The vessel’s generous 1,200 GT interior is as equally stylish. Each deck follows a different theme—water, earth, or air—and can be accessed by an elegant staircase or glass elevator. The living quarters are focused on family and togetherness yet the open-plan layout ensures a sense of spaciousness. The interior also showcases exquisite cabinetwork by the yard itself. (Heesen is one of the few shipyards in the world to have its own cabinet-making company.)
The lower deck is home to a 700-square-foot, Japanese-inspired wellness area with an elliptical whirlpool, a steam room, a sauna, a gym, and a beauty area. As you may have guessed, this deck is an ode to water.
Upstairs, the main deck centers around an earth-themed salon with a striking oak coffee table and a dining area with chairs that have been upholstered in real palm leaves. Four guest suites are also located on this deck. A movable partition separates the forward suites to create a full-beam VIP or a large playroom for younger family members if so desired.
The private upper deck is dedicated to two separate owner’s suites. The decor reflects the lightness of air with soft fabrics, sky blues, mother-of-pearl inlays, and a patterned Tai Ping carpet.
Outside, the main deck aft features an open-air beach terrace, an inviting 21-foot infinity pool, and a swim platform that offers direct access to the water. The foredeck is outfitted with another lounge, while the flybridge has its own Jacuzzi. All exterior decks are dotted with furniture designed by Winch and built by Siebensee and Leerdam.

The 67m superyacht SPARTA was launched at Heesen Yachts on the 9th of June, representing the largest steel motor yacht by the Dutch shipyard to date. Smooth launching was ensured thanks to very low hull supports built by the yard.

SPARTA is based on Project Avanti, presented at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show and designed by Winch Design with only minor changes made to the original design, such as the swimming pool. She has a beautiful sporty profile, and elegant looks, offering great comfort on board. She was designed to provide plenty of spaces for socialising and family life.

One of the central areas for socialising is the main deck aft, boasting a full-beam main saloon that connects to the low, open-air beach club with a transformer passerelle platform and a 6.5m infinity pool. Custom-designed furniture by Winch Design and crafted by Siebensee and Leerdam offers great comfort to all on board.

The yacht is equipped with a custom limo tender, which is a smaller version of the mothership and is being stored behind the gullwing doors of the forward garage – the same place where the great selection of water toys is stored.
The accommodation includes two spacious owner suites on a private deck and four guest suites on the main deck. A flexible partition divides the two forward suites and when moved, it creates one large full-beam VIP suite or a large playroom for children and younger guests. For further commodity, there is a glass elevator that connects all three deck levels.
A wellness area is present on the lower deck spanning 65 square metres with a Japanese-inspired design, boasting an elliptical whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym and a beauty area.
Motor yacht SPARTA is currently undergoing the final stages of construction before embarking on sea trials in the North Sea.

67-meter Heesen yacht SPARTA hits the water

Previously known as YN 20067, the 67m (217ft) superyacht SPARTA hit the water last week from Heesen ’s facilities in the Netherlands, marking the Dutch yard’s largest steel motor yacht to date.
Showcasing “athletic” lines with a unique low profile and reverse stern, courtesy of London-based studio Winch Design, the 1,200 GT motor yacht is based on Heesen's Project Avanti concept first showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018, which captured the owners' imagination.
Her hull is particularly striking, sporting an ice-white livery with metallic Venetian red and anthracite gray boot stripes, as well as a bold sweep of tinted glass from bow to stern. On board, she’s equally impressive, offering a 6.5-meter infinity pool, open-air beach terrace and a 65 sqm Japanese-inspired wellness area, featuring an elliptical whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym and beauty area.
Harnessing the finest materials and finishes, her decks have been individually themed around different elements; water, earth and air, with a stunning oak staircase in a series of staggered panels connecting each level.
She also comes equipped with a matching Tenderworks custom limo tender in the exact image of her mothership.
She represents Heesen’s largest superyacht build so far, taking over 65-meter charter yacht ILLUSION . SPARTA will now undergo the final commissioning phases in the harbor, before heading to the North Sea for intensive sea trials.

First presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018 as Project Avanti, this new design captured the attention of the Client who fell in love with its dynamic architecture. Set for delivery in 2023, this is the third sale by Heesen in 2019. With no less than 13 yachts currently under construction, Heesen confirms its leading role in the superyacht industry. The elegant sheer line of Project Sparta connects a strong bow to an inviting transom, characterised by a stepped aft deck area with a five-metre infinity pool. Indoor and outdoor spaces connect harmoniously and create the perfect haven for family life and relaxation. By incorporating a raised pilothouse, Winch Design has conceived a new-look sporty profile and paved the way for the next generation of Heesen yachts. With a top speed of 16 knots and an innovative FDHF devised by Van Oossanen, Project Sparta is not only beautiful, but extremely efficient, too. The Owner, an experienced charterer and yacht connoisseur, has appointed Arcon Yachts as project manager. An outstanding interior volume maximises every corner of the 1,200 GT. The layout is characterised by a full beam salon on the main deck. This feature, unique on a vessel of this size, makes Project Sparta a true pocket mega-yacht. The indoor dining area seamlessly connects to the aft deck terrace, which is protected on both sides for optimal comfort, and allows for a smooth transition, both at anchor and when underway. Four guest suites are located forward on the main deck. Thanks to a sliding partition, the two forward cabins transform into a luxurious full beam VIP. An off-centre spiral staircase with glass elevator services all three decks. The lower deck houses a luxurious walk-in wellness area with oval Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gymnasium, as well as the crew quarters and galley. The Owner has reserved the entire bridge deck for himself. Two suites are located one forward with its private outdoor lounge area located fore, and the other facing aft with access to the private terrace with outdoor dining and lounging. The focal attention on the sundeck is the Jacuzzi surrounded by a bar and large sun pads. Fifteen crew and a nanny will discreetly service the guests thanks to a carefully designed flow of movement. Provisioning is made simple thanks to a shell door located on port side, and tenders and toys are conveniently stored in the forward garage with gull wing doors. Project Sophia: a deep dive into Heesen's 50-metre fast cruising yachtWith the hull and superstructure now joined on Heesen’s Project Sophia, BOAT takes a closer look inside the construction shed. Project Sophia is yet another example of Heesen’s ability to build highly sought-after yachts on speculation and represents an opportunity to own a brand-new, Dutch-quality yacht with a shortened delivery time. With the semi-displacement hull and superstructure joined by skilled craftsmen at the shipyard’s facility in Oss, Project Sophia has reached a significant milestone in the build process. The 50-metre fast cruising yacht will be the fourth sistership in this class, following Aquamarine , Book Ends and the just-delivered ALP . Bold and curvaceousProject Sophia boasts a curvy, sporty exterior designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects . The downward-pointing bow not only accentuates her elongated profile but also enhances functionality by providing an excellent line of sight from the bridge and offering guests expansive views of their surroundings. The exterior is further customisable with bespoke colour options. Italian designer Cristiano Gatto extended this curvaceous theme into the yacht’s interiors, ensuring that the fluid shapes are mirrored throughout. Circular dining tables adorn the main saloon and bridge deck aft, while a round whirlpool takes centre stage on the sundeck. Curved furniture, bars, coffee tables and artwork are placed throughout, enhancing the overall aesthetic. Notably, the skylounge, first tested on the 50-metre Rocket , features a modular design with a curved sofa, perfect for creating intimate settings for family and friends. Through his new venture ONDE ATELIER, Gatto created bespoke loose furniture with materials specifically chosen to endure the elements. A standout feature in the main saloon’s dining area is the “china room”, an area where owners can securely store table sets for exotic dining experiences. Style and functionalityProject Sophia is a mix of aesthetics, practicality and functionality, ensuring that every design element serves a purpose. The elevated main deck aft features expansive sunpads, a subtle design choice that allows for a full-height, multi-purpose tender garage and beach club on the lower deck. This area is equipped with a large fold-down transom and ample headroom, enhancing both usability and comfort. The yacht will accommodate up to 12 guests across five staterooms. The master suite, located on the main deck forward, spans the full nine-metre beam, while the lower deck houses two double and two twin guest cabins, and quarters for a crew of nine. Gatto has gone for a "modern design without being cold” that showcases “a blend of sophistication, functionality and aesthetic appeal”. To add a personal touch, the interior is available in two additional colour schemes. Guests have ample space to unwind, with the beach club providing an ideal spot to relax by the water, swim or enjoy the array of water toys on board. The main deck aft offers a tranquil area for relaxation after a day of activities, while al fresco dining can be enjoyed on the bridge deck aft or the spacious sundeck. The sundeck itself is divided into various zones, including sofas, a bar, a dining table and a Jacuzzi surrounded by sunpads. The foredeck features a secluded spot with sofas, perfect for enjoying an intimate morning coffee, an evening cocktail or a moment of solitary reflection. Fast and efficientProject Sophia exemplifies Heesen's expertise in building fast, fuel-efficient aluminium yachts. The sub-500GT vessel features a hard-chine shallow draught hull designed by the shipyard’s in-house naval architects, making her both swift and economical to operate. With a draught of just 2.1 metres, achieved through a recessed propeller tunnel, Project Sophia is perfectly suited for cruising in the shallow waters of the Bahamas. Her underwater body design enhances fuel efficiency by 12 per cent compared to traditional hulls, making her ideal for both island hopping and longer voyages. Powered by twin MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines (IMO Tier III-compliant), Project Sophia can reach a top speed of 23 knots. Additionally, she boasts a transatlantic range of 3,100 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots. For ultimate comfort, both while cruising and at anchor, Project Sophia is equipped with zero-speed stabilisers, ensuring a smooth and stable experience in all conditions.
