HANSE 350 Fleetwood to Shotley

The crew were very informative and kept me up to date at all times. It was not an easy trip and it was at a difficult time of year. The very mindful of ensuring the boat wasn't subject to excessive wind & wave loads. The boat was clean and tidy when I got on board, and they were very helpful when i joined them from Cowes to Shotley, the very last leg of the journey.

Career Development program

I recently completed a 3-month Career Development Program with Halcyon Yachts. During this time, I was placed on multiple deliveries throughout Europe and the UK, where I had the privilege of learning from their top delivery skippers. This helped me to develop my own approach as a skipper, as I was able to observe the unique ways each skipper ran their boat and select what worked for me. It was refreshing to work with a company that delivers on all their promises. I was scheduled on back-to-back deliveries with no days lost waiting for boats. My expenses were paid timeously. Travel between boats was straightforward and being a South African they assisted me with my travel documents. I can highly recommend Halcyon Yachts to any sailor who is serious about building a career at sea.

Brilliant Delivery service. Thankyou

I must pass on my thanks and give a glowing recommendation to Halcyon Yacht Deliveries who have just brought my Grenadier back to the UK from the Netherlands. We weren't allowed to fetch her ourselves due to the Dutch and English covid rules, but Halcyon managed to find a dual nationality skipper who could make the crossing. Having never used a delivery firm before I was quite skeptical, especially as our boat is old and quite quirky, but the skipper took two days extra to familiarize himself with the boat (at his cost) and the whole trip went like a dream. The boat was even washed and tidied after 6 months ashore. The price was fantastic. I would definitely use them again.

We were pleased to be able to help you with this yacht delivery. Have a fantastic summer on board your beautiful yacht!

diabolical service. Did not even get our boat a third of the way from Seychelles to Australia, and still have the cheek to not refund a penny. They were completely out of there depth but to proud to admit it. Abandoned our boat and a female crew member in the Maldives. To top it off their dodgy Skipper, Micheal Stewart, took advantage of the situation and attempted to sell the boat. Unprofessional and unethical. Wouldn’t let them loose with a rowing boat on a lake. Beware … In reply to your comment, it's only slanderous if it's untrue.

Date of experience : November 03, 2021

This review is slanderous and does not reflect the situation accurately at all. We all tried so hard to make the delivery work and we went above and beyond to help the owner on numerous occassions. We did eventually have to cancel the contract on the basis of safety to the vessel and crew. The yacht was in very poor order and the owner was refusing to allow us to make the repairs required to continue the journey. It was not a decision we took lightly and we continued to help the owner after the contract had ended and the crew had returned home.

Best decision to use Halycon Yachts for our delivery from UK to Portugal in late April 2023. Five star rated skipper. Made all the right decisions to keep us safe whilst crossing Biscay. Would highly recommend this Company

Great work guys

Great work guys - not the easiest mission: A 46 year old yacht that had to come back 450 nmiles, in a pandemic, from a country not allowing UK nationals IN…. And a boat bought unseen by the new owners.. what could go wrong?? But you did it and we are so thrilled with Ithaka. Big thanks also to the Brilliant skipper Ron (yes plenty of weather on the voyage) and the marvellous crew.

Delivery from Gironde France to Portishead UK

The only issue was the late replacement of the skipper which led to a delayed departure. However, a replacement was quickly found and the delivery successfully completed. Without that, it would have been a 5-star rating. The skipper and crew were friendly, helpful and thorough and the back-up from Halcyon could not be faulted. I liked the WhatsApp group set up to keep the owner, crew and Halcyon updated on progress and conditions with text and photos. A technical fault discovered at about halfway was swiftly and professionally dealt with without adversely affecting the schedule. On arrival the yacht was very neatly and cleanly handed back to the owner. Would thoroughly recommend Halcyon.

I have just completed passage /delivery trip of my new boat a Vancouver 32Hamnavoe from Falmouth to Courtmacsherry west cork with the help of a delivery skipper from Halcyon Yachts called Any Barker. You couldnt meet a nicer guy who gelled with my crew and for whom nothing was a problem that couldn’t be sorted quietly with no fuss he even stayed on for the night in Cork to sample the local Guinness!! I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anybody and would hope to have him on board my boat in future. Also many thanks to Pete and Minke back at base FergusDunlea Clontarf Dublin Ireland

A pleasure helping you Fergus. You have bought a wonderful yacht!

Preveza to Dover

Due to ill health we needed to move our Beneteau 423 from Preveza, Greece to Dover which is our our local home port. Halcyon Yachts agreed to take on the delivery, estimated a delivery time of 27 days and set out on 20th August 2020. Andreas, the skipper was very aware of the likely implications of Covid when it came to stopping off points and made proper provisions. Unfortunately they did encounter some fuel problems on the trip and managed to effectively overcome these. The delivery was made safely, only taking one extra day due to the fuel problems, and the yacht was delivered safely to her mooring in Dover. We had good contact with the crew throughout the trip and everything was done to a high professional standard for which we are very grateful. Thank you Halcyon!

Ipswich to Gosport

I needed to get my recently purchased yacht from Ipswich to Gosport and had a crew ready to help me. Due to the weather changing had to push the dates and lost my crew. Contacted Halcyon and they happilly arranged to have Peter Grimes available for the trip. The trip had its moments and problems were sorted methodically and logically which enabled us to press on and complete each leg of the trip on time. I thought Peter’s knowledge and experience was the key factor in the trip being able to proceed. We experienced some not so kind weather and a bitter cold wind and the only people out in early March. Peter was excellent and I would recommend him to others without hesitation. If I needed help again he would be my first number to dial.

Delivery Crew for Halcyon International Yacht Deliveries

My first delivery as crew for Halcyon International and I joined a long passage from Southampton to Greece, and it was faultless. From the initial contact and necessary admin right through to our arrival back in the UK everything was clearly explained and swiftly completed. Our very experienced skipper Glenn kept us on track and although we faced some minor issues with the boat along the way, he always made sure the crew were informed and our options discussed. The clients couldn't have been nicer, and I would highly recommend sailing for Halcyon, I certainly will again

Communication was excellent. They went out of their way to make the delivery stress free and were very helpful pointing out any issues with the boat. Appreciated the short notice delivery. The crew left the boat in a tidy manner as well. Will use again in the future.

Yacht Delivery La Roche Bernard to Chichester

Very professional delivery in excellent time and with short notice, plus a remote handover. My yacht returned to Chichester just as I had left her in France, and was cleaned and tidied before the crew left. I would have no hesitation in recommending Halcyon Yachts, both the crew and the support team at base.

Highly recommended.

I have worked with Halcyon yachts for the past three years as a freelance Skipper, I have completed in the region of 40 deliveries. In that time I have never had a complaint of the service they provide. Yacht deliveries, by there nature can be challenging and difficult, in every instance where myself and my crew have needed help and support from Pete Green and his team I have never been let down. Halcyon yachts are very reliable and totally focus on completing the yacht deliveries safely and cost effectively for the clients. Halcyon yachts are experts in their field and I highly recommend their service.

Halcyon Yachts are the people to go to if you want a first class service. All the team at Halcyon Yachts are excellent at communicating throughout the process to deliver your yacht in the most efficient and safe way possible. The skippers evidently highly trained and have a great deal of experience of sailing all sorts of vessels. They have extremely reasonable and competitive prices. We would not hesitate to come to Halycon if we need assistance in future to relocate our yacht, and would certainly recommend them to anyone with similar needs.

Thank you for your comments Morwenna. Happy sailing!

I recently worked with the Halcyon team in delivering my Jenneau SO42DS from Blankenberge Belgium to Cork Ireland, where they provided a skipper and crew. Overall the experience was 1st class in all aspects of the trip, such as route planning, communications, boat preparation and delivery execution. As well as getting the technical aspects of the trip spot on, we really had an enjoyable trip with our skipper Glenn Upton and crew Robbie McGregor. Even though we didn't need them during the trip, you always felt the shore team were on standby to sort out any issues if they arose. The boat was cleaned and handed over in a spotless condition which was a really nice touch. I'd have no problem in recommending Halcyon to any of my friends.

Delivery Cascais to Fowey

From start to finish Halcyon Yachts provided an excellent service, from a straight forward booking service to dealing with customs on arrival to UK. The skipper was very professional in the planning and the execution of the delivery making sure that the crew (including myself as owner) were consulted and fully aware of the passage plan. The weather was against us but the skipper planned a route that avoided the worst of it. At no time did I feel that unnecessary risks were being taken to meet deadlines. I would highly recommend Halcyon for your yacht delivery.

A thoroughly professional outfit

We recruited Halcyon to run an IPV coded sea trial on a 53' ketch we are looking to purchase. The service was great - very well organised. Chichester to Chatham

Smooth and efficient delivery by the Halcyon team, James the skipper and his crew. From start to finish our experience with Halcyon Yachts has been professional and courteous. Glenn Upton was the perfect skipper, helped by his crew Benjamin Sellers. Career Development Scheme 2022-23

Through Halcyon’s Career Development Program I spent the year working on a wide variety of sailing yachts, learning a great range from yacht maintenance to Astro-Navigation, as well as getting to travel to some of the most beautiful places across the globe. The mileage I built up of roughly 16,000nm has put me on a great track for future job opportunities and hope to get my Yacht Master Ocean in the coming months. I can’t highly recommend to anyone looking to start out in the sailing industry but doesn’t know where or maybe struggling, that with Halcyon you will have a great experience at the same time as being safe and working with a great team on the boat and on land. Thank you to Pete and the team, can’t wait for the next delivery!

Seychelles to Australia

Our experience with Halcyon has been nothing but traumatising, and financially debilitating. The issues we have experienced are to many to write about here, however, most concerning is the involvement their skipper, Micheal Stewart, had in us being taken advantage of by many thousands of dollars. In our opinion, Halcyon have neglected there duty of care and 5 star experience. This makes me question their ability to handle difficult situations in a professional and honest manner. We are currently out of pocket ~ $50,000 AUD and more by the time the boat arrives in Australia. Halcyon why don't you reply to our emails and work with us to come up with a resolution? Some form of compensation or refund should be the beginning at least. The boat only travelled 1163 NM yet we've been charged for the entire trip, plus 25 delay days in the Maldives (at no fault of our own or the boat), which has impacted our business to the sum of a lot of money. Our catamaran will be chartered in Australia, therefore everyday it is not here we are loosing thousands. We feel you are leaving us hanging as the situation seems to have been ignored on your behalf. As a business owner, surely you can understand the impact this can have on a company. We ask you to do the right thing, and refund the money you owe us at least.

Date of experience : 20 November 2021

I needed a delivery at short notice

I needed a delivery at short notice, the Halcyon Yachts responded well, had a crew within a week for trip back from Portugal to the UK in Sept 2019. The trip was hard and in-spite of a few mechanical problems, the team persisted, used their imagination to secure & implement solutions without much delay and successfully delivered the yacht safely to our home port in Suffolk.

1961 Alden Challenger 38 Delivery

So very impressed with my experience using Halcyon to deliver my rather beautiful and somewhat well travelled 1961 Alden Challenger. Despite a number of technical issues and battles with weather (a January delivery with very variable weather), boat arrived safely and in significantly better condition that when it started. There was good communication, and a can-do attitude shown throughout by the skipper. I would highly recommend them.

The fin keel version sails very well and the hull is very strong, (over an inch thick around the keel). Headroom is a bit limited, but overall, a good solid boat.

They have a nice name ;-)

It's big sister, the Halcyon 27 is a very nice yacht. But there is little connection between the two except the name and constructor. So, I'd expect an H23 to be well built and strong.

Lakesailor

If it's got a trailer (that's roadworthy) as well, it's got to be worth an £800 offer. It's replacing sails and motors that knocks the value of bargain-basement yachts.

The Halcyon 23 has a lot to answer for - it was the first boat I ever sailed on, in 1975, and I was hooked for life! I don't remember much detail, but it was a solid little boat with cosy accomodation. The boat the OP has viewed seems remarkably cheap; there is one near my mooring which is for sale at £6500, which I would say is expensive. Could be a worthwhile project?

Review of Halcyon 27

Basic specs..

The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all.

The boat is equipped with 2 cabins and 4 berths.

The boat equipped with a masthead rig. The advantage of a masthead rig is its simplicity and the fact that a given sail area - compared with a fractional rig - can be carried lower and thus with less heeling moment.

The Halcyon 27 is equipped with a long keel. A full keel provide a better directional stability than a similar boat with a fin keel; on the other hand, better directional stability means also that the boat is more difficult to handle in a harbour with less space.

The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 1.22 - 1.32 meter (4.00 - 4.30 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.

Halcyon 27 is typically equipped with a Wickström gasoline engine at 7 hp (5 kW). Calculated max speed is about 3.4 knots.

Sailing characteristics

This section covers widely used rules of thumb to describe the sailing characteristics. Please note that even though the calculations are correct, the interpretation of the results might not be valid for extreme boats.

What is Capsize Screening Formula (CSF)?

The capsize screening value for Halcyon 27 is 1.60, indicating that this boat could - if evaluated by this formula alone - be accepted to participate in ocean races.

What is Theoretical Maximum Hull Speed?

The theoretical maximal speed of a displacement boat of this length is 6.0 knots. The term "Theoretical Maximum Hull Speed" is widely used even though a boat can sail faster. The term shall be interpreted as above the theoretical speed a great additional power is necessary for a small gain in speed.

The immersion rate is defined as the weight required to sink the boat a certain level. The immersion rate for Halcyon 27 is about 95 kg/cm, alternatively 535 lbs/inch. Meaning: if you load 95 kg cargo on the boat then it will sink 1 cm. Alternatively, if you load 535 lbs cargo on the boat it will sink 1 inch.

Sailing statistics

This section is statistical comparison with similar boats of the same category. The basis of the following statistical computations is our unique database with more than 26,000 different boat types and 350,000 data points.

What is Motion Comfort Ratio (MCR)?

What is L/B (Length Beam Ratio)?

What is a Ballast Ratio?

What is Displacement Length Ratio?

SA/D (Sail Area Displacement ratio) Indicates how fast the boat is in light wind: - Cruising Boats have ratios 10-15 - Cruiser-Racers have ratios 16-20 - Racers have ratios above 20 - High-Performance Racers have ratios above 24 Sail-area/displacement ratio (SA/D ratio): 13.03

Maintenance

When buying anti-fouling bottom paint, it's nice to know how much to buy. The surface of the wet bottom is about 11m 2 (118 ft 2 ). Based on this, your favourite maritime shop can tell you the quantity you need.

If you need to renew parts of your running rig and is not quite sure of the dimensions, you may find the estimates computed below useful.

UsageLengthDiameter
Jib sheet 8.2 m(26.9 feet)10 mm(3/8 inch)
Genoa sheet8.2 m(26.9 feet)10 mm(3/8 inch)

This section is reserved boat owner's modifications, improvements, etc. Here you might find (or contribute with) inspiration for your boat.

Do you have changes/improvements you would like to share? Upload a photo and describe what you have done.

We are always looking for new photos. If you can contribute with photos for Halcyon 27 it would be a great help.

A really great company to deal with

A really great company to deal with, personable, totally professional and great with communicating with you on all aspects of yacht delivery. It is crystal clear my skipper, Mark and crew Susan , both with top mariner qualifications were devoted sailors but also fantastic company. I could not have done without their encouragement and professionalism as I suffered seasickness on passage in the Irish Sea and they boosted morale and made the passage seem much easier. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Pleased to recommend Halcyon Yachts

Having had Halcyon Yachts recommended to us by a friend who had used their services we engaged Halcyon Yachts to deliver our recently purchased Beneteau 331 from Bangor Marina in Northern Ireland to Falmouth Marina in Cornwall – the trip needing to be made during February. We were very impressed with the helpful friendly service from initial contact with the office team to meeting the delivery crew upon arrival in Cornwall. By chance the Skipper selected was based not far from where we live, and we took the opportunity to meet with him prior to the voyage. Prior to the start of the voyage the Skipper made excellent decisions to find and take best advantage of a small weather window in the weather forecast. His decisions proved to be spot on. We are happy to recommend Halcyon Yachts because of their attention to detail and the fact that everything operated and worked as it should when they left Northern Ireland and everything operated and worked as it should upon handover in Cornwall.

Excellent and experienced deliveries.

I have worked with Halcyon as a freelance skipper on a number of deliveries and have always found them to be highly professional and really straightforward to deal with. The vast majority of owners have been given a fantastic service, providing feedback accordingly. Highly recommend!

Perfect, safe, efficient and highly enjoyable delivery Poole-Largs Oct 21

We used Halcyon to relocate our 36ft yacht from Poole to Largs, a trip of about 500nm, in October 2021; whilst we are experienced at sailing the waters of the Channel, our night time experience and long passage experience is limited, and it was appropriate to seek more experienced assistance for this passage in October weather. Halcyon were brilliant to deal with from first contact to after safe arrival. Skipper David was highly experienced, with safety first and foremost, content to plan on seeking shelter from adverse weather and content to press on when reasonable to do so. The boat arrived much cleaner than she departed too! David and Brian were a real pleasure to sail with, great company and totally competent. We would not hesitate to recommend Halycon to anyone needing assistance to relocate a vessel, for any distance.

Boat repatriation

Following an incapacitating accident which prohibited sailing our boat home from La Trinite-sur-Mer to Falmouth, Halcyon were recommended to us as a delivery company. Notwithstanding the unfortunate circumstances, the entire process with Halcyon was excellent from the first quote to the final handover. Their professionalism and responsiveness gave us a feeling of great confidence. Of course, a lot of the success of such a delivery comes down to the crew. The skipper, Justin, was outstanding. Not only was he a highly experienced and top-quality sailor but his communications skills were second to none. It is hard to imagine that anything could have gone better and we would highly recommend Halcyon.

halcyon yachts reviews

3 comments :

Hi David This is an interesting post. I admire that you are sticking to your guns. One has a boat for a long time so you might as well hold out and get something that will suit all your requirements. There are such a range of boats around at reasonable prices these days that it would be easy to rush in and make a big mistake. It’s a number s game and the longer you look the better your chance of coming up with something that is a good fit. Also if you were to plump for one design that would be bad news for your readers as your search aspect would be over. One thing thatI’m coming around to though its not ideal by any means is the concept of sharing. When I was sailing from Swansea to Appledore, and Lundy, it struck me just how few other boats were out sailing in near perfect conditions. Perhaps people just don’t have the time to use their boats, in which case sharing would make sense (that would not be the case for a retired person though). Im not sure how you would find like minded people to share a boat, there must be websites that deal with this sort of thing. Regards Michael

No boat is perfect. Off hand, the only coastal cruising boat designs I can think of with a 2' or less draft would be catamarans. Hirondelle, Wharram Tiki 21-26 or Woods Strider

Thanks and I have a super proposal: How Much Renovate House house to renovate

All comments are welcome, advice is particularly sought, please try to stay on subject ( within reason)

Superb Service

From initial enquiry to tying up at 0100 in Falmouth, Halcyon Yachts handled every aspect of the delivery of our LM 26 from Port Solent superbly, and were professional, organised, helpful and friendly at all times. We were kept updated with progress, including photos & videos, throughout the albeit relatively short passage. Halcyon certainly lived up to their reputation and we would highly recommend them. Thanks to skipper Tristan and first mate Bob who provided a useful handover (fortunately not at 0100!) and looked after our yacht superbly - we would not have known they had been aboard!

Largs to Portsmouth

My partner and I are experienced sailors, but now in our 70s. So when we had to move our newly acquired boat, a Vancouver 34, from Largs to its new home port in Portsmouth we made a seamanlike decision and approached Halcyon for the added assurance and help of a pro skipper. They supplied us with Anthony. Our passage plan was dominated by the weather and currents associated with Irish Sea and Lands End, and also the requirement that there would be only two watch keepers - Anthony and I - if we did any sections over 12hrs. In the event, we did one non-stop 3 day sail from Bangor NI to Falmouth, and over 12 days we managed to keep the other legs down to a max of 12 hrs. We were absolutely delighted to have Anthony's assistance. He was the epitome of professionalism. He had a “can do” attitude - so nothing was too much trouble, whether it was contorting into the engine compartment to complete daily checks, or unravelling newly installed reefing lines at the mast. Given that we are a sailing couple, and if we were in port, he was discrete and managed to absent himself to give us time on our own. Although I have sailed thousands of miles it was a particular pleasure to sail with an actual expert. So I had the added value of being able to confer with, and learn from Anthony over passage planning, sailing decisions, and the growing list of "jobs to-do" to refurbish our boat. It was a pleasure to sail with Anthony and to achieve our goals for this stage of our journey with our new boat. 🏆

Mark and Pete's assistance in delivering my Nauticat motor sailer to its new home has been absolutely invaluable. They also gave my partner and me much appreciated advice on sailing technique, helped me test every system on an unfamiliar boat, were flexible enough to include sightseeing stops (see photo for Padstow stop) and were great company throughout. Very glad I chose Halcyon!

Many thanks John. A pleasure to be of service!

The Halcyon Effect

William joined us as crew to cross the Celtic Sea, Penzance to Kinsale. The weather has been unpredictable and we wanted a third crew member. He was perfect. Friendly, helpful, skilled and crucially relieved me from an 8 hour watch bang on time. 0200 relief is a big one after a long watch. Even though roly and uncomfortable he did his stint below on food prep. Admin wise, Peter and the team were great efficient and reacted quickly when we decided on additional crew.

S/Y Whimbrel Palma / Norway Sweden / Palma 2022

My boat called Whimbrel , it is a 62 foot Chuck Paine designed aluminum sailing sloop based in Palma . This year -2022 -i planned at least two months cruising in South Norway and the East Coast of Sweden with family and friends . Due to work pressures i could not do the positioning of the boat in either direction . Halcyon however provided the solution . This was carried out in both directions with little fuss and appropriate care and attention . I would be happy to recommend Halcyon to any owner . Regards Paul Over , Owner .

Owner assist to Canaries

Glenn came on board as an “owner assist” skipper in our first proper offshore from UK to the Canaries. In every aspect he excelled – not just in keeping us safe but taking every opportunity to teach us, help us fix what went wrong, and generally just making us feel like we had another of our mates on board (albeit one with much more experience!). We cannot recommend enough – thank you!

We needed an additional crew member for a boat delivery

We needed additional crew for a last minute change of circumstances during a powerboat delivery. Following a telephone call in the morning, Halcyon Yachts had an experienced crew member arrive at the boat, within hours, enabling us to set off same day without delay. The whole process was absolutely seamless from start to finish. Richard and Pete were great to work with. The qualified crew member (Joseph) was extremely professional, a pleasure to have on board, his experience was vast, and his assistance highly valued for a trip over 4 days. I would not hesitate to recommend the team at Halcyon Yachts to anyone looking for crew members or skippers, and I would certainly use their services again.

Yacht delivery from Madeira to Dover

We used Halcyon Yachts who provided a skipper with two crew members to deliver our yacht from Madeira to Dover. The company was very helpful and arranged the delivery in a short period of time which enabled the boat to be brought back before too much uncertainty with the weather crossing Biscay. The skipper kept us informed of his progress and even sent some photos and short video clips. The whole delivery experience was very professional and we felt confident that our yacht was in safe hands. If the need arose, we would certainly use Halcyon Yachts again.

Pete and his team were super efficient

Pete and his team were super efficient. Everyone wants their boat delivered, "yesterday". But their advice and patience, waiting for the correct weather window was the right call. They were proactive on all aspects and it was great to get the regular feedback on the actual location of the boat during this 4 day delivery trip. Thank you. Mike - Dehler 42

Contessa 32 from Lymington (UK) to Hellevoetsluis (NL) and back

As a newbie sailor I needed professional help to get my Contessa 32 from Lymington (UK) to Hellevoetsluis (NL) and back. Halcyon did a fantastic job in helping with this trip. I was able to join as 3rd crew member and thanks to Halcyon's professional skipper Tim we enjoyed a safe sail to The Netherlands in december 2023 and back to the UK in march 2024. Skipper Tim was a great help for me to get to know the boat better and provided lots of useful navigational knowledge during the passage. I highly recommend Halcyon for your deliveries.

Trip from Marmaris to Northern Spain on a Dufour 56

Halcyon provided me with a Yachtmaster instructor to help us on a trip from Marmaris to Northern Spain. They made the whole process very simple to set up and delivered exactly what they had said they would. We had some challenges on the trip and Dave Preston, the skipper they provided, was excellent. His experience and practical skills shone through and provided the confidence and advice that we had wanted. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Halcyon.

Best sailing experiences of my crewing career!

Crewing for Halcyon Yachts were my best sailing experiences. I took part in the Delivery Skipper Development Program in 2020 and logged over 3,000 nautical miles on a variety of different boats across Europe. Pete and Minka went above and beyond to make sure I got the mix of sailing I was looking for to bolster my experience after completing my Day Skipper course. I joined expert ocean skippers to deliver boats such as Moodys, Beneteaus, brand new Lagoons and even a Hallberg Rassy. I crossed the Bay of Biscay twice, the Irish sea and of course the English Channel plenty of times too! For anyone considering crewing for Halcyon - I couldn't recommend it highly enough. When I'm lucky enough to have my own yacht, I also know where I'll be coming to get assistance moving it :) Thanks Pete and team!
