surface, the depth is far deeper than most recreational divers are qualified to reach and requires special precautions.

Prosecutors, led by Ambrogio Cartosio, will provide an update on Saturday morning in the town of Termini Imerese near where the Bayesian superyacht went down.

Investigations into what happened are already getting under way although there are already questions about the speed at which the Bayesian sank.

Dr Jean-Baptise Souppez, an expert in mechanical, biomedical and design engineering, told Sky News: "For a ship that size to go down in a matter of minutes is particularly puzzling.

"I think it's important to remember that all these vessels are built to very strong rules and regulations. And one of the reasons this is so puzzling is because those rules should ensure that this doesn't happen."

Giovanni Costantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group, owns a firm which makes and sells vessels like Mike Lynch's superyacht.

He insists they " are absolutely safe ", suggesting human error could be a factor, although no official cause has been given for why the boat sank.

But maritime investigator James Wilkes has warned against speculation.

He told Sky News: "It's not uncommon to blame seafarers and the crew when a vessel has suffered a casualty of this magnitude.

Prosecutors in Italy said Saturday they have opened an investigation into culpable shipwreck and multiple manslaughter after a superyacht capsized during a storm off the coast of Sicily early Monday, killing seven people on board. They included British tech magnate Mike Lynch and his daughter, and the ship's Canadian chef . 

Termini Imerese prosecutor Ambrogio Cartosio confirmed the investigation has been launched, but said no suspect is currently identified. 

"We are only in the initial phase of the investigation. We can't exclude any sort of development at present," he told reporters at a news conference. 

Cartosio said his team will carefully consider each possible element of responsibility, including those of the ship's captain, the crew, individuals in charge of supervision, the ship-builder and others.

"For me, it is probable that offences were committed, that it could be a case of manslaughter, but we can only establish that if you give us the time to investigate," he said.

The main question investigators are focusing on is how the Bayesian — a boat deemed "unsinkable" by its manufacturer, Italian shipyard Perini Navi — sank while a nearby sailboat remained largely unscathed.

Prosecutors said the event was "extremely rapid" and information they gained seemed to point to a "downburst," a localized, powerful wind that descends from a thunderstorm and spreads out rapidly upon hitting the ground.

Initially, civil protection officials said they believed the yacht, which featured a distinctive 75-metre aluminum mast, was struck by a tornado over the water, known as a waterspout. 

Investigators were also asked why the crew was almost entirely saved, except for the chef, while six passengers remained trapped in the hull.

Local officials confirmed that most of the bodies recovered were found in the same part of the ship — on the left side and closer to the surface — suggesting that passengers had sought safety in the cabins where the last air bubbles had formed.

Deputy prosecutor Raffaele Cammarano said it was likely that the passengers were asleep, adding that one main focus of the investigation will be to ascertain whether they were alerted by someone. 

Cammarano confirmed that one person was on watch in the cockpit.

Rescuers on Friday brought ashore the last of seven bodies from the Bayesian, a 56-metre British-flagged luxury yacht. The sailboat was carrying a crew of 10 people and 12 passengers.

The seventh victim was Hannah Lynch, 18, the daughter of Mike Lynch, whose body was recovered Thursday. He had been celebrating his recent acquittal on fraud charges with his family and the people who had defended him at trial in the United States. His wife, Angela Bacares, was among the 15 survivors.

Rescuers struggled for four days to find all the bodies, making slow headway through the interior of the wreck lying on the seabed 50 metres below the surface. 

The other five victims are Canadian  Recaldo Thomas, the yacht's chef; Christopher Morvillo, one of Lynch's U.S. lawyers, and his wife, Neda; and Jonathan Bloomer, chairman of Morgan Stanley's London-based investment banking subsidiary, and his wife, Judy.
