PROMARINHA would like to announce that will organize a Training Seminar for Fisheries Observers on April 21st, 2023, between 9.00 and 18.00 in the auditorium of the Escola Nautica Infante D. Henrique in Paço D’Arcos.

This seminar aims to provide future Fisheries Observers with the necessary information for future boarding on fishing vessels.

In addition to the host, Escola Náutica D. Henrique, we will have guest speakers from Portugal and Spain.

Preferred Selection Criteria:

Degree, or higher degree, in Marine Biology or degrees linked to the blue economy;

Previous experience in a Fisheries Observer role

English, Spanish language;

Sea going experience (prior experience on board vessels is valued);

Interpretation and reporting skills;

Flexibility and availability to be able to travel to countries around the world in 2023;

At a later time, before signing in to a vessel, candidates must also hold:

Physical fitness certificate for seafarers;

Basic security certificate;

Certificate of specific ship protection duties;

Citizen Card

The Emergency Committee of the International Health Regulations decreed a Public International Health Emergency. According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the potential impact of outbreaks by COVID-19 is high, and the global spread of the virus is likely.

FISHING OBSERVERS SEMINAR

PROMARINHA is a Portuguese certified company, based in Lisbon, which recruits and manages Observers on Spanish and Portuguese fishing vessels operating globally. PROMARINHA will hold a training course for Observers in Nautical College Infante D. Henrique in Paço D’Arcos on the 10-11th March 2020.

Today was published in the Diário da República, 1st series, the long awaited Decree-Law No. 166/2019 that establishes the Maritime Activity Legal Regime (MAR).  It is an important decree-law which lays down in particular the rules on maritime registration, medical fitness, training, certification, recruitment and register of vessels and other matters important for the maritime labor activity.

On the past May 3st 2019, Promarinha celebrated its 50th anniversary by bringing together its collaborators, major suppliers, national and foreign clients and public entities in an event that took place at the Clube Naval de Cascais.

It was an excellent opportunity to remember the birth, growth and development of our company having the magnificent bay of Cascais as a backdrop.

We had the opportunity to honor the employees, managers and shareholders who worked with us throughout a career and left a magnificent legacy to new employees and newly elected administration.

The current Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Cardoso Martins, in addition to the natural compliments to all present, recalled the late directors and shareholders Alcindo Valadinhas and Carlos Marques dos Santos, as well as the invaluable contribution over the years of a career of more than 35 years the services of Promarinha, Mr. José Viegas and Cpt. Carlos Oliveira, the latter recently retired from active life.

He also underscored the importance of the company's role in the recent history of the Merchant Marine, giving Promarinha a decisive role in the dignification and dissemination of our Sea Man.

Among the honorees, Mr. José Viegas, recalled Promarinha's path, not always easy, from its foundation to the present day.

On March 15, 2019, a renovated board of directors was elected.

Promarinha's current Managing Director, also the company's largest shareholder, played a relevant role in the public and private sectors within the maritime industry, being accompanied in the board by Capt. José Senos and Mr. Pedro Martins, both with an extensive experience in the industry.

In this period of renovation, Promarinha wishes to publicly thank the dedication of more than 30 years of the former Directors Capt. Carlos Oliveira and Mr. Jose Manuel Santos Viegas to whom we wish good health and prosperity in the company of their families in this well-deserved stage.

In its 50th year, Promarinha will maintain the rigor and seriousness that defined its implementation and success within the industry, and gradually explore potential business opportunities in the most diverse sectors of maritime activity.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Housekeeping at a beautiful large country estate in Dorset.

The Principals will be in residence for up to 10 weeks of the year this is normally split between 3 - 5 trips of anything from 2-3 weeks at a time. When the Principals aren\'t in residence the hours are approx 9am - 3pm Monday - Friday so great opportunity for work life balance.

Ideally you will have in depth product knowledge when it comes to materials. In depth laundry knowledge and how to care for specific materials of clothing. You will be in charge of plants and flowers within the residence so if you have a background in floristry this is a bonus.

When the Principals are in residence you will be responsible to train a team of 2 other housekeepers/service personnel, to the high standards that are expected.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced captain to take command of a 55m MY.

This is a permanent position with a Mediterranean cruising schedule and a generous winter off-season. The yacht is privately owned, offers a competitive salary, and operates with an experienced crew. It is ideal for a captain looking to step into a well-established and supportive environment.

Start Date: 4 weeks Salary: Competitive, with generous benefits Leave: 4 months off a year (to be taken during the winter)

You will be managing the interior when the chief stew goes on leave, so you must be confident in leading another stew. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a minimum. B1B2 Visa in hand

We're seeking an experienced Captain and Stew / Cook / Deck couple to join this 30m Private / Light Charter MY in October 2024.

An ideal Captain candidate would have a Yachtmaster Offshore / Ocean (as a minimum), but ideally an MCA Master 200gt or anything larger. A strong level of previous Captain experience on yachts of a similar size is required with previous charter experience (ideally).

Previous engineering experience and engineering certificates (AEC 1 minimum) would also be very beneficial.

An ideal Stew / Cook / Deck candidate would have experience with both interior and galley duties for both private / charter itineraries. 

We are looking for a professional team with proven experience and longevity working together on yachts of a larger size/itinerary.

Salary : EUR 2000 to EUR 3000 Per Month

The deckhand’s main responsibilities are to maintain the exterior of the deck to a polished, pristine, immaculate condition. Depending on the size of the vessel you could be the only deckhand or in a larger team of multiple deckhands.

Duties will include: cleaning and maintenance of the exterior of the vessel, washing down, polishing, waxing, tender driving, looking after the water sports equipment and taking guests out on water sports such as water skiing, wake boarding, using jet skis. There will also be line handling and basic maintenance such as painting, sanding and varnishing.

Transferrable skills in carpentry, painting, varnishing, boat building, dinghy or small boat sailing or prior experience in engineering, hospitality/tourism, diving/water sports, will help you to secure your first position and make your CV stand out from the crowd.
