We went there for a wedding reception. Apparently you can't have a wedding in this venue unless you know someone. Fancy. That said, for such a fancy place, I was a bit surprised at the organization, or lack thereof. Yes, some things cannot be changed, such as a very small dance floor, full of people continuously bumping into one another, but I think the food and drinks could've better been sorted out. They have a bar inside and some sitting rooms. The bar was in one separate section from the sitting rooms, and more so, from the big room where the buffet was. Then, the dessert was done in yet another room. So confusing! That being said, the wedding was lovely and fortunately there was lots of parking, but honestly speaking, I think this is more of a day-to-day place for people to get together rather than a wedding venue. Makes no sense to me why there are so many rooms otherwise.
We were fortunate to dine in this private club. Such a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable with attention to our table the entire time. The goat cheese crusted lamb chops were sublime. My wife enjoyed the Faroe Islands Salmon as well. The entree took a little extra time due to busy night (not really in our opinion) so we were comped chicken & kale soup.
it's a staple member-ship club in the nsb! i've sailed in the brewers cup regatta a few times!
We were guests of members for an evening out at Smyrna yacht club. Our Dining experience was outstanding as the food was scrumptious and the Service exceptional. The Clam chowder was to die for. What a special night at this unique and historical Club, situated on the intercostal waters of new Smyrna Beach Florida. Thank you and keep up the work
My parents are members so I always join them for dinner when I visit. Service is always personable. They have weekly specials. You can eat in the dining room or outside at the tiki. Dining room is business casual. The bar attracts a lively older crowd for happy hour. Friday nights there is a musician and free appetizers. It is a great social atmosphere with great entertainment options.
This is a members and guests only club and we attended as guests. We had both dinner and breakfast here during a short visit. We only had minor issues with the food but found the service to be excellent and far exceeding the standards of many clubs back home. We have patronized some of the best restaurants in our area and none have this level of service. The professionals who run this establishment should be very proud of the staff. They are beyond first class.
Having drinks in the afternoon sunshine. Great bar that overlooks the intercoastal. took a tour around the dining hall, very classy historical place.
I went to brunch for Father's Day. Cold coffee was served, wait staff disappeared. Spartan banquet, chef on the grill served raw omelets and the ingredients were frozen. Many people complained and brought back their omelets to get them cooked more. I asked for a fresh waffle and the chef looked like I put her out. There were a few waffles on a rack that they were saving so they would not have make fresh waffles. The potato look like canned army food. The corn beef hash was the same. All of the orange juice glasses were dirty and had food particles stuck to them. Bacon had two pieces in the bin. The restroom was dirty and a cockroach on his back greeted me. I left hungry. Very poor experience. I would turn in my membership if I had one.

Smyrna Yacht Club
Over a century ago, around 1884, wealthy sportsmen whose leisure time was spent hunting, fishing and cruising on luxurious yachts, decided to form a yacht club. In New Smyrna Beach they found the ideal location for cruising and holding regattas. The great industrialists and Europeans with titles traveled and sailed for weeks to spend their leisure time in this wonderful cruising area.
By 1928 plans materialized to form Smyrna Yacht Club with thirty-six charter member families. The wealthy inventor Russ J. Christy became the first Commodore serving for six years.
In the thirties an architect noted for his Spanish Renaissance designs was chosen to build a clubhouse. SYC soon became a landmark along the Indian River. The Spanish Renaissance styling is preserved and admired by members of other clubs in the Florida Council.
Social history was made in 1932 when SYC sponsored an international regatta. Sportsmen and fans from England, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Cuba joined US enthusiasts with the grand prize being the tall silver Lipton Cup Trophy permanently on display in the Club’s trophy case. It is one of twelve deeded to clubs around the U.S. by tea magnate Sir Thomas Lipton and the only one in Florida.
Membership grew, a ballroom was added and by 1951 the Club obtained a license and opened the bar. The swimming pool was added in 1964 and an East Room was added overlooking the pool.Over the coming years, membership increased and the Club matured. Inner and outer docks were added as well as the Tiki.
Since the Yacht Club was established by members interested in boating, the SYC Sailors and Old Men of the Sea continue the rich history of boating, racing and teaching members to sail.
In the early history of our Club, wooden powerboat racing was held regularly from 1928 to 1941. Today we have wooden Cocktail Class boats and have hosted an Official Cocktail Class Wooden Boat (CCWBRA) Power Boat Regatta. There will be boats competing from all over the US for the Governor’s Cup donated by Governor Sholtz in the 1930’s.
Membership continues to grow as the Club goes through planned renovations and improvements. We have a rich history of which we are proud and continue to carry the legacy forward to the future.

Smyrna Yacht Club in New Smyrna Beach sails along with new general manager
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- It was the burgee as well as the torch that was passed to Sean McGuidwin as the new general manager of the Smyrna Yacht Club from Sandy Lounsbury who has retired after seven years at the helm and 30 years altogether.
The announcement was made Tuesday, though the transition was made earlier this month.
Shortly before taking the Club's helm, McGuidwin, the club's former food and beverage manager, achieved the coveted designation of certified club manager in February. The CCM is issued by the Club Managers Association of America and McGuidwin is one of less than 1,500 worldwide who hold this designation.
McGuidwin has been in private club management since 1999 and in the service industry since 1985. Besides club management, he is a very accomplished sailor, having taken his first helm at the age of eight. McGuidwin and his wife, CC, and daughter Joslin, moved to Volusia County in 1999. Their youngest child, Jordan, was born here in 2003.
Approving of the transition is SYC Commodore Ron Blackwood. He and his wife, Ann, moved to New Smyrna Beach after he served for 11 years as mayor of Mount Vernon, NY.
Blackwood is very active in the New Smyrna Beach community. He is a member and past president of the Rotary Club, board member of Habitat for Humanity, vice president of the Marine Discovery Center Board of Directors and a former board member of the Volusia County Council on Aging.

There is no reason this course should be under 4 stars, no idea why everyone leaves bad reviews about the restaurant for the ... golf course. Track was in great shape, played fast (finished in 3 hours), no complains at all. Thanks for an amazing round, sorry everyone?s standards are so high in Florida thought it was great. Read more
This course was in great shape! Tee boxes were the only place where they might improve and it was just a few of those. Played ... pretty decent but this is a challenging course and lots of ways to lose a few balls. Quite a bit of water on a lot of the holesbut most today were out of reach of my drives. Beautiful day all day while we played and just a little touch of rain towards theend to cool us down. Great day on the course. Read more
Our server was exceptional. She had both rooms to take of her own. We had a late lunch of onion rings - always delicious. I had ... a tuna sandwich which was good but I could have used some mayonnaise. My husband got the ham and swiss cheese sandwich. He saidit was very good. Both sandwiches were large. A coke and lemonade finished it for us. No room for dessert.. maybe next time.Recommend for lunch. Have not been here for dinner. Read more
