What types of motor yachts can I rent in the French Riviera?

As one of the world’s foremost superyacht destinations, there is a superb selection of luxury crewed yachts for charter. Some of the most popular types of motor yachts include:

Superyachts

For those wishing to make the ultimate style status, a superyacht is the most exclusive way to cruise the French Riviera’s coastline. Moran Yacht & Ship specializes in arranging luxury yacht charters aboard the world’s most spectacular motor yachts. We have access to the best superyachts and mega yachts for charter. Contact our team today.

Expedition vessels

Expedition vessels are a popular choice for those seeking an enhanced selection of tenders, water toys, and helicopter facilities.

Multi-hull motor yacht

Multi-hull motor yachts, including catamarans, are an excellent choice for those seeking exceptional volume. The wide beam of a multi-hull vessel means that guests often benefit from oversized salons. Catamarans also often boast a shallower draft, meaning they can often access small marinas and coves. Many also boast trampolines at the front – a great spot for soaking up the sun!

Full displacement motor boats

Full displacement motor boats are great for leisurely cruising along the Cote d’Azur. These yachts often boast enhanced comfort levels due to their hulls that are designed to cut through the waves.

Planing sports yacht

Planing sports yachts are excellent for those who want to experience the thrill of cruising at high speed along the French Riviera coastline! Beat the traffic and travel in style from one exclusive destination to the next. Great for those who really want to maximize the number of ports of call in one itinerary.

When is the best time to enjoy a luxury yacht charter in the French Riviera?

The best time to enjoy a French Riviera yacht charter is during the summer months, which is the peak superyacht season in the Mediterranean. During the summer season, you can expect sun-drenched days, balmy temperatures, and warm seas, ideal for making the most of your private yacht’s many tenders and water toys. The shoulder season, spring and fall, are also wonderful cruising times, and a key benefit is fewer crowds.

Average air temperatures are:

Spring (March to May):

Daytime temperatures: 15 to 20 degrees Celsius (59 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit)

Nighttime temperatures: 10 to 15 degrees Celsius (50 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit)

Summer (June to August):

Daytime temperatures: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius (77 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit)

Nighttime temperatures: 18 to 23 degrees Celsius (64 to 73 degrees Fahrenheit)

Fall (September to November):

Daytime temperatures: 20 to 25 degrees Celsius (68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit)

Nighttime temperatures: 15 to 20 degrees Celsius (59 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit)

Winter (December to February):

Daytime temperatures: 10 to 15 degrees Celsius (50 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit)

Nighttime temperatures: 5 to 10 degrees Celsius (41 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit)

How much does it cost to rent a yacht on the French Riviera?

The cost of a crewed yacht charter on the French Riviera will depend largely on the size of the charter vessel, your cruising itinerary, and the time of year. Expect to pay a minimum of US$200,000 for a week aboard a luxury crewed motor yacht and in excess of 1 million for the world’s finest superyachts on the French Riviera. During the summer season, charter rates are at their highest, with more competitive rates during the spring, fall, and winter. If you are flexible on dates, it is also possible to secure highly competitive last-minute bookings. If you want to book a luxury yacht charter on the French Riviera, the charter brokers at Moran Yacht & Ship are standing by to assist you. Contact our team today.

What is the APA?

The APA, or Advanced Provisioning Allowance, is an additional fee paid on top of the base charter fee. The APA covers non-fixed costs, such as food, drink, fuel, and berthing costs. The APA is paid in advance of your yacht charter, and any remaining amounts are returned to you at the end of your charter. Your luxury yacht broker will estimate the cost of the APA in advance, and you will be provided with a breakdown of all expenses at the end of your charter.

What amenities can I expect on my private yacht charter?

Every yacht is unique, so amenities do vary from vessel to vessel. However, typical amenities on crewed luxury motor yachts in the French Riviera include:

  • Spacious salons – great for larger groups wanting plenty of space to entertain or even host a yacht party.
  • Movie theaters – popular with all; enjoy your favorite film with popcorn and treats prepared by the yacht’s crew.
  • Hot tubs – typically located on the aft or fore deck and the central hub of many yachts! Relax and rejuvenate with a handcrafted cocktail expertly created by your yacht’s crew.
  • Swimming pools  – many yachts include a heated pool, some with counter-flow currents, a great amenity for kids and fitness enthusiasts.
  • Fitness equipment  – expect state-of-the-art equipment, such as treadmills, bikes, elliptical machines, weights, and more. Larger yachts may also include a personal trainer to help you maintain your fitness regimen.
  • Spa treatment rooms – pamper yourself with restorative treatments tailored just for you. Many yachts include a sauna, steam room, and hammam, offering the ultimate wellness experience.
  • Beach clubs  – a superb destination for leisurely days on the water. Located aft, beach clubs will boast sun loungers, often a bar, and easy access to the water.
  • Tenders and water toys – these often include jet skis, Seabobs, kayaks, snorkeling gear, stand-up paddle boards, and inflatables, guaranteeing fun on the water.

Larger superyachts may also feature:

  • Touch-and-go helicopter facilities or landing pads providing seamless access to your yacht and the utmost convenience and privacy.
  • Diving centers, including trained scuba divers can take you to the best coral reefs and wrecks.
  • Additional cabins for your own personal staff, including personal assistants, nannies, and security.

No matter what amenities you desire aboard your luxury charter yacht, Moran Yacht & Ship can connect you with your ideal vessel. If you want to enjoy a French Riviera yacht charter aboard the world’s finest luxury yachts, contact our team today.

How many guests can I take on my French Riviera yacht charter?

Most charter yachts can take a maximum of 12 guests – even if cabin numbers enable a larger number of guests. This is due to maritime law and additional regulations that are required for a luxury yacht to carry more than 12 guests. However, there are some charter yachts that can accommodate more than 12 guests.

How many crew members will my French Riviera yacht rental have?

The number of crew members on your French Riviera yacht rental will be primarily determined by the vessel size, with large yachts having more crew than smaller-sized yachts. At the very least, you can expect a crew to include a captain along with several deckhands and stews/stewardesses.

What currency should I take?

France’s official currency is the Euro. Credit and debit cards are also widely accepted.

What's the best airport to fly into for a French Riviera superyacht charter?

The primary airport along the French Riviera is the Nice Cote d’Azur airport, which has commercial flights to multiple international destinations as well as a dedicated private jet terminal.

Other airports include:

  • Marseille Provence Airport
  • Aéroport du Golfe de Saint-Tropez (private flights only)
  • Cannes Mandelieu Airport (private flights only)
  • Toulon–Hyères Airport
  • Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport

When you charter a luxury yacht with Moran Yacht & Ship, your charter broker will advise on the best airport to fly into and provide assistance in arranging transportation to and from your yacht.

The yacht’s crew will be waiting for you on the aft deck with glasses of champagne to welcome you aboard your home away from home. Before departing for your first destination, Cannes , the yacht’s Captain will provide a brief safety briefing and explain some important yachting “do’s and don’ts.” Meanwhile, you can take some time to explore your new surroundings and enjoy the stunning south of France scenery from the jacuzzi while the crew prepares the yacht. Once the yacht has dropped anchor opposite the famous Carlton Hotel, a delicious lunch will be served on the aft deck.

Azimut 80 Yacht bow off Cannes

After lunch, you can visit the Iles de Lerins , a small group of islands off the coast of Cannes. The islands feature Sainte-Marguerite, home to the Fort Royal where the Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned, and Saint-Honorat, which has a beautiful monastery where you can purchase some of the fabulous items produced by these stylish monks, including wines, liqueurs, and excellent honey. If you’re interested in high-end shopping, Cannes is the perfect destination for you. All the big luxury names like Prada, Gucci, Hermes, Chanel, and Christian Dior can be found there. For those looking for a more relaxed afternoon, you can enjoy swimming or indulge in an onboard massage. As the sun sets, it’s time to get dressed up for a glamorous night out in Cannes! Bespoke Yacht Charter recommends the 2-star Michelin Palme d’Or at the Martinez hotel on the Croisette for the ultimate dining experience. After dinner, you can dance the night away at one of Cannes’ many nightspots, like the Bâoli club in Port Canto.

Cannes to St Tropez

Hopefully the heads are not too sore this morning! A lavish buffet breakfast will be laid out on the yacht’s sun deck when you wake. After breakfast, time for a quick swim before departing for your next destination, the infamous St Tropez . Cruising past the beautiful red rocks of the Esterel, the Captain will head past the town of St Tropez to what is perhaps the most famous stretch of sand anywhere in the world and certainly on the Cote d’Azur, St Tropez’s Pampelonne Beach !

Once the Captain has dropped anchor, the first thing that will become very obvious is that you are most definitely not alone. Pampelonne is one of the most popular superyacht anchorages for luxury yacht charters on the French Riviera, if not the entire world. Why are all these yachts here, you might ask? Yes the scenery is stunning, but it is in much of this part of the world. The answer lies on the shoreline and the thirty or so beach clubs that populate the 3 miles of sand that makes up Pampelonne Beach.

Pampelonne Beach - St Tropez Beach Club Guide

There’s a beach club at Pampelonne Beach to suit all tastes. Some of these beach clubs are incredibly flashy and loud, others much more modest and relaxed! We’ve decided to make reservations at the original St Tropez beach club, Club 55! Club 55 originated in 1955 when a small structure served as the onset canteen providing food to the cast and crew of “And God Created Woman” starring THE St Tropez icon, Brigitte Bardot! Over its’ sixty year history, Club 55 has become the definitive Cote d’Azur beach experience for many and is a fixture on almost every French Riviera yacht charter tinerary. Yes many of the guests are rich and famous, but the atmosphere that prevails here is one of a refined, casual discretion. Enjoy the fabulous Mediterranean cuisine of the Cote d’Azur in a chic yet relaxed environment.

As the sun begins to set, your charter yacht will head for St Tropez itself and its’ famous Old Port. If you’ve booked far enough in advance, you’ll head straight for your berth, if not then it’s highly likely that tonight your yacht will be at anchor just outside St Tropez harbour.

Not to worry, your charter yacht will have a fast and comfortable tender to ferry you ashore and back until the very early hours. Dinner could be taken on the yacht, or in town, at L’Opera perhaps.

After dinner, a visit to one of St Tropez’s incredibly hedonistic nightclubs is in order. Perhaps the VIP Room or Caves du Roy, or why not both!

St Tropez to Antibes

Time to head back east today towards the town of Antibes, the European capital of superyachts. On the way, the yacht will anchor just off the legendary  Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc , a palatial hotel on the Cap d’Antibes peninsula where all the stars stay during the Cannes Film Festival.

This hotel is considered by many to be the most luxurious hotel on the Cote d’Azur. Relax on deck and enjoy some water sports before the yacht heads into Port Vauban in Antibes . Once the yacht has docked, cars will be waiting to take you to the beautiful village of St Paul de Vence and more specifically to the restaurant La Colombe d’Or.

St Paul de Vence is a spectacular 14th century hilltop village and La Colombe d’Or is its’ true star. Eighty years ago, Paul Roux opened a modest restaurant in a 16th century village house.

Pool at Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc

Many famous artists who spent time in this part of France became regulars at the restaurant, including Chagall, Miro, Matisse, Renoir and Picasso. Often distinctly lacking in the wallet department, they settled their bills with pieces of art. Today, La Colombe d’Or boasts one of the world’s finest collections of 20th century art. It is also a great place to have lunch! A visit to the nearby Maeght Foundation is also a must for art lovers and one of the Côte d’Azur’s finest museums.

Late afternoon, head back to Antibes for a walk around the beautiful Antibes old town before returning to the yacht for drinks. Your yacht’s crew have been busy in your absence, preparing the yacht for a fantastic dinner this evening. If you’ve timed it perfectly, there will also be a spectacular fireworks display after dinner! Summer fireworks displays are a real highlight of the French Riviera yacht charter season. Bespoke Yacht Charter will provide you with a schedule of when these take place so you’ll be sure not to miss them.

Antibes to Cap Ferrat

After breakfast, the yacht will head for the magnificence of  Cap Ferrat  just east of Nice. This lush peninsula is home to some of the world’s most impressive and expensive waterfront villas! Once the anchor has been dropped, and after some swimming, you’ll have the option of lunch onboard or perhaps ashore at the highly recommended beach restaurant  Paloma Beach . In the afternoon, why not visit the spectacular  Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild , one of the most impressive and ornate properties on the French Riviera.

Yacht Weddings villas and yachts in Cap Ferrat

With mind-blowing views over the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, the nine amazing gardens that are open to the public are absolutely incredible. Early evening drinks will be enjoyed at the very impressive Grand Hôtel du Cap Ferrat from where you’ll then be driven to the 9th century village of Eze, perched 1,400ft above the Mediterranean sea below. Enjoy a walk through the narrow cobblestone streets before a very special dinner at the majestic Chèvre d’Or, one of the French Riviera’s finest restaurants. The night will be spent at anchor off Cap Ferrat.

Today, it’s off to  Monaco  which is just a short cruise from Cap Ferrat. But the first stop of the day will be the beach at Plage Mala on Cap d’Ail. A truly stunning bay, framed by towering cliffs, Plage Mala is one of the most secluded, lovely beaches anywhere on the Côte d’Azur. This really is a truly beautiful anchorage. Lunch ashore at either La Reserve de la Mala or Eden Plage Mala will be very enjoyable. This is also a great place to enjoy the toys onboard, especially the standup paddle boards! The views towards Monaco and back over Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Cap Ferrat really are magnificent, and paddling around the bay in total silence is truly the best way to appreciate the majesty of your surroundings!

Early evening and it’s time to come into port in Monaco. Monaco has two ports, each with its’own very distinct flavour. The Port de Fontvieille is laid back and relatively quiet, which appeals to those looking to relax. But as we are going for the ultimate French Riviera yacht charter experience during this week, there is only one place to be on a charter yacht in Monaco, and that’s the main port, or Port Hercule as it’s known. The Port Hercule is like an amphitheatre, framed to the west by the the old town of Monaco (the rock), to the north by scores of apartment blocks rising up to meet the mountains and to the east by the glitz and glamour of Monte-Carlo.

Everyone knows Monaco’s Port Hercule as it is of course the location of the Monaco Grand Prix, the event for which this small Principality in southern France is best known. Every year, the world’s finest drivers push themselves to the limit, racing their cars around the narrow streets of Monaco, something these machines where never designed to do and you’ll see why! As you enter Monaco, many of the famous parts of the circuit will be instantly recognisable from the deck of your yacht, Rascasse, Tabac Corner, the Swimming Pool and the Tunnel. In fact, it is highly likely that your charter yacht will actually be berthed on what is the Monaco Grand Prix circuit!

Panoramic view of charter yachts in Monaco port

Tonight is going to be all about glamour, so what better way to begin than with a glass of champagne on your charter yacht, the brightly coloured lights of Monte-Carlo sparkling all around you. It’s only a short walk or taxi ride up the hill to Casino Square, home to Monaco’s legendary Casino de Monte-Carlo. Monaco is famous for two things above all, the Monaco GP and the Monte-Carlo Casino, and it’s only fitting that your first night in Monaco takes place around this magnificent temple to gambling. As you enter Casino Square, you can’t help but admire the splendour of the architecture. To your right stands the legendary Hotel de Paris, to your left, the Cafe de Paris, and it is here that the evening really kicks off with drinks at this world famous people watching spot.

Directly in front of you, you’ll see your restaurant for dinner tonight, Bespoke Yacht Charter’s recommendation is Alain Ducasse at the Hotel de Paris (previously the Louis XV). After a spectacular dinner, how about a drink or two at legendary Monaco nightspot Jimmy’z or perhaps try the new kid on the block, Twiga owned by former F1 team boss and restaurateur, Flavio Briatore.

The next day is spent on the yacht anchored off Monaco, sunbathing, swimming and tearing around the bay on the jet skis.

Monaco is also a great place to ask the charter yacht’s crew to get all the towable toys out and have some real fun. Lunch is taken by the pool at the Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel. In the afternoon, perhaps a game of tennis at Monte-Carlo Country Club, or if that’s not your thing, why not visit Le Rocher and the Prince’s Palace or the Oceanographic Museum?

For dinner, if you don’t want to eat onboard, then try Nobu on the roof of the Fairmont Hotel. Exquisite Japanese dining with the most incredible views of Monaco, the sky and the sea!

Monaco to Portofino, Italy

Your charter yacht left Monaco shortly after you returned from dinner last night and when you wake up this morning, you’re in Portofino, Italy! Portofino is a beautiful fishing village with a twist and one of the most attractive places in this part of Italy. After breakfast, spend the morning exploring the shops in Portofino, or enjoy yourself out on the water. There are numerous beautiful walks all around Portofino. Lunch will be served onboard today, and don’t eat too much, as you have a really special dinner lined up for this evening. In the afternoon, why not take the tender and explore some of the other towns and villages around Portofino, such as Santa Margherita. As it gets dark, cars will arrive to take you for a truly memorable last dinner at the fabulous Hotel Splendido, perched high above Portofino, offering fine dining and even finer views!

Portofino to Nice or Monaco

Enjoy your last breakfast onboard your charter yacht as you cruise back to the south of France and Monaco or Nice to disembark from your French Riviera yacht charter.

Don't Miss These Hidden Gems: Yacht Charter Broker Advice

While St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, and Monaco are the major highlights of the French Riviera, there are plenty of hidden gems to explore along the way. Cote d'Azur is dotted with picturesque towns, quaint coastal villages, and secret spots perfect for exploring aboard a private yacht.

From the colourful cobblestone streets of Ville Franche sur-Mer to the pine forests and coves of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, dubbed the "billionaire peninsula", Cote d'Azur hides countless treasures to discover onboard a charter yacht:

Port Grimaud

Often called the Venice of the French Riviera, Port Grimaud boasts a maze of canals crisscrossing the city.

St Tropez-adjacent, Port Grimaud is famous for its laidback atmosphere, night-time market, and colourful architecture. A unique stop on the Côte d'Azur, Port Grimaud offers a different experience away from the tourist crowds.

Sanary-sur-Mer

A brightly coloured port town known for its mouthwatering seafood, a market voted the most beautiful in France, and sunny beaches, Sanary-sur-Mer is another escape from the hustle and bustle of the more popular French Riviera resorts.

Ideal for culinary adventures and sightseeing, Sanary serves as a tranquil little stopover during a Côte d'Azur sailing holiday.

With its laid-back beach vibe, one of the most spectacular superyacht marinas in the Mediterranean, and charismatic Old Town of narrow cobblestone streets, markets, and cafes, Antibes is one of the liveliest towns on the French Riviera.

Golden sandy beaches, the heritage of Pablo Picasso, red-roofed Mediterranean villas, excellent local cuisine and Michelin-starred restaurants make Antibes one of the most attractive ports on Cote d'Azur.

Find French Riviera Yacht Charters That Offer the Right Features

Chartering a yacht for a sailing vacation on the French Riviera is an unforgettable adventure.

However, choosing a yacht with the right features and amenities can enhance the experience: from onboard water toys, deck jacuzzis, and spa rooms to professional chefs and onboard gyms, chartering a yacht that meets your personal needs and preferences will make the sailing a truly extraordinary vacation.

Theatre Room

Even a journey to a place as captivating as the French Riviera requires some time to relax and unwind. If your chosen yacht has a cinema theatre, you'll be able to enjoy your own private film festival as the sun sets over the Mediterranean Sea.

Onboard Gym

If you and your guests love keeping fit, an onboard gym on a yacht is important to keep up with the workouts and feel refreshed and recharged.

The Mediterranean is a giant playground in the summer months, and water toys will help bring that playground to life. You might want to enjoy a peaceful time out on the water with some kayaks or paddle boards, or you may prefer to pick up the pace with a pair of jet skis.

Luxury Sleeping Quarters

When each day is done, your yacht should offer you a comfortable, private retreat to get some quality sleep and prepare for the next day. Some yachts available in the French Riviera have suites that rival those of the fanciest of hotels.

Timing Your Luxury Yacht Charter Trip - Watch the Weather

The French Riviera enjoys a long sailing season from May to October, seeing 300 days of sunshine per year.

Regardless of year-round mild weather, yachting is at its best during the summer months, especially if you prefer sunbathing, water sports, snorkelling, and beach life. On the other hand, shoulder months of early spring and late fall see fewer tourist crowds.

The Cost of a Yacht Charter Vacation

Hiring a luxury yacht charter on Cote d'Azur comes with a significant price tag: from beautiful beaches to the Cannes Film Festival and beyond, there is a lot to love about visiting the French Riviera in a yacht rental - and all of those selling points cause the prices to soar.

Just how steep the final price tag will be depends on many factors, such as the duration of your trip, the size of the boat and crew, and the features and amenities offered onboard the yacht.

While a weekly yacht rental could be had for less than €50,000, the price will more commonly be into the six figures and beyond. In fact, it's not uncommon for this type of yacht rental to exceed €1 million.

Two Types of French Riviera Yacht Charter Experiences

For most visitors to the French Riviera, securing a yacht rental is going to mean a motor yacht. This is an advanced, modern vessel that uses powerful engines to get around the sea with ease. You'll have no trouble spotting a variety of beautiful motor yachts in the waters of the French Riviera, so you'll have plenty of good company.

Sailing Yacht Rental

It's worth noting, however, that a sailing yacht is also worth your consideration. The sailing experience is a romantic one, where the journey is valued just as much as the destination. If you'd rather not be in a hurry to power from one spot to the next but take your time to see the sights and soak in the traditional Mediterranean experience instead, a sailing yacht is the way to go.

Ultimately, there is no wrong answer to this debate. Whichever way you go with your yacht rental, you'll be lined up to have a great vacation with your family or friends. With a professional crew onboard, a view of the coastline in the distance, and plenty of marinas to explore along the way, travelling the French Riviera in a yacht - whether motor or wind-powered - is something you'll remember forever.

Find a French Riviera Yacht Charter Today

Given the popularity of French Riviera charter yachts, it's important to make your reservations for the trip as soon as possible.

Whether you are interested in a sailing yacht or a motor yacht, work on reserving your private yacht charter right away so you can begin to look forward to the sandy beaches, luxury shopping, scuba diving, and countless other Côte d'Azur adventures that await.

Take a moment today to browse the options, and your dream sailing getaway will be one step closer to becoming a reality.

Alternative Mediterranean Yacht Charter Destinations

Booking a yacht rental for the French Riviera is an excellent choice - Côte d'Azur is a world-class destination offering countless awe-inspiring adventures and cultural experiences along the way. However, the Mediterranean Sea boasts several other fantastic locations to explore or add to your French Riviera vacation plans.

Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast of Italy is the only other region within the Mediterranean that can rival the French Riviera in terms of name recognition, popularity, and charm. Azure blue waters, pastel-coloured seaside towns, and delicious Italian cuisine, along with rich history and heritage dating back to Roman times, is guaranteed to take your breath away.

Balearic Islands

This group of islands off the coast of Spain might be a little overlooked by those who are chartering yachts in the Mediterranean- but it shouldn't be. Known for stunning scenery, amazing nightlife and party central of Ibiza and Mallorca, Andalusian vibes, and laidback atmosphere, the Balearic Islands are a great destination for sailing holidays.

When it comes to yachts for charter in the East Mediterranean, Greece is hands-down the most intriguing destination to explore. Sun-kissed islands, glitzy summer resorts, crystal clear waters and the wonders of Antiquity abound in Greece, making it an excellent sailing location in the summer season.

  • Ile de Porquerolles
  • Cap d’ Antibes
  • Villefranche
  • St. Jean Cap Ferrat

DAY ONE: Sunning in St. Tropez.

Your journey begins in St. Tropez, infamously beloved by the inimitable Birgitte Bardot. Explore the town’s chic boutiques, fall in love with Impressionist artwork at the Musee de l’Annonciade, satiate your sweet tooth with the signature tarte Tropézienne pastry, and top it off with the local rosé wine while you let the town’s sleepy serenity lull you into a state of relaxation.

DAY TWO: Iconic Pamplonne Beach.

An idyllic stretch of sand punctuated by high end resorts and hip nightspots in St. Tropez, this is one of the world’s most elegant beaches, complimented by views of the Maures mountains across the bay. Step off your private yacht into a swanky paradise that belongs in old Hollywood movie.

DAY THREE: Unspoiled Ille De Porquerolles.

A nearly untouched Provencal town with sandy beaches, a quaint little village, excellent wineries, and the Mon de Bonheur windmills, this stop offers a taste of the region’s traditional culture – its heart and soul – that’s worlds away from the glossy glamour of the other stops on your tour.

DAY FOUR: Cruise Into Cannes.

Best known for its iconic film festival held every May along with a number of other world famous events, this favorite destination of the global elite features five star hotels, world class bars and restaurants, upscale boutiques, and the Marché de Forville, and lush sandy beaches all surrounded by scenic views. You’ll feel like a celebrity sailing through its waters on your own personal megayacht.

DAY FIVE: Greek And Roman History In Cap d’Antibes.

Go back in time in the port city of Cap d’Antibes, founded by the Greeks and built upon by the Romans, and filled by a unique sunlight and moonlight that captured the hearts and souls of the Impressionist painters (don’t miss the Picasso museum). Crystal blue Mediterranean waters and sandy beaches are complemented by Roman aqueducts and fortified walls, providing echoes of the past while you enjoy the modern comforts of your private yacht.

DAY SIX: Escape Into Villefranche-sur-Mer.

This secluded spot on the Côte d’Azur has become popular with those who desire only the finest things in life – and the privacy in which to enjoy them. Classic Provencal cuisine, coarse sandy beaches, and remarkable architecture that includes sixteenth and seventeenth century cathedrals and the Villa La Leopolda, which was once dubbed the most expensive house in the world.

DAY SEVEN: The Gardens Of St. Jean Cap Ferrat.

Spend a day wandering the exotic gardens in this idyllic enclave, or visit the rocky beaches and lighthouse that was originally commissioned by Napoleon in 1862.

DAY EIGHT: Past And Present Mix In Monaco.

Long known as the playground of the rich and famous, especially European royalty, the royal family of Monaco still makes international headlines despite the nation’s small size. A global culture with a vibrant Medieval heart that’s steeped in tradition, the city-state combines contemporary pleasures like the Grand Casino with classic architecture, lush gardens, an old port city, and expansive views from nearly every corner of the principality – all of which you can experience like royalty yourself from the decks of your luxury yacht.

Y Experience The South Of France This Summer? Why not? We’d be delighted to help craft a voyage that defies even your wildest dreams.

French Riviera

Enjoy your yacht charter with ibiyachts, french riviera, the legendary côte d’azur.

The French Riviera, also known as the “Côte d’Azur” in French, is the Mediterranean coastline in the southeast corner of France. It was one of the first modern resort areas for aristocrats, artists, as well as wealthy Americans and Europeans. Today, it remains a home and holiday destination for the upper class, whether in Cannes, Monaco, Saint-Tropez, or Nice. Beyond the ongoing see-and-be-seen lifestyle, the French Riviera also offers a wealth of culture and, above all, delicious gastronomy to discover.

Exploring the French Riviera by Yacht

Yacht Charter French Riviera Monaco

Monaco is the second smallest country in the world, yet it teems with life and splendor. It boasts luxury and extravagance with its Old City, the Casino, Monte Carlo, and, especially, for hosting the annual Formula One race.

Monaco is a one-of-a-kind yachting destination. Visit Port Hercule, one of the few, if not the only deep-water port on the French Riviera, go cruising to Marquet Beach for a swim, or simply stay at anchor and enjoy the view of the coastline while relaxing on board your luxury charter yacht.

Yacht Charter French Riviera Nice

Nice, the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes department, lies along the pebble-lined shores of the Baie des Anges and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful travel destinations along the Côte d´Azur.

With numerous beaches, restaurants, and viewpoints like Castle Hill to discover, you have everything you need to enjoy your time ashore getting lost in the charm of the city. Every February, Nice hosts one of the biggest Carnival events worldwide, a tradition that has been kept alive since 1274.

Yacht Charter French Riviera Cannes

The city of Cannes is especially famous for its film festival and annual boat show, two important and highly popular events that attract numerous celebrities and nautical enthusiasts.

However, there are many more reasons to visit Cannes: its beautiful architecture and historical sites, lovely beaches, and charming restaurants and markets. Off the coast of Cannes, you’ll find the Lerins Islands, with two of them open to visitors: Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat. Both islands offer beautiful views of Cannes, various beaches, and fortresses to explore. With all this in mind, it is no wonder that Cannes is a popular destination in the world of recreational boating.

Yacht Charter French Riviera Saint Tropez

Saint-Tropez

Saint-Tropez exudes luxury and sophistication. The allure of its pristine beaches is just one of the reasons it makes the perfect and indulgent stop on your luxury yachting vacation along the stunning French Riviera.

Saint-Tropez is brimming with the finest beach clubs, luxury mega yachts, and high-end restaurants. A must-see is the 5-kilometer-long Pampelonne Beach with its beautiful white sand and decadent beach clubs, such as Club 55, Nikki Beach, or Verde Beach.

Cruise along the French Riviera

If you’re planning a yacht charter in France, the chances are that your itinerary will focus on the Mediterranean coast and, more specifically, the French Riviera or Côte d'Azur – that stretch of sun-kissed coastline that runs from glamorous St Tropez all the way to the Italian border, passing through no-end of chic resorts and postcard-pretty beaches on the way.

A French Riviera yacht charter is like a rite of passage for the superyacht set, who congregate in its fashionable beach clubs and bars each summer, after spending lazy days at anchor in pine-fringed coves where they can frolic in azure waters in peace.

Today the glitzy venues of the Côte d'Azur are still the playground of the super-rich and anyone arriving by superyacht will be welcomed off the passerelle and ushered into the most en-vogue hotspots.

Splash the cash in Monte Carlo or time it right and you can use your French charter yacht as a luxury base for one of the season’s big events, from the Monaco Grand Prix to Cannes Film Festival.

French Riviera

Best places to eat, drink and party in French Riviera

There’s no doubt about it, St Tropez is still the place to be seen. Try one of the chic quayside cafes or head to Club 55 or Nikki Beach along the famous Pampelonne beach for cocktails, dancing and celebrity spotting.

Cannes is one of the Côte d'Azur’s perfectly formed cities where a walk along the Boulevard de la Croisette is a must. For French gastronomy at its best – with some Asian influences for good measure – book a table on the lush terrace of L’Oasis, a Michelin-star restaurant in the Bay of Cannes.

Jimmy’z in Monaco regularly hosts some of the world’s top DJs and of course, no French Riviera charter is complete until you’re tried your luck at the roulette table at the Casino de Monte-Carlo.

French Riviera

Best things to do in French Riviera

The French Riviera is a place where you can dine, shop and spa in the utmost style. With miles of sandy beaches, protected bays and lots of secluded coves, it’s also the ideal spot to try out your yacht’s water toys.

However, away from the carefree, luxurious lifestyle, there is plenty more to keep your cultural interest.

For a nature escape, cross the Gulf of Hyères to Porquerolles, a protected island that is reassuringly quiet, with steep cliffs and secluded creeks to the south and gorgeous sandy beaches that drift into turquoise seas to the north.

First a Greek fortified town named Antipolis and later a Roman settlement, the port of Antibes has long been a hub for trading with other towns along the Mediterranean.

Today it’s an attractive and bustling place, popular with those from Paris and elsewhere in France, not to mention a fair number of expats.

Antibes is less about the glitz and glamour you’ll find elsewhere on the Riviera and more about simple charm and easy living. The beauty of Antibes lies in the flower-filled streets of the old town, the ramparts along the sea and the long, arched, protective wall along the port. There are plenty of little streets for exploring, restaurants of all types and lots of shops, from tiny local stores to tempting markets and upmarket boutiques.

Antibes

If the Riviera were a film, Cannes would surely be its leading lady. During the famous film festival, Hollywood glamour and French chic combine in a dizzy cocktail of the fabulous and the fashionable, but Cannes merits a visit all year round.

This legendary seaside resort has all the Côte d’Azur glitz you might expect: private beaches, marinas filled with luxury yachts, stylish boulevards, elegant Belle Époque hotels and fashionable restaurants, and of course the famous La Croisette, the boulevard and beach that extends around the bay to the east of the port.

Cannes

Eze is a fairy-tale medieval village perched on a narrow, rocky peak overlooking the Mediterranean. The fortified village is still crowned with the ruins of the 12th century castle that used to protect it.

The village – one of the most beautiful in France – was built in a circular pattern around the base of the castle, and the ancient, honey-coloured buildings and narrow streets with their high stone walls are perfectly preserved.

Eze

Iles de Lérins

The Iles de Lérins is a small archipelago just off the coast of Cannes. There are two main islands, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, and two smaller uninhabited islands, Tradelière and St-Ferréol. Ile Sainte Marguerite is the larger and nearer island. It’s covered in umbrella pine and eucalyptus forest, with wide paths criss-crossing the length and breadth of the island.

The port area on Sainte-Marguerite has buzzy cafés and restaurants, and it’s a short walk to the Fort Royal, where you can see the cell where the mysterious man in the iron mask was held captive for over 30 years in the 17th century.

Iles de Lérins

Monaco has long been a magnet for the world’s wealthy. Home to a plethora of couture boutiques and gourmet restaurants, world-class hotels and casinos, as well as a legendary royal family, Monaco certainly merits its reputation as a millionaires’ playground.

Linger over a cocktail by the harbour where luxury yachts jostle for space, sample the menu at any number of exquisite restaurants or enjoy a massage at one of the sumptuous spas: whatever your pleasure, this is a place to indulge your every whim.

Monaco

Inhabited for 400,000 years, today’s Nice has its roots in the settlement of Nikaia, established by the Greeks. In their time here the Romans built extensive baths at Cimiez, and they may have been responsible for kicking off the tourist trade here.

Today, Nice is a thoroughly modern place, but it retains its medieval heritage in the Vieille Ville (old town), with its narrow winding streets and densely packed red-tiled roofs.

Nice

Porquerolles

This crescent-shaped isle Porquerolles, just a 10-minute hop off the Riviera coast is sometimes known as the ‘floating forest’ and thanks to the fact no cars are allowed, it’s a haven for birds and butterflies.

Small coves separated by rugged cliffs offer excellent swimming and fine sand beaches, especially on the northern side. Porquerolles is a favourite of filmmakers, who use it as a South Sea island stand in, and for sophisticated travellers looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Porquerolles

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

The very name Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat evokes all the timeless chic and glamour of the French Riviera, and indeed, this beautiful seaside village is one of the loveliest places on the Mediterranean coast.

Nestled on a peninsula that juts into the warm waters of the eastern Mediterranean between Nice and Monaco, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is known for its luxurious houses as well as its natural beauty, with miles of eucalyptus-scented trails offering superb coastal views.

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Saint-Paul de Vence

Saint-Paul de Vence is a beautiful medieval fortified village perched on a narrow spur between two deep valleys.

Although the village itself is one of the most well-preserved medieval villages in this part of France, with much of the ramparts still intact, the main attractions here are the scores of art galleries and restaurants – in fact, virtually the whole village is an open-air gallery.

Saint-Paul de Vence

Saint-Tropez

It’s the town that needs no introduction. The ultimate Côte d’Azur destination, ‘St. Trop’ was made famous by Brigitte Bardot and the 1950s jet set, and it’s never lost its appeal with the world’s elite, from film stars to financiers.

The world-famous Caves du Roy is a perennial hot spot, although you might prefer the legendary VIP room. For a daytime party head for Nikki Beach or Club 55. Spoon Byblos is another hot address, owned by Alain Ducasse.

Saint-Tropez

Villefranche-sur-Mer

Like many of the most sought-after spots on the Côte d’Azur, beautiful Villefranche-sur-Mer was once a small fishing village. These days it’s one of the most charming and elegant resorts on the French Riviera so an essential stop off on your French Riviera yacht charter. The old town is exquisite, with pastel-coloured buildings that tumble down to the sea.

There’s no better place to admire the Bay of Villefranche, hugged by the Cap de Nice and Cap Ferrat, than from the lovely sandy beach (aside from your sun deck, of course), which shelves gently into the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean.

Villefranche-sur-Mer

The billionaire's social calendar: The must-attend events for the world's wealthiest business icons

Billionaires are predictable — and they like to stick together.

Each year they attend a standard set of parties, festivals, and conferences.

Here's where you can find a billionaire at any time of year — and how much it will cost you to join in on the fun.

There are around 2,780 billionaires in the world , according to Forbes. That's about 0.00003% of the global population.

And despite their scarcity, these billionaires are surprisingly easy to find . After all, birds of a feather — especially those of a small brood — flock their private jets together. At the start of the year, they descend en masse on Davos. In July, they fly to Sun Valley before, every four years, making their way to the summer Olympics . In December, their yachts anchor in St. Barts.

Here's where billionaires mingle, wheel and deal, and relax, and how you can join them — for a small price, of course.

January: Davos

After billionaires shake off their New Year's Eve hangovers, many make their way to Switzerland for the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos to attend lavish dinners, hit the slopes, and discuss the global problem du jour.

The official event is invite-only and costs tens of thousands per ticket. But those who want to rub shoulders with attendees — think Bill Gates, Marc Benioff, and Mark Zuckerberg — aren't completely barred from the Alpine resort.

Many of Davos' luxury hotels , like the Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère and AlpenGold, are closed to the public, so you'd be better off renting an apartment. Those don't come cheap, though. Local outlets reported that rentals went for 10-times their typical prices last year. One apartment with two double beds and a pull-out sofa cost nearly $27,500 to rent for the five nights of the conference.

And good luck finding food. With most of the restaurants booked up for conference events, you may be left paying $43 for a hot dog.

February: Super Bowl

NFL teams are among the most popular toys of the ultrarich : Walmart's Rob Walton has the Broncos, hedge fund manager David Tepper owns the Panthers, real estate tycoon Stanley Kroenke boasts the Rams, Jerry Jones controls the Cowboys, and so on.

So it's no surprise that a number of billionaires flock to the sport's biggest game every year, though Super Bowl weekend as a billionaire involves more than just wings and great commercials.

Host committees and travel agencies have curated luxury experiences for the richest football fans that cost six figures and include chartered jets, five-star accommodations, and access to the field after the game. Suites for this season's game in Las Vegas are going for up to $3 million on rental platform Suite Luxury Group .

There are also the private parties, known for their superstar performers — in some cases, ones particularly familiar with billionaires. Last year, DJ D-Sol, also known as Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, reportedly spun a set at a party attended by billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Apollo cofounder Josh Harris.

March: Hong Kong's Art Basel

Last year marked the grand reopening of Hong Kong's Art Basel after a three-year coronavirus hiatus. Wealthy Chinese carpooled together in private jets to the fair, Bloomberg reported, and spent millions adding to their collections.

In a savvy scheduling maneuver, the 2023 art fair coincided with the Wealth for Good summit. The conference, a push to get more family offices to set up in the city, counted billionaires like Yahoo cofounder Jerry Yang, Sequoia Capital China's Neil Shen, and local real estate magnate Adam Kwok as its attendees.

Artsy clocked more than a dozen seven-figure sales at the art fair, including work like George Condo's "Purple Compression" and Kazuo Shiraga's "Kisan," which sold for $4.75 million and $5 million, respectively. One of the fair's most famous sale's came in 2018, when Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen sold Willem de Kooning's "Untitled XII, 1975" for $35 million to a private collector.

April: The Masters Tournament

Forget Easter. The first signs of spring mean one thing for billionaires: golf.

Each year, the Masters Tournament kicks off the run of major professional golf championships at Augusta National. The famously exclusive club in Georgia — it didn't allow women to join until 2012 — counts a number of billionaires as members.

Pals Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, as well as Warren Stephens, David Ziff, and Stanley Druckenmiller, belong to the club, Bloomberg reported in 2015.

Each year, hundreds of private aircraft land at the airports around Augusta , according to information from the aircraft-tracking website JetSpy .

Billionaires like former Nike CEO Phil Knight, hotelier Robert Rowling, and investor Herbert Allen Jr. all had planes touch down for last year's tournament, according to the Jetspy data. So did Tiger Woods — the only billionaire winner of The Masters.

His victory means he is the proud owner of one of Augusta National's iconic green jackets, which are only allotted to members and Masters winners.

The secretive club hasn't ever spelled out its membership process, but it's invite-only, and new members can only join when existing ones leave.

You can, though, spectate alongside some of the biggest names in business. Tickets for the Masters are available through a lottery system — or for as much as $10,000 on the secondary market.

May: The Cannes Film Festival

Summer starts early for billionaires, who dock their yachts for the Cannes Film Festival at the end of May. While the event is technically reserved for industry professionals, per its website, the super-rich can, of course, pay to play. For them, the fete is as much an opportunity to get a first look at Oscar winners as it is an opportunity to mingle with stars on the Croisette.

It was one of the first stops on Jeff Bezos' 2023 grand debut tour of his $500 million superyacht Koru , which he disembarked to hit up the Vanity Fair party at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, a favorite venue of the very wealthy and those who court them. Other guests included A-listers Robert de Niro, Naomi Campbell, and Pedro Almodovar. In years past, the likes of David Geffen and Len Blavatnik have turned up at the same event.

Billionaires like François-Henri Pinault and the late Paul Allen have hosted their own parties at the film festival: The former throws the Kering Women in Motion Dinner each year, while the latter was known for his themed yacht parties .

Notably missing from the French Riviera this year? The yachts of Russian Oligarchs .

June: The Royal Ascot

While a number of billionaires spend June in the Hamptons or crisscrossing the Mediterranean , some prefer to spend it on dryer land. The headline billionaires at the Royal Ascot — an annual horse race held about 25 miles outside London — are, unsurprisingly, the members of the British royal family.

But many other members of the three comma club, and their hats, are in attendance. The rich crowd is different from the one at a typical F1 Grand Prix , and some billionaire horse owners — like Chanel's Alain and Gerard Wertheimer; the shipping scions of the Niarchos family; Tetra Pak heiress Kirsten Rausing; and construction magnate Anthony Bamford — have even had skin in the game .

For over 200 years, the Royal Ascot has been open to the public — about 300,000 people attend the five-day event — but don't expect to get anywhere near the rich and famous. Joining the Royal Enclosure requires a special application process, including having two sponsors. Plus, there's a strict dress code — no spaghetti straps or bow ties allowed — and kids under 10 years old are not allowed.

July: Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference

Every July, private jets descend on the small town of Hailey, Idaho, for the summer counterpart to Davos: the Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference — also known as billionaire summer camp.

Since 1983, boutique investment bank Allen & Co — its president, Herbert Allen, is a billionaire himself — has hosted the event, which attracts the biggest and richest names in business, including Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett, and Rupert Murdoch.

Private planes touch down in the small town of Sun Valley for the conference, which has become known for the deals struck in between rounds of golf, guided hikes, whitewater rafting, and tennis matches. It's where Jeff Bezos snagged The Washington Post for $250 million in 2013 and where the seed for Disney's $19 billion acquisition of ABC was planted in 1995.

This year's hot topics included the planned sale of Paramount to Skydance — with Shari Redstone making a grand entrance — artificial intelligence, and the 2024 election.

The vacation-cum-business-meeting is invite-only and pretty much restricted to masters of the universe dressed in vests and quarter-zips — as well as their entourages. Security is strict, with even the press walled off from most of the wheeling and dealing.

But when the conference is not in session, you, too, can stay at the Sun Valley Lodge , the homebase of the retreat that offers a year-round ice skating rink, luxe spa, and pool with a view of the mountains. The most basic rooms cost upwards of $500 a night over the summer, and suites go for upwards of $1,500. But don't feel too bad for the billionaires, Allen & Co foots the bill.

August: Burning Man

On its face, Burning Man — the anticapitalist art and music festival in the Nevada desert — doesn't really seem like an event for billionaires. But the richest people in the world don't seem to care about whether or not they're wanted.

Since the 1990s, attending Burning Man has become a sort of status symbol of the tech elite. Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page are longtime Burners — the festival inspired the very first Google Doodle — as is Eric Schmidt, who they chose to be Google's CEO.

Facebook cofounders Dustin Moskowitz and Mark Zuckerberg, and Uber cofounder Garrett Camp have also attended. Even Ray Dalio, the billionaire hedge fund manager, wanted to see what all the hype was about, sporting some psychedelic bell bottoms and joining the party in 2019.

While ticket sales were down this year — the event did not sell out for the first time since 2011 — the uber-rich are still attending. Hundreds of private planes descended onto Black Rock City's temporary runway during the first days of the festival. The starting price to charter a plane through Burner Express Air is $9,000, one way.

The experiences of many celebrities and billionaires on the Playa lean less into the "decommodification" and "leave no trace" principles of the festival and more into the "immediacy" one — as in instant gratification. They travel around in tricked-out art cars (basically fancy golf carts) and forego rustic tents for more fancy camps, complete with furniture, air conditioning, and personal chefs who charge six figures for their services.

All of this may be why there was a hefty dose of schadenfreude when Burning Man went underwater , quite literally.

September: The Monaco Yacht Show

There are yachts, and then there are the superyachts — and those are aplenty at the Monaco Yacht Show in Monte Carlo, where billionaires gather at the end of the summer to scope out their new toys. (There are also, technically, megayachts, but for plebeian purposes, they are one and the same.)

The 100-plus boats on display have an average length of 165 feet, and feature elevators, bars, spas, pools, gyms, hot tubs, and helipads — sometimes more than one. Jet skis and submersibles are popular add-ons.

In the past, yachts owned by billionaires like Paul Allen, Steve Wynn, and Pier Luigi Loro Piana have been exhibited at the show — with some available for sale or to charter. The event also used to be a favorite of opulent Russian oligarchs, though sanctions have prevented them from attending for the past couple of years.

This year's show includes the 73-meter yacht Planet Nine, which was featured in Christopher Nolan's "Tenet" and is on sale for nearly $86 million. Making her debut is Kismet, the yacht owned by the billionaire Shahid Khan, the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars. She is available to charter for a starting price of $3.36 million a week.

If you're looking to peruse boats that you can't afford — or maybe meet a billionaire who will invite you on theirs — you're in luck: The Monaco Yacht Show is open to the public for the small price of 600 Euros, or $640, a day.

October: The Frieze Art Fair

The Frieze Art Fair, held annually in London, draws the rich — and the staff of the rich — from around the world looking to add very expensive contemporary art to their collections. (For those who prefer pre 21st century art, there's the nearby Frieze Masters.)

In years past, collectors like Point72's Steve Cohen , Diamond titan Laurence Graff, and the wife of hedge fund legend Louis Bacon, Gabrielle, have all been spotted. While exactly which works these patrons have bought tend to be kept under wraps, pieces go for millions of dollars each year.

While anyone can buy tickets to the fair itself — this year for as low as £46, or $57 — the fetes surrounding Frieze Week are a more surefire place to spot a billionaire — or their younger, edgier heirs. A look at party snaps from the last few years show Gordon Getty's granddaughter Ivy Getty, Cohen's daughter Sophia, and Roger Penske's granddaughter Sophia mingling with art-world celebrities, and possibly looking for some six-figure works of art to add to their starter collections.

November: Le Bal des Débutantes

Le Bal des Débutantes continues the centuries-long tradition of rich, famous women reminding society that they are, well, rich and famous.

The ball is invite-only, and no one, not even billionaires, can buy their way in — at least that's what Ophélie Renouard, the founder of the ball's current iteration, told Insider. Renouard handpicks the cohort of about 20 women each year, who go to Paris for a weekend of photoshoots, makeup and hair appointments, and traditional waltzes.

Past debutantes have included royalty like Princess Hélène of Orléans and Princess Akshita Bhanj Deo; children of Hollywood elite like Forest Whitaker's daughters Autumn and True, and Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe's daughter Ava; and, of course, the heiresses of billion dollar fortunes like Araminta Mellon, Kayla Rockefeller, Laila Blavatnik, and Amanda Hearst, usually with their very wealthy and very powerful parents in tow.

As is often the case for the rich — and rich nepo babies, in particular — things come free: The weekend's dance lessons, couture gowns, glam squads, and jewels are paid for by sponsors.

December: New Year in St. Barts

Billionaires ring in the New Year seemingly anywhere but at home. And while Aspen and Maldives are popular choices for the wintering elite, there is perhaps nowhere with more billionaires-per-square foot during the holidays than St. Barts.

In years past, the Caribbean island, formally Saint-Barthélemy, has attracted yachts owned by the likes of David Geffen, Barry Diller and Diane von Furstenberg, and Bernard Arnault for year-end festivities.

Unfortunately for the poor rich, one of the most infamous St. Barts New Year's parties will be canceled this year. Roman Abramovich — the former Chelsea FC owner, sanctioned Russian billionaire, and unlikely hero of St. Barts — will not be hosting his multi-million dollar extravaganza, which has featured performances from Prince and Beyoncé; millions worth of food and alcohol; and guests like Orlando Bloom and Rupert Murdoch.

Guess they'll have to buy tickets to Nikki Beach's party like the rest of us.
