Booking a Charter

When planning a charter, it's important to know what type of boat you want. There are many types of boats available, so it's important to choose the right one for your needs. We offer a variety of vessels, ranging from small sailboats to large cruise ships. Our staff members will help you find the perfect yacht for your event. When working with our staff member via telephone or email, they will line you up with the best possible luxury vessel for the best possible value.  Once you are in agreement, our team will send you a paypal request for a deposit.  The request will outline all of the different details of your trip or event.  Once the deposit is paid, the vessel is held for your important event duration.  Depending on your specific requirements, the remainder is usually due at the time of your charter unless there are special requirements which may require the remainder of the due amount several days before the charter.

A large and well maintained vessel! While it's not a lightening fast sailing vessel, it felt stable and no one felt even a tiny bit "seasick". My husband and I traveled from North Dakota to WA to visit some friends. This was our very first sailing experience and we had so much fun. We were lucky enough to spot a few orcas in Puget Sound. Captain Russ was very nice and accommodating. The boat was beautiful. I would highly recommend booking a cruise with Captain Dylan/Russ if one is ever in the Seattle area. You will not be disappointed. We would definitely book again.

This was our second excursion with this company- first on Lake Washington and next on Puget Sound. We had a fantastic time (6 people). From the start Captain Russ was proactive in his communication and the sail was a beautiful afternoon and view. Highly recommend and we will book back again.

The Pacific Northwest is a region in western North America bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west and, loosely, by the Rocky Mountains on the east. Though no universally agreed upon boundary exists, a common conception includes the U.S. states of Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian province of British Columbia. Broader conceptions reach north into Alaska and Yukon, south into the coastal and mountainous regions of Northern California, and east into Idaho and western Montana, and western Wyoming to the Continental Divide. Narrower conceptions may be limited to the Northwestern U.S. or to the coastal areas west of the Cascade and Coast mountains.  The Northwest Coast is the coastal regions of the Pacific Northwest and the Northwest Plateau (also commonly known as "The Interior" in British Columbia and the Inland Empire in the United States) is the inland regions. A yacht charter vacation in this region usually includes the areas surrounding the Puget Sound, the second largest estuary in the USA with over 2300 miles of coastline and the San Juan Islands.

Montlake Cut:  The Montlake Cut is the easternmost section of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, which passes through the city of Seattle, linking Lake Washington to Puget Sound. It is approximately 2,500 feet (760 m) long and 350 feet (110 m) wide. The center channel is 100 feet (30 m) wide and 30 feet (9.1 m) deep. The path along the cut was designated a National Recreation Trail as Montlake Cut National Waterside in 1971.[1]

The Cut provides a connection between Union Bay, part of Lake Washington, to the east and Portage Bay, an arm of Lake Union, to the west. It is spanned by the Montlake Bridge, a bascule drawbridge carrying Montlake Boulevard (State Route 513). Most of the land on the north shore of the Cut is occupied by the University of Washington, its medical school to the west and its stadium parking lot to the east; residences and a recreational trail occupy the south bank, which is part of the Montlake neighborhood. It is the site of the annual Windermere Cup crew regatta and the Seattle Yacht Club's Opening Day Boat Parade, both of which take place on the first Saturday in May. Puget Sound Boat Rental:  The Puget Sound region is home to the majority of Washington State citizens who live in the bustling cities and suburbs that extend north to south from Stanwood to Olympia. Most Puget Sound communities lie on either side of the north-south Interstate 5 corridor that serves as the major traffic thoroughfare of the state.

Puget Sound itself is a body of water lying east of Admiralty Inlet, through which ocean waters reach inland some 50 miles from the Pacific Coast to provide all-weather ports for ocean-going ships at Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia. The waterway is a complex and intricate system of channels, inlets, estuaries, embayments and islands.

Ballard Locks:   Tourists and locals enjoy watching the parade of yachts, sailboats, motorboats, barges and tugs passing through as the locks' water levels are adjusted to allow for safe passage between the salt water and the fresh water of the ship canal. Tillicum Village:  Tillicum Village is a Puget Sound area visitor attraction located on Blake Island just off the shore of Seattle, WA. It is believed that this attraction dates to the time period immediately preceding the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. Madison Park:  Madison Park is a neighborhood in east central Seattle, Washington, USA, named after the city park at the foot of E. Madison Street on the Lake Washington shore Estates on Mercer Island:  Mercer Island Estates is the largest South End neighborhood located just south of the QFC shopping center and Mercer Island Country Club. This planned community was built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and includes homes in a variety of styles, including mid-century modern, traditional, and Northwest contemporary. With wide streets and plenty of cul-de-sacs, this neighborhood is popular with families, who also enjoy Wildwood Park and its proximity to the nearby South End shopping center.

Fremont Cut:  The Fremont Cut is a body of water that forms part of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, which passes through the U.S. city of Seattle and links Lake Washington to Puget Sound. The Fremont Cut connects Lake Union to the east with Salmon Bay to the west. It is 5,800 feet (1,800 m) long and 270 feet (82 m) wide. The center channel is 100 feet (30 m) wide and 30 feet (9.1 m) deep.

The Fremont Cut is spanned by the Fremont Bridge, a bascule drawbridge that connects the neighborhoods of Fremont and Queen Anne via Fremont Avenue North. A campus of Adobe Systems and the headquarters for Tableau Software are located at the north-eastern quadrant of this intersection of bridge and canal, and an office of Google is located on the north-western quadrant. Meydenbauer Bay in Bellevue:  The Bellevue Marina lies between the foot of 99th Avenue Northeast and 100th Avenue Southeast on the south side of downtown Bellevue. Depending upon the pier, the marina may be accessed from either street. From Interstate 405, take the NE 8th Street exit west. Turn left on Bellevue Way Southeast. Turn right on Main Street and proceed until reaching either the 100th Avenue Southeast or 99th Avenue Northeast intersections (Please note that Main Street turns into Lake Washington Boulevard Northeast at the 100th Avenue Southeast intersection.) Estate with Full T-Rex skeleton inside: Nathan Myhrvold became fascinated with dinosaurs and visited the filming of the “Jurassic Park” sequel in 1996 and met the film’s consultant and world-leading paleontologist, Jack Horner. Horner convinced Nathan to use some of his Microsoft multimillions to fund a dinosaur bone digging foundation. His foundation has recovered more tyrannosaurus rex skeletons than the total previously found by everyone else. He has given most of them to museums including the Smithsonian. In-side the big rounded windows of his living room he has one of the t-rex skeletons he helped dig up.

Bill Gates House: Originally purchasing the lakefront property for $2 million in 1988, Gates has done everything in his power to ensure his dream home doesn't have a negative impact on the environment. Built into a hill as part of its earth-sheltered design, Gates was concerned about potential runoff from the walls of the massive estate. To combat the problem, he collaborated with the two architectural firms who designed the home to create an artificial stream on the property to catch the runoff. And, in true Gates fashion, he took the design up a notch and has the stream stocked with salmon and trout giving even the wildlife a fisheye view of the most expensive home in America.

Fisherman's Terminal –  Fishermen's Terminal is a dock for Seattle, Washington's commercial fishing fleet, on Salmon Bay in the Interbay neighborhood, east of the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and immediately west of the Ballard Bridge.

Hunts Point & City of Kirkland:   Incorporated in 1955, the Town of Hunts Point is located on the eastern shore of Lake Washington just north of the SR520 bridge. Once a camping ground for the Sammamish Indian tribe, this residential community of single-family residences is home to just under 500 residents. Hunts Point is one of the smallest municipalities in Western Washington, yet its bucolic feel and proximity to Seattle and the Eastside help make it a highly desirable place to live. Seattle Skyline: From 1903 to 1904, Seattle's tallest building and first steel-framed skyscraper is constructed. How does the boat insurance work?

Do I need my own insurance to rent a boat?

You do not need boat insurance when renting with Boatsetter. Coverage is provided under the Peer-to-Peer Boat Rental Policy, which is underwritten by GEICO Marine Insurance Company. The policy was written from the ground up as a stand-alone recreational boat rental insurance policy covering the period of time that the boat is being rented and is available for all non-commercially insured boats.

Does Boatsetter screen renters?

Yes. We use a system called Cognito to ensure that payment information matches the renter's identity. We also require renters taking out a captained boat to be at least 18 years old and on a bareboat to be at least 25 years old.

Is listing my boat on Boatsetter free?

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

Setting sail for a multi-day adventure is an enriching and worthy experience, regardless of your location.  Here at Seattle Sailing Club, we offer instruction on how to prepare for, and safely enjoy an overnight cruising adventure.  Our entire fleet is available for charter by qualified members, and we encourage it!  All of the cruising vessels are well equipped and ready to go.  Even the smaller, more day-sail-oriented boats are great for a Puget Sound trip that feels a little closer to camping, or a perfect form of fun and exciting transportation between romantic resorts or bed and breakfasts. Cruising the San Juan Islands

Cruising the San Juan Islands is easy with Seattle Sailing Club! Mid-May to mid-October, SSC rotates 2 SSC 30′ to 40′ cruisers in Cap Sante Marina, Anacortes. The boats are available for overnight charters and are just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the beautiful islands. The San Juan Islands are located about 55 nautical miles north of Seattle Sailing Club. There are 172 islands that provide protected waters for sailors, but the breeze stays fresh due to the proximity of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. From quiet anchorages, world class sailing picturesque harbors to marinas packed with people and activities, each island has a unique feel. While cruising around, keep an eye out for pods of Orcas who appear throughout the Puget Sound. With an abundance of rich natural beauty and innumerable itineraries, it is easy to fill up a day, week, or even a month of relaxation and fun cruising in the San Juan Islands!

U-drive or we-drive fun boats.

Looking for a boat rental in Seattle?  You’ve come to the right place! Our standard boats are 21′ long and fit a maximum of 10 adults comfortably. Our classic boats are up to 37′ long and fit up to 15 adults comfortably. Our big boats are up to 65′ long and fit a maximum of 49 adults comfortably. Boats come fully equipped with plush luxury seating and amazing sound systems! On beautiful Seattle sunny days our boats are wide open for unobstructed views! No need to worry about rain or chilly weather as our boats can be fully enclosed. Plan on arriving 10 minutes before your reserved rental time for check-in.

No boating license required.  Our boats are very easy to operate, about as easy as driving a golf cart.  The only requirement is the driver must be 25 years of age or older.

We have plenty of parking. Mon-Fri 9am – 4pm-$1.50 per hour. Free after 4pm and on weekends and holidays.

 COMFORTABLE RAIN OR SHINE

Our boat rentals have full window enclosures that can go down in cold rainy weather. Our boats are heated,  fully enclosed and very comfortable for chilly winter days.  We also have complimentary blankets available.

 KIDS LOVE OUR BOATS

Our boats are fun for people of all ages.  We have life jackets available free of charge for children and adults.

  FOOD AND BEVERAGES

You are welcome to bring any food or beverage, we provide coolers with ice for $5.  You can also check out our menu & let us take care of the food and drinks.
