As any local Charlestonian will tell you, don't let our weather forecasts fool you into missing out on a gorgeous charter or beautiful sunset! Our weather forecasts call for a 30-50% chance of rain nearly every day! If it does rain, it is usually only for a short period during a pop-up shower.

01 Will I get seasick?

Since we stay inside the harbor, protected from larger waves of the open sea, it is unlikely that you would get seasick. The water is calm and the boats are only subjected to large waves created by other boats. Concerned passengers could bring products that contain ginger, such as ginger cookers, or Ginger Ale because they have been known to help calm an upset stomach. Be sure to start taking ginger or any other sea-sickness medications the day before your charter for the best results. We recommend you stay away from the drowsy kinds. Recommendations are provided for informational purposes only. Please consult your physician with any questions regarding a medical condition.

02 Are your yachts safe?

Yes! Our yachts are clean, well-maintained, and fully insured for charter. All of our vessels meet or exceed safety requirements by the United States Coast Guard with onboard equipment that includes Type 1 Personal Flotation Devices (life jackets) for every passenger, an approved Sound Producing Device, fire extinguishers, flares, a VHF radio, & an approved throwable ring buoy. They also meet equipment, operation, and pollution prevention regulations established by the Coast Guard. Vessel Captains possess a valid license issued by the U. S. Coast Guard and undergo random drug screenings.

03 Can I bring more than 6 passengers?

Yes, on our Motor Yacht Kismet, which has been specifically designed to carry up to 23 passengers. You will find 23 to be pretty tight, we recommend keeping the maximum passenger count to under 20. 

The sailing yachts both are limited to 6 passengers, however, you can rent boat sailboats and take 12, having 6 on each boat.

04 Do children or infants count as a passenger?

Yes, they do. The United States Coast Guard considers every person, except for the Captain and crew as a passenger. Children require supervision by parents or guardians at all times and must be capable of remaining calmly seated for several hours. If you are bringing younger children, we recommend a charter length of no longer than 2 hours.

Mike is  a fun-loving, experienced, licensed captain based in Charleston, SC. He is a seasoned boater dedicated to safety and will ensure that your party has a memorable day or evening on the water.

Mike is an Air Force veteran who served on Air Force One for many years. He currently volunteers with the Charleston Veterans Drug Treatment Court helping our troubled veterans get back on their feet.

Mike is ready to provide a great time on the water for your boat rental events including corporate events, birthday parties, anniversaries, or any other occasion. All local, state and federal laws will be adhered to and no illegal drugs nor alcohol consumption by MINORS under the age of 21 will be allowed during the charter.

Private charter on mystique, experience full-service, superior luxury with our private boat charters in charleston, sc.

Our sailing charters can include any combination of relaxing and informative harbor tours, off shore sailing trips or even yacht racing for up to 6 passengers. We provide basic beverages and you are welcome to BYOB or have it catered. If you have more than six  passengers you can book both Fate and Mystique at the same time or we can accommodate you on Kismet, our luxury motor yacht . We have a two hour minimum (dock to dock) for all of our sails which can sail you past the Battery, out to Fort Sumter or Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and back. Add additional time and we can sail around the entire harbor (3 hours), out through the Jetties to the Atlantic Ocean or drop anchor and eat dinner while watching the sun set. Every day is different as the winds and currents dictate our best travel directions, no two trips are exactly alike.

Things we see on a typical 2 hour harbor cruise:

• Arthur Ravanel JR Bridge
• We can also head out to Fort Sumter to see where the Civil War began
• Dolphins playing in the bow wake or feeding in the shallows

We accommodate small groups many who have never been sailing before, its a great way to test the waters of the sailing world. Guests can sit back and relax or pilot the sailboat and be as active in the operation of the boat as they wish. Formal sailing instructions can be given as well. If you wish to partake in the popular Wednesday Night Yacht Racing , check the calendar for availability or give is a call. The Wednesday Night summer series starts in May and ends in late August, we also can participate in the weekend races during the Spring, Fall and Winter. Chartering both boats with a large group is a great team building experience. Summer series races on Wed nights depart at 5:15pm and are usually 2.5 hours and we’re back to the dock just before sunset.

Sunsets are a beautiful time which starts between 3:30pm Winter and 7:00 in the Summer months. Approximate sailing times are as follows and are not exact, the sun sets differently each day and we adjust the charters accordingly. See the calendar for exact times and availability. Fate is a 2007 Beneteau 49, Mystique is a 2008 Beneteau 43.  Both yachts are nearly identical having two large staterooms, two bathrooms, a large galley and living room.  Both boats kept in like new condition, washed and cleaned daily and before and after each charter, every guest has that like new boat experience.  Even though our sailboats are larger and nicer than all the other charter boats they are perfect for small groups, in fact half our charters are just a single couple.  Having a large boat gives you a smooth comfortable ride and nobody every gets seasick!

Charleston Yacht Tours start at $900 for 2.5 hours. If you want to book a Charleston Harbor Cruise all day or night, it will only cost you an extra $300/half hour. Additional hours must be booked in advance. Due to time constraints, swimming is only available on cruises for three hours or more. Have a smaller group? Check out our other boats.
