Had my son’s rehearsal dinner here last week. Kaitlyn was such a help putting the event together. Had a clam bake for 75 guests. Everyone raved about the beautiful space and delicious food.

Our meeting was mid-week, early October. I could not have asked for a better Sales Team to work with. It was as if the Montauk Yacht Club's employees anticipated my needs. Property is beautiful, food was delicious and the meeting room was prestine. Also, both of our meeting rooms had natural light and wonderful view of Lake Montauk. My boss was so pleased I already booked for next October! This time we are actually staying the weekend as well as the Sales Department has planned a mini fishing tournament and a wine dinner for my group.

Romantic and Rainy Montauk Yacht Club Wedding

One great choice that Caitlin made was to have her hair and makeup team stay until the ceremony ended. She was able to get hair and makeup touch-ups throughout the day as we photographed portraits on the rainy beach. Though there were both indoor and outdoor spaces for the ceremony and wedding reception , these two leaned in and had the best time in the poor weather.

Wedding Celebration at the former Gurney’s Star Island Resort

Located on the edge of East Hampton, this resort marina on Long Island is a great spot to have your special day. Their event space is versatile and clearly can accommodate weddings both inside and outside. Although these two couldn’t tie the knot on the beach, they had a gorgeous interior for their celebration instead.

A Late Summer Wedding at the Montauk Yacht Club

Welcome to my journal where I’ll share stunning weddings of even more beautiful couples, endless travel adventures and sweet anecdotes about living with the love of my life. Pour yourself a glass of Prosecco and stay awhile. 

Hi, I'm francesca.

In my eyes, Montauk always holds an air of magic. Its dramatic bluffs and billowing waves paired with miles of nature preserves and lush green trails makes you feel as though you’ve stepped out of New York, just for a minute. There have been many occasions where I’ll look out over the water and even find whales jumping in the distance. All of this, combined with the presence of exclusive yachts, vast sailboats and private mansions gives it an alluring appeal. Montauk is a beautiful anomaly of something that is both high end, yet playful. It is chic, yet welcoming. It is aspirational, yet full of warmth. Much like the wedding of Bianca and Mike at the Montauk Yacht Club last summer. 

Bianca and Mike wed on an iconically windy day on the shores of the Montauk Yacht Club, on a weekend that called for hurricanes and rain. Fortunately for us, we caught the tail ends of wind, a few overcast moments that led into a beautiful sun-filled ceremony on the lawn and the most beautiful sunset over the water. 

Bianca began her wedding day preparations with the help of LI Bridal Attendant, Jennifer,  in the Bridal Suite at the Montauk Yacht Club that overlooked the quaint stone patio below. She and her girls, all dressed in white, were the epitome of vibrance and joy as they finished getting ready. As Montauk MakeUp put the final touches on the girls’ hair and makeup, champagne was popped and the celebration truly began! Bianca wore an alluring Alena Leena Bridal gown with billowed sleeves and a fitted corset bodice. Her gown dropped jaws as she strode through the Montauk Yacht Club as it set the scene for a beautiful waterfront wedding. The billowed sleeves and the draped skirt hung gracefully and she was a true vision! 

Mike began his pre-wedding preparations in an adjoining Groom’s Suite that included its very own outdoor deck. As the dark clouds of the morning cleared, it became the perfect space for Mike and his groomsmen to put the finishing touches on their suits, share a drink together and begin the celebrations! Bianca and Mike chose a soft color scheme that allowed their love and nature’s beauty to seamlessly connect on their day. With the bridesmaids in white, and the groomsmen in a deep blue, the color scheme complimented the day beautifully. 

For their First Look, Bianca and Mike shared this sweet and intimate moment with their son, Shane. All eyes were on them as they exchanged private vows that brought us all to tears. Even with a threat of an impending hurricane on the forecast, these two were the picture of calm and supported each other the entire day through. As long as they were together, nothing else seemed to matter and with the help of the darling Dana of Just Call Dana , their outdoor ceremony went off without a hitch! 

Their ceremony was one of my favorites to capture this year as the soft golden light started to peek through the clouds. Family and friends gathered on the lawn of the Montauk Yacht Club, awaited by attentive servers and champagne in hand. Ornately designed by Flowers by Beth , the ceremony space was filled with lush floral displays. Bianca selected feminine and delicate flowers like white ranunculus and Queen Anne’s lace to adorn the wedding florals and it made all the difference.

My favorite part of the entire ceremony was after these two exchanged “I Do’s,” sealed their marriage with a kiss, and strode off down the aisle. Only to be followed by their sweet son chasing them down moments later. All throughout the day, from getting ready, to the ceremony, and into the reception + toasts, you could sense that family was most important to Bianca and Mike. Each moment felt designed to bring their families closer together in an unbreakable bond. It was a true honor to simply be in their presence, capturing the pure love that was already there. 

Following the ceremony, we were able to embrace a golden sunset that draped over the Montauk Yacht Club and I just adore how their portraits came together. Newly married, filled with excitement and awe for each other, Bianca and Mike were such a joy to photograph. Soon after, these two joined the cocktail hour while our team captured the stunning and unique reception display. The party really kicked off as the sun began to dip below the horizon, and the music turned up a notch! Bianca changed into an altered version of her mom’s wedding dress, and her bridesmaids changed into hot pink dresses halfway through the party and I simply loved the energy it brought into the reception!

Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club & Marina

One of our favorite Montauk wedding venues, this nautical-chic yacht club can accommodate weddings, large and small. With a capacity of up to 1,000 guests, Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club & Marina offers numerous spaces for your big day. There’s the romantic Ravello Ballroom, complete with water views, hardwood floors, and an outdoor terrace. Outdoor spaces include the Great Lawn (ideal for a tented event), several courtyards, and even a fire pit for your after-party . Catering is included with your wedding package, and the food wins raves. This venue can also host rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, and other pre- and post-wedding events.

The Montauk Beach House

Looking to host your wedding right in the heart of downtown Montauk? This is one of the few Montauk wedding venues that’s actually in downtown, located just a block from the Atlantic Ocean. The boutique hotel has that relaxed, beach vibe that Montauk is known for, complete with 33 guest rooms where you and your loved ones can spend your wedding weekend. The lawn is an ideal spot for rehearsal dinners and weddings, as is the on-site Bar & Grill. For weddings, the Montauk Beach House can accommodate more intimate events of up to 100 guests.

Swallow East Montauk

We love the rustic vibe of this waterside restaurant, located on peaceful and scenic Lake Montauk. You’ll adore the space itself, made of deconstructed barn wood, as well as the small-plate-style menu, made in the open kitchen. There’s indoor and outdoor space for up to 200 guests, and it’s a popular rehearsal dinner spot as well. Aside from the delicious catering, you can add on a variety of special treats to your wedding, from a custom martini bar to a dessert takeover from the beloved Dylan’s Candy Bar.

Wavecrest Resort

This oceanfront hotel can host weddings and private events for up to 150 guests, and it’s also a lovely (and affordable!) place for your guests to stay whether you’re hosting your wedding at the resort or elsewhere. A Legacy of Luxury and Adventure

For more than nine decades, Montauk Yacht Club has been an integral fixture on Star Island, harkening back to 1928 when entrepreneurial urban developer Carl Fisher first opened the property as a private social club on the North Shore of Long Island. Welcoming the New York elite to the East End, the Yacht Club’s inaugural membership included names like Vincent Astor, J.P. Morgan, Edsel Ford, and Harold S. Vanderbilt, and guests like famed aviator Charles Lindbergh, who often flew his seaplane into the harbor to dock at the marina.  In 2022, the property was acquired by Safe Harbor Marinas with the vision of bringing new life into the storied Yacht Club, initiating a new chapter for the historic property. In 2024, Proper Hospitality took leadership over management & operations, introducing its award-winning take on luxury lifestyle hospitality to the Hamptons.
