Statement of Christian Gumpold, CEO and founder of MIGALOO:
The needs of Superyacht Owners for their vessels are more complex than ever. These wishes do not just include performance, length or design. Owner are looking for privacy , security and protection for themselves, their guests and their valuables, or for the fulfillment of unique experiences up to scientific desires as well as for the greatest possible exclusivity and limitation .
We belive the expectations on superyachts are rising faster and higher than ever.
Current and upcoming Yachting trends as well as UHNWI trends are: Privacy and security for Owner and Guests Exploration, expedtion and R&D Experiences and immaterial goods Individualisation Sustainability Innovation in design, materials, GA, overall concept and use cases
High tech and high-end entertainment Younger owners with no superyacht experience and high willingness for unconventional projects and cooperations
Frugal luxury: own less, but get more
New business models and operation models
We believe motor yachts and sailing yachts cannot fully satisfy the ever-rising demands of modern Owner. We believe the Yachting Industry needs a (r)evolutionary innovation. We believe Submersible Superyachts offer high (business) potentials for all parties - Owner, Designer, Builder, Supplier, Broker, Captain & Crew,...
We believe Submersible Superyachts are a new category of vessel type Owner can choose from, alongside to motor yachts and sailing yachts.
We believe that Submersible Superyachts are the Future of Yachting.
Owner Archetypes
MIGALOO Private Submersible Superyachts intentionally appeal to a highly exclusive and discerning group of Owners, though spanning a broad spectrum of age groups, professions, genders, locations and cultural backgrounds.
These Owner archetypes are characterized by a common trait - an outstanding motivation for owning and operating a MIGALOO Private Submersible Superyacht.
Each motivation can be attributed to existing or upcoming trends among Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals (UHNWI) - from the fascination with exploration, exclusivity and immersive experiences to the paramount importance of security or business-oriented motivations, the archetypes pursue highly demanding, professional, complex goals and areas of interest.
To address these challenges optimally, MIGALOO's individual Owner-centered design process pays maximum attention to empathy, values, motivations, desires, customization and the specific requirements of the Owners.
MIGALOOs' vision is to develop extraordinary designs above and below the waterline - for the most visionary and innovative Owner

Tour the World’s Most Luxurious Submarine Superyacht
If yacht owners really want to put everyone at port to shame, they should consider sailing on the Migaloo Private Submersible Yacht. A concept yacht created by Migaloo, an Austrian design and engineering firm, the line of luxury superyachts offers a range of bespoke underwater crafts that vary in size. After sailing the new Migaloo submersible yacht on the water, owners can close up the decks and turn the craft into a fully operational submarine.
“What we are attempting to do is to create a living space where exterior and interior interact in harmony,” says Christian Gumpold, managing director and head of design at Migaloo. With rooms that open to the ocean for dining alfresco while above water, and large viewing galleries for taking in the marine life when submersed, the Migaloo creates that harmony. What’s more, the firm reaffirms its focus on luxury with optional amenities that include helipads, swimming pools, movie theaters, elevators, wine cellars, libraries, and private terraces.

Of course, safety is a major focal point as well. Each superyacht will be built to U.S. Navy SUBSAFE safety standards, which ensure that the interiors will stay watertight and the vessel can recover from unanticipated flooding. According to Migaloo, solitude is a major point of interest for yacht owners, which is why the ability to dive beneath the surface and out of view might have great appeal. “Privacy is a big issue on superyachts,” says Gumpold, “our answer to this concern is simply submerging the vessel into complete privacy.”

Migaloo: The $2 Billion Superyacht Submarine
Migaloo , an Austrian enterprise, has introduced a pioneering concept in hybrid diesel/electric submarine yachts, under the banner of Migaloo Private Submersible Yachts.
In January 2024, Migaloo revealed its latest innovation, the Migaloo M5, a 165.8-meter submersible superyacht.
Engineered for both tropical and arctic environments, the Migaloo M5 boasts the capability to submerge to a depth of 250 meters for approximately four weeks.
Christian Gumpold, CEO of Migaloo, expressed his belief in the burgeoning category of submersible superyachts, stating, “In addition to motor yachts and sailboats, I believe submersible superyachts will become an additional category of private vessels for owners to choose from.”

Breaking news, move aside, billionaire bunkers — this company is building superyacht submersibles for the mega-rich.
Talk about making a splash.
Move over, billionaire bunkers — because Austrian company Migaloo is bringing the ultimate in luxury to the depths of the ocean with its groundbreaking concept: the private submersible superyacht.
Forget sprawling mansions, this is the era of underwater extravagance.
Migaloo has unveiled its ambitious vision for what it touts as the “world’s one and only private submersible superyacht,” presenting “a not-yet-existing alternative to large privately owned surface vessels.”
Imagine descending 820 feet into the azure depths, and in the confines of a luxury vessel.
Dubbed the M5, this submarine marvel boasts dimensions that rival the grandeur of any floating palace, stretching 545 feet in length and 75 feet across at its widest point. And with a range of 9,320 miles, it’s poised to explore the farthest reaches of the ocean.
But luxury isn’t just about size; it’s about customization.
Migaloo understands this, offering its elite clientele a blank canvas.
From helipads to hot air balloons, underwater shark-feeding stations to sub-tenders for aquatic adventures, the options are as limitless as the depths themselves.
Security is paramount in this world of excess, and Migaloo doesn’t disappoint.
Partnering with US security experts SAFE, it promises a level of protection that even James Bond would envy. It’s a private submersible fortress, ensuring the safety of both occupants and valuables alike.
“Owners are looking for privacy, security and protection for themselves, their guests and their valuables,” CEO Christian Gumpold states on Migaloo’s website.
The vessel could remain submerged for up to four weeks at a time.
Of course, such exclusivity comes at a price.
While the exact cost remains a closely guarded secret, estimates hover around a staggering $2 billion, with maintenance costs likely to add even more to the bill.
Yet, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen such audacious concepts.
Aston Martin flirted with the idea of a luxury submarine back in 2017, while Migaloo itself made waves with their floating island concept, Kokomo Ailand.
The question remains: will the M5 become a reality, or will it remain a tantalizing dream for the super-rich?
Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: the era of billionaire basement bunkers is officially submerged.
But let’s hope it’s fate is nothing like the Titanic submersible which imploded last summer , killing five, including Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet.

Migaloo PSY reveals 166m submersible superyacht concept Migaloo M5
Migaloo PSY (Private Submersible Yachts) has revealed a 165.8-metre submersible superyacht concept known as Migaloo M5. Suitable in both tropical and arctic conditions, the Migaloo M5 is designed to be fully submerged at a depth of 250 metres for approximately four weeks.
"In addition to motor yachts and sailing yachts, I believe that submersible superyachts will become an additional category of private vessels that owners can choose from," said Migaloo PSY CEO Christian Gumpold.
The Migaloo M5 benefits from 1,000 square metres of interior space, with 220 square metres dedicated to the owner. Accommodation is between 14-20 guests and 32-40 crew, dependent on the owners' preference in ratio.
Leisure highlights include a spa (measuring 200 square metres), an outdoor cinema, a helipad, helicopter hangar and two "Midget Submarines" for further deep sea exploration. For surface and land cruising, the yacht also comes with a 12.5-metre limousine tender and two expedition vehicles, alongside an extensive collection of water toys.
"Key partners, such as the shipyard, are up to the owners’ preferences. But the team is able to supervise all partners during engineering, building, sea trials and outfitting, up to handover to the owner [and] including after sales services and yacht management," explained a Migaloo PSY spokesperson.
The development of special knowledge training for captains and crew can also be managed by the company.
The Migaloo M5 is expected to have a range of over 8,000 nautical miles, with a speed of 20 knots when surfaced and 12 knots when submerged.

There's Now a Superyacht That Doubles As a Fully Functional Submarine
By Ryan on 08/05/2022 10:37 AM
The Austrian Superyacht company Migaloo is offering a wide range of submersible yacht solutions to accommodate those that need extra privacy.
They offer 5 submersible luxury vessels that allow you to dive below the surface.
The 5 versions of the submarine yachts range in size to offer the perfect superyacht for your needs.
Migaloo offers five different submersible superyachts, ranging in size from as small as 230 feet (70 meters) long to as large as 928 feet (283 meters) long.
From smallest to largest, the Migaloo submarine yachts come in the following design models: the M2 (928 ft.), the M5 (541 ft.), and the M7 (928 ft.).
Each of these designs is built to order, though the company does offer a few specs for its M5-sized superyacht.
These submerging superyachts can accommodate around 22-34 guests and up to 32-40 staff members, and they feature a diesel-electric powertrain along with a robust Stirling AIP engine.
You can also buy several different kinds of configurations, complete with departments for the ship itself, and toys that can be used independently of the yacht.
Other incredible add-ons that you can purchase with the submarine yacht combo include surface tender boats, ROV and UUV underwater vehicles, jetskis, and a helicopter.
These include the fly deck, sun and sail deck, beach deck, main sub deck, lower sub deck and battery and tank sub deck.
No matter who you are, you’re gonna need a crap-ton of money to afford this private submersible superyacht, but we here at OddityMall believe in you and think you can do it.
And it’ll obviously be worth it once you can afford it, so you can host all the world’s most elite people to an underwater meeting — or just the party of a lifetime.
And if you’re on this page just pretending you’re rich enough to afford the Migaloo superyacht submarine combo, well, there’s absolutely no shame in that.
You can snag the Migaloo superyacht that doubles as a fully functional submarine for right around $2.3 billion!
