BLUE MOON Yacht for Sale

The 198-foot (60.35m) Feadship superyacht BLUE MOON was built by famed Dutch yacht builder Feadship. Launched from the Van Lent shipyard, BLUE MOON hit the water in 2005. This remarkable custom-built yacht features interior and exterior design by Donald Starkey and Lee Perot. An exemplary example of Feadship quality, BLUE MOON has won a variety of awards since her launch, including “Best full-displacement motor yacht over 56 meters” at the 2006 ShowBoats Awards, “Star of the Show” at the 2005 Monaco Yacht Show and a World Yachts World Trophy for yachts between 150 and 200 feet in 2006.

BLUE MOON benefits from the highest possible level of pedigree and craftmanship from her owner, but also features bespoke elements that set her apart from other yachts. BLUE MOON has an all-decks glass elevator that makes her accessible for all guests. She also features an observation lounge on her bridge deck that provides exceptional, panoramic views thanks to floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a sunroof that opens fresh air and natural light. One of the most appreciated features is the yacht’s 1,200-square-foot master stateroom, located on the main deck. In addition to being a simply opulent and comfortable place to rest one’s head, this suite also features a full office and a private gym.

The additional five staterooms of BLUE MOON, located below deck, are equally as comfortable as the master. The yacht’s flexible configuration allows for a variety of stateroom layouts, from three to five, depending on the owners’ or guests’ needs. For example, four of these five staterooms can be combined to create two large VIP suites, each of which has its own his-and-hers en-suite bathroom and a sitting room. Additionally, a guest gymnasium is on this deck. All staterooms feature entertainment facilities and top-quality amenities.

The interior spaces of BLUE MOON exemplifies classic styling with traditional elements creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. She offers a variety of spaces to relax and unwind, from her main deck main salon to the bridge deck lounge with a full bar, game table and large 82-inch drop-down TV. Guests can enjoy formal indoor dining on the main deck or the bridge deck, which also becomes an alfresco dining spaces once the enclosing glass panels are stowed. Up to 12 guests can enjoy the sumptuous experience at this wonderful table.

Other highlights of BLUE MOON include her on-deck Jacuzzi with large sunpads, her main deck aft lounge space, ideally suited for morning coffees or afternoon cocktails, her full suite of tenders and toys and her large swim platform providing easy access to the water.

BLUE MOON has been exceptionally maintained since her launch. In 2019, her Quantum Zero Speed stabilizers were upgraded to XT fin type. Her shore power units were replaced, and she completed her 15-year Lloyds’ survey. In 2018 the yacht’s superstructure was repainted and her hull and main-deck bulwarks were repainted in February 2021. The yacht has only had one owner since her launch and has been lovingly cared for by a long-time, experienced crew.

Owner’s Suite

Built in 2005, Blue Moon boasts a multitude of decks ideal for relaxation and entertainment indoors or outdoors, ensuring guests will live la dolce vita on the open waters. She is equipped with wheelchair accessibility, elevator, underwater lights and gym.

Guest Accommodation

Blue Moon offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising a master suite, three double cabins and two twin cabins. There are 8 beds in total, including 1 king, 3 queen and 4 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 16 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

You and your guests can enjoy a variety of experiences on Blue Moon, particularly a dedicated library, where you can unwind in seclusion. You can visit the well-equipped gym so that you can keep up with your fitness routine at sea or soak up the bubbles in style in the deck jacuzzi.

Blue Moon benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter, particularly wheelchair-friendly access, making this vessel suitable for all guests. Effortlessly return to your stateroom from any other deck onboard the elevator or enjoy additional privacy thanks to the separate crew passageway. Stay connected to the outside world on long voyages with satellite communications and in addition soak up the atmosphere after dark with dramatic underwater lights. With Wi-Fi connectivity you don't have to lose contact with the outside world, unless you want to and you can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.

Performance & Range

Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 4,700 nautical miles from her 141,700 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. Blue Moon features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels.

Blue Moon knows a thing or two about fun on the water, with an extensive selection of action packed water toys and accessories for you and your guests to enjoy whilst on charter. You'll be loving the huge adrenaline rush as you zip over the water on one of the two Yamaha WaveRunners. Additionally, there are towable toys offering fun and adventure. Another excellent feature are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. If that isn't enough Blue Moon also features wakeboards, kayaks, fishing equipment, kneeboards and paddleboards. When it comes to Tenders, Blue Moon has you covered - with two tenders, including a 8.53m/28' Chris Craft Tender.

Upon boarding from the stern you immediately notice that the vessel is very clean and tidy for a vessel of this vintage. The Sabre 36 Sedan is a well designed and quite handsome. Molded in steps port and starboard lead to the foredeck, and a stainless steel ladder with wide and deep wood treads lead to the bridge.

The salon is accessed through a hinged fiberglass door from the cockpit. The salon is inviting and comfortable with its rich cherry wood accents & cabinetry. The dinette/lounge is comfortable and neutral colors goes well with the beautiful woodwork.  A gorgeous satin finished cherry wood w/birds eye maple inlay serves casual dining duty.

The salon is the main lounging and entertaining room. A Fusion stereo system provides entertainment. 360-degree windows ensure the cabin is bright, comfortable and inviting. Storage is always a premium on a vessel and “Blue Moon” is well designed and has plenty of it. There are numerous salon cabinets and drawer storage. There is no wasted space and access is provided to every square inch.

For evening privacy to just to block the afternoon sun, shades are provided.

The galley is located down and forward of the salon to Port. The galley is U-shaped and is of the appropriate size for a vessel of this caliber. The beautiful woodwork is continued in the Galley with solid surface counters. Counter space is more than ample. A large stainless sink will come in handy. Lots of storage is available with every cabinet giving complete access to all of the storage areas. The refrigerator is facing forward with freezer above. A 2 burner cooktop provides cooking duty.

The Lower Helm is located forward and to Starboard of the Salon and has a pilothouse door for easy access to the Starboard sidedeck. Visibility forward, Port & Stbd are unhindered and the view aft is acceptable for a vessel of this configuration. A dinette is located to Port and can serve double duty as either a dining table for up to four adults or can be used as a chart table for planning your next adventure. The helm is well laid out with every instrument and switch within easy fingertip reach. Running the vessel from this well laid out lower helm is very comfortable.

The bridge can be accessed from the cockpit ladder. A stainless steel Bimini top provides shade when navigating. The helm is located forward with great visibility. A single helm seat keeps the captain comfortable and an additional seat to port allows a copilot to assist with navigation duties. Aft is a forward facing lounge for guests. As with the lower helm, the Bridge Helm is well laid out with everything in easy reach. Nearly all instruments and electronics have duplicate controls up here on the bridge as listed below. Aft of the Fly-Bridge is the Cockpit Hardtop w/ Tender Davit and Cradle.

Sabreline Gel-coat issues: If you are looking at Sabrelines from this era, you are probably familiar that all of these vessels have gel-coat crazing issues, most quite severe. The process for repair is extensive and costly. It requires a yard capable of striping the outer layer of gel-coat and reapplying either new gel-coat or paint. This process can cost between $35,000 and $50,000 depending on the location and materials chosen. The other issue is time. It could take several months to get an appointment and then, several weeks to complete the repair.

The good news is that Blue Moon has been stripped and painted from top to bottom. Upon purchase, cruising may commence immediately. 

Blue Moon is a beautiful example of a Sabreline 36 Sedan. The Sabreline 36 has a great classic profile and is considered a handsome yacht. This Sedan is owned by a very knowledgeable Yachtsman and has been maintained to the highest level. She is ready for your next adventure without delay. MAIN DECK: The Master Stateroom alone measures approximately 1200 sq. ft. The Master Stateroom Entrance hall is situated forward of the main foyer with a dramatic entrance hall of custom woods, a spectacular day head, coat closet and custom artworks. Owner’s Study is situated to starboard and features 42” flat screen TV, individual satellite receiver, computer, printer, and Wi-Fi access. The Owner’s Gym is situated to port and features a 42” flat screen TV, individual satellite receiver, en-suite head with shower and sink, Pilates Equipment, Treadmill, dumbbell weights, and Massage Table. Please note the Owner’s Gym can convert to a Queen stateroom (this would be the 7th stateroom). Ideal for a young couple, kids or 1 person.

Proceeding forward, the Master Stateroom is separated by a wall of mahogany ensuring ultimate privacy. The walk-around King Bed faces forward and features a 50” flat screen TV, surround sound, lounging area to starboard and to port. Forward access to His-and-Her en-suite Jacuzzi Tub with separate rain shower, private head and twin sinks. Walk-in closet to starboard for Him, walk-in closet with vanity to port for Her. Programmable safe: Internal dimensions 13 ½” wide, 10” deep, 8” high.

BELOW DECKS: Access below decks using the elevator or the spectacular iron sculpted spiral stairwell with railings on either side. The guest foyer features a mini-bar and the elegant glass elevator.
