Definitely, we know how unpredictable Melbourne weather can be! When holding your ceremony with us, we would suggest setting the dance floor on the side of the reception room as this allows us to close the partition wall, creating a private space for your ceremony. The ceremony chairs and ivory carpet would be setup over the dance floor and you would be positioned in front of the floor to ceiling windows, allowing you to still have the stunning water as your backdrop!

Yes, absolutely we do! Our chefs are very accommodating in catering to dietary needs as long as we know them in advance, but don’t take our word for it, “our guests, especially those with food allergies, couldn't stop raving about the delicious food and thoughtful service" - Lily K.

We can cater to a maximum of 250 people for a seated wedding reception and up to 400 people for a cocktail wedding, both allowing room for a dance floor. If you are looking at also having your ceremony with us, then we suggest a maximum of 160 people for a seated wedding reception to allow for the indoor ceremony backup option.

Having a smaller wedding? Not to worry at all, we have a partition wall in the room, allowing us to create a smaller, more intimtae wedding space!

Good news - there’s no venue hire fee! Instead, we just ask for a minimum spend on food and drinks, which varies depending on the day and time of year.

Discover Sailing Day 2023

Our Discover Sailing Day is free for all to attend and all the boats and safety equipment is provided by the Club. All you need to bring is clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet, sun screen and a hat. Shoes with non-marking soles are preferred.  Registration is essential and you can register here.

Our friendly Discover Sailing Hosts will welcome you to our Club upon arrival and are ready to answer any questions and explain the activities taking place during the Discover Sailing Day.

When it comes to selecting a sporting and social opportunity for yourself and your family, you can’t go past SYC. The Club offers excellent facilities, very active year round boating and social programs and all of this in a wonderful location complimented by resources to ensure that your needs are met both on water and on land. This is your chance to visit Sandringham Yacht Club, get out on the water and see how much fun sailing is!

SYC’s Discover Sailing Day is offered for FREE and is a fantastic way to have a great day out with your partner, friends, work colleagues or family. We look forward to showing you just how fun, safe, accessible, and affordable sailing is.  To secure your space for this fun day, it is essential that you register with the Club beforehand .  We invite you to use the menu bar to the right to DISCOVER what Sandringham Yacht Club has on offer!
