146m Lürssen superyacht Opera delivered

The 146-metre superyacht Opera has been delivered after leaving Lürssen's Bremen site in northern Germany. The tenth-largest privately owned yacht in the world undertook her maiden voyage to Portsmouth Harbour in the UK where she arrived yesterday (5 March).

Terence Disdale is responsible for both the exterior and interior of the yacht, which is understood to have a 20-metre beam and interior volume exceeding 10,000GT. 

After paying a visit to Portsmouth, she is expected to continue onwards to a home berth in the Mediterranean or Middle East.

While details are sparse, pictures show a pair of helipads on the foredeck and upper deck aft and two swimming pools on the sun deck and main deck, the latter of which has a rise-and-fall floor.

Opera is thought to be a rebuild project of 145-metre Project Sassi, which was destroyed in the 2018 shipyard fire.

The yacht joins eight other in-build Lürssen superyachts, including the 100-metre-plus Project Alibaba and the 122-metre Project Jag , which is set to hit the water soon with delivery in 2023.

$450m Superyacht OPERA Anchors in Portsmouth International Port

Opera, one of the world's largest luxury superyachts, visited Portsmouth's International Port on Sunday from Bremen, North Germany.

Opera, the tenth largest superyacht in the world, was delivered to her owners in the UK earlier this month following her launch in September 2022. 

Featuring distinctive exterior lines from the drawing board of esteemed yacht designer Terence Disdale, OPERA is yet another shining example of German shipyard Lürssen.

After being anchored in Portsmouth's International Port for several days, she is now due to continue onwards to the Mediterranean or Middle East.

Ben McInnes, Portsmouth International Port’s Harbour Master, commented: " This impressive super yacht Opera has been using the facilities at the port for a couple of days. It’s not unusual to welcome these vessels, and as a pilot it’s certainly a pleasure to go onboard although we’re only permitted to the crew based areas unfortunately . At 146m, it is one of the world’s largest superyachts, so definitely a spectacle to watch sail out of the harbour."

Despite boasting a strong white profile, seven expansive decks, twin helipads, and two open-air swimming pools, many of the key design details and specifications of OPERA remain highly secretive.

Last night onlookers were left stunned as one of the world's biggest superyachts sailed into Portsmouth Harbour. The moment was captured on video (above) as The Opera arrived for a brief stay and crew change.

The incredible vessel accommodates 48 guests across 24 staterooms. It arrived on Sunday evening (March 5) and left first thing Monday (March 6).

According to SuperYachtFan , the owner is Abu Dhabi-based Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He is the son of the founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, reports Hampshire Live .

Elsewhere, another incredible yacht arrived in Dorset this morning. The AIDAbella pulled into Portland this morning (March 7) and is expected to stay for around 12 hours.

It can hold 2,500 passengers in total, with a crew of 646. It features a beautiful central Theatrium, as well as a nude sunbathing area at the rear.

The AIS tracker has not specified where the vessel goes next, with a route set ending at Portland as of 9am today (March 7). The ship is owned by German company AIDA Cruises, but is currently registered at Genoa, Italy.

The 257.32ft/78.43m Custom motor yacht 'AMARYLLIS’' was built in 2011 by the acclaimed German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen. A highly luxurious superyacht, both her interior and exterior spaces have been styled by the award-winning Reymond Langton Design.

Timelessly sophisticated, superyacht AMARYLLIS brings together the best of Belle Epoque, Art Deco, and Art Nouveau in order to set the scene for entirely memorable charter vacations.

Exterior Design

Featuring a midnight blue steel hull and white aluminium superstructure, AMARYLLIS' sweeping curves and structural detail provide her with a truly distinctive profile. Embracing a range of colours, Reymond Langton Design has ensured that the exterior spaces of AMARYLLIS are at once bright and relaxed. Offering an impressive variety of lounging and dining options across her five decks, guests have the chance to enjoy meals whilst facing seaward, or simply lounge on the swim platform which extends off the aft deck. Inspired by the Japanese approach to design, there are traces of ash, elm, and fumed oak to be enjoyed whilst outside. The main exterior area is unquestionably to be found on the aft bridge deck of AMARYLLIS, where a large table overlooked by glittering chandeliers and an adjacent bar allows guests to sample exceptional dishes whilst taking in an ocean breeze.

Interior Design

Bringing their characteristic style indoors, Reymond Langton Design have ensured that AMARYLLIS provides a wholly relaxed and luxurious experience. With their trademark meticulousness, the team have created a voluminous main salon, which benefits from custom-made sycamore wall panels, and plenty of overhead and recessed lighting. In the skylounge, the Macassar ebony furniture and warmer tones create an unrivalled ambience for indulging after a day out on the water, while the lavishly styled panoramic dining room is the perfect setting for elegant dinner parties. Ultimately, whether guests are socialising or unwinding in their stateroom, they can expect to be surrounded by a uniquely engaging decor.

Guest Accommodation

Comprised of 6 staterooms AMARYLLIS is capable of sleeping up to 12 guests with additional space for a discreetly accommodated crew of 23. Consistent with the Art Nouveau and Art Deco influences found in the social spaces, each of the suites are complete with soft taupe shades and warm tones. The VIP suite includes an automatic shoji screen to provide access to large panoramic views whilst the master suite, accessed through a dramatic curved lobby, comes with a full-beam study and desk carved from two extremely rare English woods - a perfect spot for attending to business whilst out on the water. 

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Featuring a comprehensive collection of towable water toys, a Jet Ski designed by a former world champion, a main salon perfectly primed for entertaining guests and an inviting sundeck Jacuzzi complete with multi-coloured lights, AMARYLLIS nicely epitomises the leisure opportunities associated with a luxury charter vacation.

Special Features

Boasting an elegant Schimmel Pegasus piano, the aptly named ‘piano lounge’ offers guests the chance to enjoy some after-hours cocktails in an appropriately glamorous setting. With a cruising speed of 14 knots, a maximum speed of 16 knots and a range of 5,000nm from her 239,620litre fuel tanks, she combines outstanding engineering with supreme comfort.

Amaryllis has a good selection of water toys and accessories to entertain you and your guests whilst on charter. Principle among these are waterslides for hours of fun for all ages. Take to the sea on a Jet Ski offering you power and control on the water. You'll be loving the huge adrenaline rush as you zip over the water on a Yamaha FZS WaveRunner. If that isn't enough Amaryllis also features scuba diving equipment, wakeboards and fishing equipment. Amaryllis features three tenders, but leading the pack is a 9.9m/32'6" Graf Wooden Tender to transport you in style.

The Solent is one of the most famous sailing areas in the world and offers many options for beautiful sailing destinations both on the South Coast mainland and the Isle of Wight. This fabulous sailing area not only has a unique collection of beautiful harbours and bays to explore but also offers interesting sailing challenges to suit both beginners and the most seasoned of sailors.  And, with a busy racing and events programme you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the premier sailing scene.

Popular cruising destinations include the yachting capital of the UK – Cowes on the River Medina,  the famous River Hamble, the idyllic Beaulieu River, and many more. Some of our charterers prefer to head East, to the less busy Langstone and Chichester Harbours, or why not take an extended break and cruise to Poole or Dartmouth?  No waiting for the tidal gate at The Needles if you are looking to go even further across The Channel to France or the Channel Islands, just sail out of Portsmouth Harbour and head south round the back of the Isle of Wight.

Three Superyachts Visit the Dart.

This morning Dartmouth welcomed the 98m long superyacht ‘Aviva’ to our mainstream mooring buoys in the middle of the town. She joined the 66m long yacht ‘Elysian’ and regular visitor ‘Constance’, which is 47m long, to make a spectacular line up on the Dart.

Whilst superyacht calls are becoming more regular, with many yachts calling to pick up new tenders and support boats from local manufacturers Ribeye, as well as to allow their owners, crew and guest to enjoy the beauty of South Devon, this is the first time we have ever had three yachts of this size on the river. Our mainstream moorings, originally designed by the Admiralty for mooring warships, are extremely flexible and able to be configured to accommodate vessels from small yachts to cruise ships.

Aviva has a hybrid propulsion system, and arrived in port this morning entirely on battery propulsion. Arriving from Troon in Scotland, she entered the river under the guidance of our Pilot, turned at the Higher Ferry and launched a tender from the garage at the stern, before being moored by the harbour team.

Weather and circumstances depending, we expect all three yachts to remain in port until at least Thursday, giving plenty of opportunity for local people to see the boats on the river.

Now moored at Cobbs Quay Marina in Poole, having returned from the Mediterranean, she offers the perfect setting for a unique and truly unforgettable break.

Among the many delights you’ll experience on board are a choice of three furnished sun decks to relax on with a book and a cheeky cocktail (or two!), indulgent ensuite cabins, a state-of-the-art galley kitchen, and a glorious Jacuzzi hot tub on the flybridge, complete with lights and water jets, to help you see in the sunset with style.

You’ll be welcomed on board by the yacht’s friendly team, who will show you around the yacht, and if it’s a special occasion, your pre-booked ‘Champagne Special’ or freshly-baked cake will be waiting for you, with a continental breakfast also available to order, and private chef-hire an opulent option.

With large surround windows flooding the comfy lounge with natural light,so even if it’s raining you’ll be able to enjoy the stunning sea nearby.

Otherwise, entertainment is covered by superfast broadband and Wi-Fi, with a large Smart TV equipped with Sky and Netflix for snuggly movie-nights.

Meanwhile, the custom-crafted dining area seats up to eight guests – ideal for a get-together with invited friends, as you break bread accompanied by laughter-fuelled conversation and superlative views. Whoever’s doing the cooking can even chat to you as they prepare your meal in that amazing kitchen, in full view.

You could, of course, choose to dine al fresco when the evening sun is out… the back deck features incredible teak decking and a large dining table that’s ideal for lingering with your chosen evening cocktail

Later, simply wander along the porthole-dotted corridors to bed down in your choice of master SuperKing cabin or a deluxe twin, both boasting ensuite facilities.

Situated in the Cobbs Quay Marina in Poole you’ll find plenty to do in the local area should you choose to leave the yacht’s luxurious confines. Explore the world’s second largest natural harbour – Poole Harbour – and discover stunning Studland Beach with its powder soft sands and Swanage with its iconic white cliffs, both to the west.

But if all that sounds like a little too much effort, you’ve always got the option of pouring another chilled glass of bubbles, and soaking up the scenic luxury that Classic Yacht Nadine offers in spades.
